Forgot to mention it until now, but it's now possible to hit the Mining Speed cap without consumables. For those not aware, Mining Speed boosts cap out at 70% which is possible using the following: full mining outfit (30% total), Ancient Chisel (25%), and High Spirits from flying a kite (15%). Something to also note is that the game is pretty loose at to what counts as "flying" as simply letting it hang under you counts as it flying and lets you build up the boost.

Speaking of digging, can digtoise mine in other directions? I found one in my getfixedboi run, but if he can only dig down it's kinda useless

Honestly, so far i'm hooked

There's SO many traps in the world, you have to constantly stay on your toes when exploring. Pic related, just went for a 5 minute exploration and disarmed all those traps. And even so you have to be careful because pressure plates often trigger multiple traps, boulders, statues... But i had a good run just now, found two (!) heart statues in the same cabin

Enemies are pretty tanky and deal ridiculous amount of damage, i miss being scared playing this game. Eye of Cthulhu was a breeze though, killed in the first try. You have a lot of space on your starting area to make a nice arena for it. It's legendary AI consists only of a few more dashes and spawning more little eyes, which is more of a help than a threat since they drop hearts

Killed him with the mace and a shitty bow with frostburn arrows
The Lihzard Temple (Or however it's spelled) in Zenith/getfixedboi is absolutely painful. It's stupidly long, there's traps out the wazoo and it´s dark as hell, to the point that torches have like a 1-2 square radius of light (Ended up unwittingly summoning the Torch God due to the sheer amount of torches I had to place just to see where I was going). Best of luck when you get there.

I'm still taking my time

When i play terraria i take forever to get in hardmode because i like to setup arenas, collect everything and setup neat bases. So far the only boss that i defeated was the eye, that i thought it was piss easy to kill. The Slime King however i find a major pain in the ass to fight. Not only he's huge now, in this difficulty it's pretty common for the trap slimes to spawn, and King Slime is spawning them during the fight

I still didn't find the corruption/crimson orbs so i could get a gun too and i'm to scared to explore the jungle for a boomstick. I'll try to setup a enclosed base near a large body of water so i can pray for the RNGods to give me one out of a jungle crate... And i found yesterday the hard way that destroying boulders isn't always a good idea. There's an abomination called a "ghoulder" that phase through blocks then activated and killed me in the underground desert :cryblood: and since i play in mediumcore, it was tough to retrieve my equipment

Dangersense potions are a must in this difficulty, i have almost 200 dart traps retrieved and i haven't explored 15% of the map, it's crazy

He can mine either horizontally and vertically, depending on your cursor's position when you command him. This is nice for evening out ground or making containment tunnels pre-hardmode.

Well, yesterday i decided to quit being a pussy and ventured in the jungle. Everything there could easily 2 tap me, with bats dealing over 100 damage and man eaters dealing 300. I avoided every open area, instead opting for digging tunnels and peaking through small holes in search of large bodies of water

Lo and behold, i found an abandoned manor, which i decided to refurbish and claim as my base. An excellent spot, near a large body of water and a altar. Not to mention two hives (they're huge in getfixedboi seeds) just below. I think i might make this my main base, it's too good to not use it as a main. RNGjesus was also by my side, as i looted a Bezoar without even farming for it, and the very first jungle crate i fished came with the boomstick with a good prefix. Later plans will be using liberal amounts of dynamite east of this base for Queen Bee/Plantera arena, but i'll research to see if i'm in the correct layer otherwise they'll enrage. I think it needs to be a little more to the north as it's this seeds cavern layer

Fishing quests are weird in this seed though

And currently i'm trying to grind goblins to summon this invasion. In my regular Master runs the fucking invasion always procs when i least want it. No invasions so far. The goblins spawn frequently underground, but decided to disappear now that i want to farm their cloth

Good for me as it gives me time to build my anti goblin bunker. Hammered platforms inside allows me to shot through the wall like embrasures, and i can pass through them, but you can't do this from outside. And enough space for me to maneuver/dodge/destroy the sorceror's projectiles. I'll expand it to get nurse a room too just in case. And a chest with spare minisharks and ammo in case i die and can't reach my equipment

So far this has been the most effective way to deal with the goblin army in all the years i've played this game. I took no damage at all and it was easy to dispatch the goblins with liberal amounts of grenades, boomstick blasts and minishark. Having the summon also helped me in case the sorceror spawned inside, as she stunlocked him for enough time for me to blast him away

Now i just have to find the jew goblin to reforge my stuff and get the rocket boots and tinkering station. I'll probably be able to get all my stuff the warding prefix, since money is pretty abundant on getfixboi, i have around 4 platinum to my name

This is all from a single ingame day of standing around. Pre-hardmode, by the way.

