I made a new world with my endgame character that I stored in the cloud and proceeded to make an Asian tower out of blue dungeon bricks, dynasty shingles, and dumped some Hallow across the world. Chilling out with lava pits on the side makes it so serene as enemies and NPCs leap into it and burn to death.

Looks nice. Don't be afraid to try layering different kinds of background walls and hitting them with some paint. A little goes a long way.

I might throw in some regular glass with some deep blue paint, alongside the roof tiles and the marble pillars.

Wow. Did anyone see that they added Hijabs, Niqabs, and Burkas to the hair styles? Not sure what patch that was in, but holy cringe.
I’ll cautiously accept it due to the other really good hairstyles they added, also because for every one muslim person playing terraria like four non muslims will make a terrorist character or a ninja with it. I would be concerned if it was one of the starting outfits instead.

On another note they fucked up the dye trader super bad:

I kind of always imagined something like this:

Took me three or four times to take out Chippy's Skeletron. It uses For the Worthy's AI changes, which makes this fight a real pain in the ass because he keeps spawning skeleton mages that WILL spawn and fuck your momentum when you're maneuvering away from the spinning head attack. He's also 30% faster and reflect projectiles but i think i circumvented this with meteor shots

The vanity set is cool enough to make it worth my while, plus a set of wings that i'll be able to activate once in hardmode

What the fuck are some of these balance changes, man?
Dude, Terraria's absurd developer melee favoritism proceeds unbroken. I was around when they released Zenith, and MAN has the cope around that piece of shit balancing decision continued to this day.
Any time someone points out that melee is head and shoulders the most powerful class in the endgame with zero weaknesses, double or *more* the damage output of every other class, more defense, better mobility, no resource constraints, the most you hear is, "weeeeeeeeeeellllllll ~any~ class can use the Zenith so it's not teeeeechnically melee (even though melee gets damage bonuses for it nobody else does) and anyway it's so overpowered that it was a balancing mistake that we won't repeat with the other classes. Oh, we're not fixing that balancing mistake, we have 'more pressing priorities' now." Making melee overpowered in every stage of the game seem to be those more pressing priorities.

I knew they were full of it back when Zenith came out because in that *same* patch, the one where they defended Zenith as a "victory lap" item where balance doesn't matter because it's endgame, also nerfed the shit out of the endgame mage armor because the health regen buff was "too powerful".

Terraria has been this for years

I don't even need the "Zenith equivalent for every class" that you see people clamor for. I just find it amazing that the class that has zero downsides or costs for anything also has a terrain-piercing highest range in the game on a "sword".

Then again I'm one of those grouchy old mage players since childhood who's watched the gaming universe inexorably slide into melee dominance because it's "not fair" if I do more damage despite...having less HP, defense, and requiring actual resources to use my class abilities. It's only fair if melee is the best at everything.

I replaced all the torches in my abode with white torches because they give off the most light of any torch in the game. You can't use it in water, so cursed/ichor torches are still good for that.

But melee is absolutely the easiest class with virtually no drawbacks

It came to a point that any class will benefit of having melee weapons. Sunfury got buffed to a point that you could reliably get almost 1000 dps with no investment just by having Bluemoon in your inventory. I melted Queen Bee with this in 30 or so seconds on Master mode

Melee went from being a strong class to baby mode class, trivializing the entire game
