I did the same thing with minecraft tracks. Carved out enough room to run two tracks through and just cycled back and forth between them.

Also FUCK Martians and their saucers.

You can just create a little bunker and send a yo-yo out through it. Kinda cheesy but whatever.

I look forward to the 1.4 release. The town changes look interesting. I just shoved everyone into hovel prisons, so I guess it gives me a reason to start beautifying stuff.

That's what I ended up doing. I have no idea how you're supposed to kill it without hiding under something.
IIRC the easiest way is to create a platform an run back and forth on the platform with a rapid fire ranged weapon, but that's the non-cheese strategy for basically every boss.

update's here and the town mechanic is basically just spaced out NPC boxes. really digging the fact that you can have pets and shortswords can stab at where you're aiming at

Flails are actually good now. They all got reworked to fire out like old flairon did (minus the bubble projectiles) on top of a few other features like quickly spinning it around yourself for close range damage and turning it into a giant spiky ball with better knock back. They’re so good now that I managed to kill Eye of Cthulhu with the standard jungle mace in master mode.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=V4F_zBKyMY0Weeb sword really needs more love. I feel so bad for it.
Muramasa is one of those weapons that’s aged horribly since it came out in 1.0, and the auto swing was never enough to justify it’s low damage.

I hope someone makes a Mod for 1.4 with a upgraded version of muramasa called "Shin Muramasa"

I actually really like the new patch. Haven’t played since like 2017, but this finally gave me a reason to come back at least for a bit.

Journey mode is cool, though I haven’t played with it much. Wanted to see what’s different in the normal game first.

I actually like the new spread base mechanic because it means I don’t have to walk as far to get places. And it’s actually giving me a reason to make more buildings rather than just 1 big town/megabase. Now I have an underground base, and a cool desert palace and a merchant’s mansion.
Anything to break away from routine a bit.

I'll wait a few months before I try out 1.4 because 1.3 had some brain-bustingly horrid issues that had to be ironed out (hello, pre-hardmode Medusas that can stone you from well beyond your field of view).

There's a hidden luck mechanic that's just been discovered. You have a luck stat that affects things like drop rates, spawn rates and most importantly, damage. There are several factors that plays into it but the biggest one is torch placement. Basically placing a certain type of torch in a certain biome can positively or negatively affect your luck. For example, placing an ice torch in the ice biome will increase your luck, while placing it anywhere else will decrease it. Your standard normal torches doesn't increase luck, but will decrease it in certain biomes. As you can imagine, a good chunk of the community, including me, finds this unnecessary and intuitive. An anon on /vg/ already made a mod that fixes this (along with some other changes)

This shit isn't even a fucking problem, lol.
In pre-hardmode, you don't rely on luck at all. Drop rates for the most part don't matter, since you rely on chest loot and crafting in order to progress.
In hardmode, luck DOES matter. However, by that point you have easy access to the right torches (which are easy to keep track of). Just popping down the right one gives you a sizable luck boost, thus increasing drop rates.
Same applies for all the other shit luck affects.
Is this mechanic dumb? Yeah. Is it as bad as the /vg/ autists make it out to be? Hell no. While it has negatives, you'd have to go out of your way to get the worst of them. And it takes virtually no effort to make your luck positive.

I think that I'm the only one that dislike how the "normal mode" has been nerfed to shreds. a lot of debuffs (like getting that cold debuff while in water on ice biomes) have been moved to expert.
also, why didn't the devs made the jungle and ice biomes have some sort of priority over the corruption/crimson biomes? I hate when I get almost no jungle because the world gen decided that I didn't had enough evil biomes in the rest of the world and it needs to be placed right over the jungle/ice.

These are nitpicks, sure. But it gets annoying after a while.
By the way, the drops for the Master Mode bosses are cute as fuck, especially the Skeletron and Skeletron Prime ones. And the new Expert-Exclusive Moon Lord drop, Celestial Starboard, is amazing. It's pretty much Kirby's star.

I am loving the new updates so much! Been playing on Journey mode while I build up my base but will up the difficulty soon for the cool loot. I am really proud of my lava pools outside my doors (WHICH OPEN THEMSELVES NOW), they kill everything that jumps in and you can just collect the loot in the paths underneath! Works great during Blood Moons and Goblin Army Raids :) Even the little things such as QoL improvements and different, moving backgrounds and having plants and banners sway in the wind are changes I am loving so far. Can't wait to find out what else has been added! The new cosmetic pets are cute af too!