While you can make more per hour with thread, that's post-boss and requires finding your Aether.

Figured out that was the time to stop pussyfooting around and focusing on the next boss. Of the two evils, crimson is less of a pain in the ass to fight and easier to get crafting ingredients during the fight even if i lose. It's the fourth boss i'll take on. I did Deerclops today, but he's a joke on master and receives no new AI improvements on Zenith

Thing is, the Crimson is quite far from my bases, and when i saw the giant enemies i noped immediately and decided that i'd rather make a self containment crimson near one of my own bases. So i came back with explosives and blew the everliving shit of Crimsons border and scurried away with crimtanes a plenty. Turned out alright, and with my anti goblin cuckbox i can reliably collect resources for battle potions and boss summoning items

Look at the size of that thing... Pings me for 100HP, even with flag bonus and all my stuff reforged to Warding

Update on the Zenith run

1771429013899.png

Did Queen Bee just now, and the Brain yesterday. Brain of Cthulhu is a major pain in the ass without some sort of metagaming. With double the amount of creeps he spawn (up to 40) and increased speed over the board, it's too hard to manage. Took me 4 tries to bring him down, had to craft the blade of grass for better crowd control and knockback. I crafted 400 molotovs but ended up just using the sword. My arena for this fight was neat and wide, in the underground, so maneuvering was easier, collecting resources to summon it as well. When the Brain enters its second phase he inverts gravity, so i had to make sure i had a smooth straight ceiling. After that just swinging the blade hitting the brain, easier with the homing projectiles and summons pointing me to the right copy (they're all opaque so you can't tell right away). Manageable fight after dying to it 3 times but collecting enough tissues to craft hellstone gear

As for the Bee, accidentally summoned her while preparing the arena. For the first 75% of the fight it feels just like regular Master Mode Bee, easy to dodge, but the pain in the ass is the amount of spawns you have in the hive, and i went through the fight without knockback immunity. But with bezoar to avoid poison damage altogether, it was alright. At the 25% last HP however, Queen Bee's dashing is fucking relentless and i actually had to retreat a few times to heal up. As with every difficulty, dying to Queen Bee is really hard, as you can just teleport away and heal up, since she doesn't despawn. She does enrage outside the underground jungle however, and she'll destroy you in seconds if you fight her enraged

Now it's time to prepare for Skeletron

The character portraits are even worse than i expected, the artist is genuinely not good, why are the merchant and traveling merchant So youthful? they are just young people with white hair

Yeah, they're the kind of ugly Stardew Valley inspired kind of thing, i didn't like it. You can switch it off so no biggie

Anyway, progressing with my dumbass getfixedboi adventure...

Scored a Magic Conch fishing at the desert biome! Decided to use it to explore the surface, everything is evil biome, including the floating islands. Bummer. So i decided to very carefully extend some tracks upwards so i could get far enough from the ocean so it could register as uncorrupted, but near enough to install a pylon for easy access

1771439956413.png

After this, a bloodmoon triggered. The amount of spawns this triggers at the surface is unreal. Decided to farm banners for the harpies so i could extend the tracks a bit and make an artificial skylake so i could get sky crate loot

1771435382681.png

Worked alright, i made my sky artificial lake and got the balloons i wanted, as well as a steady supply of damselfish for calming potions.

1771547933953.png

Then i went full retarded and decided i'd use the magic conch to get to the other side of the world and use a digtoise to try and find shimmer. I got instantly raped by a devourer and dropped all my fucking premium equipment at a total isolated place with no practical means to go back. Serves me right for being retarded.

For reference, the mouse pointed show where my nigger ass got rekt:

1771546285212.png

Fortunately after many fucking hours of failure, i got my stuff back by digging up enough that i'd exit through a corruption cave. Then jumped like a monkey while being chased by 20 giant eater of souls. Repeated 3x to get all my equipment and now i'll try to find the aether biome in a more conservative and less retarded way

So basically i advanced very little today

I've been digging through my world like an autistic lunatic and I have managed to make it where I can enter the hallow desert and then crawl out of the entrance to the crimson near the crimson desert and the crimson near the dungeon.

The Hole of the Blood Moon.png

So my quest for the shimmer went on and i eventually found it, planning on building two houses there for the shimmer pylon and surprise surprise, it's all corrupted so you can't make valid housing there!

But would you look at that. Not only all that section of the map is corrupted, it has huge pockets of shimmer everywhere. So i figured: if i can't go to the shimmer, i'll make the shimmer go to me

1771692393821.png

So 700 sticks of dynamite later, i blew the ever living shit of the shimmer deposits (carefully since explosives bounce from the surface). The plan was simple, i'd make the great shimmer heist from bellow, climbing from the underworld. After many explosions, i siphoned the shimmer to the mushroom biome down bellow. Still, everything was pretty damn corrupted, so i have to blow even more dynamite to isolate and make sure i could build valid housing, and it worked

1771692595290.png

Now shimmer is useful not only to obtain certain powerups or swap accessories, you can use it to obtain a pseudo free reforge system. What i would do is have a small accessible pool of shimmer and throw my crafted stuff in. Then collect the ingredients back, and craft it again from nearby crafting stations. Terraspark Boots for example, the jew goblin asks me for around 30 gold per roll. I ain't paying for that, so i kept throwing all my stuff in the shimmer until i had the best modifier

1771692743281.png

But now i've hit a major roadblock. Skeletron is HARD on this seed. He's far too fast, i might have to cheese this fight. Maybe stock on beenades, but it will be painful since Queen Bee is so annoying on this difficulty. There's that famous diamond minecart trick but i don't think it will work with the acceleration increment he gets on the legendary difficulty

Skeletron status = RAPED

Took me 6 tries though. Spent some time farming for stars so i could use the Star Cannon against him. Surprise surprise, he reflects them back at you. Not just while spinning, during the whole fucking fight! Star Cannon was useless to me. So i figured out another plan...

1771717077397.png

The Traveling Merchant sometimes sells a weapon called the Gray Zapinator, it's rare so i always buy it when he offers. Thing is, this is the gambler's dream weapon. Its projectiles can be affected by numerous random effects, bouncing around erratically, traveling at 1 block speed, ignoring blocks, having 10x multipliers and so on so forth... And they also stack... So i started my plan. First i made i long minecart track in my hellbridge and them i crafted 20 or so abeeminations so i could summon Queen Bee in the jungle and quickly teleport to my base. From there, i'd ride the tracks till she was aligned with me while i spam the Zapinator (it costs 0 mana to shoot if you're wearing full meteor armor set btw). My average damage is not great since i have everything forged to warding BUT, it's a bossmanjack build, so the gambling is the best part. With some buffs, i had 70 damage per shot, but i would hit the jackpot with the multipliers for BIG DMG. How big you ask? 700 damage if i get the multiplier. Even better when the projectile stays almost immobile after i shoot, and the boss runs through it taking the BIG DMG for multiple frames. After eradicating Terraria's bee population, i had enough wax to craft over 400 beenades, and went to my arena near the dungeon

Now getfixedboi's skeletron is a pain in the ass because of the new mechanics. He's faster, has more acceleration and can deflect projectiles when spinning, and reflect stars during all the fight. Not to mention the dungeon entrance was a straight tunnel so everytime i'd start the fight odds were that i'd take a 150 hit damage as soon as the skeleton spawned. Luckily for me, i had this mount that gives you a low cooldown dash that ignores collisions, so i could use it to avoid Skeletron's damage if he got too near me

So i proceeded to spam beenades until my framerate started going to shit (there must be literally thousands of bees pursuing skeletron). Since he's fast it took a while for them to get to him. The bees ate away his hands and now the fuckery was about to begin

He summons 4 dark casters on his second phase, and they love bumping into you making you lose momentum, this is the part where you usually die because you lose speed and skeletron stunlocks you on the spin attack, but the no collision dash helped me. The zapinator was really effective against him, as sometimes the projectile got "lodged" in the skull during the spin phase

By far the hardest fight so far. Master Mode skeletron is pretty easy compared to this version. Now i can finally access the dungeon and get me a cobalt shield and knockback won't be an issue anymore
