Time for a fresh playthrough
 
It was pretty easy to miss, but in the October update they snuck in a release window for 1.4.5
With all of that said, we are realistically looking at a launch window for Terraria 1.4.5 that is between mid December and the end of January.
I wouldn't expect anything until the end of that period, but at least they've promised something.

I forget that some people don't play the game for like 3 weeks like I do.

Could probably do it in a day, but I think Terraria is really good at letting you set your own pace (mostly). It can be really distracting with all the exploration and discoveries.

Might try and remake Zenith, need one more sword from Moonlord, and one from Martian Invasion, then I'll probably have to make a bunch of maps for pumpkins and the enchanted sword.

I've had Terraria in my Steam library for like a decade now and have made a few attempts through the years to try to play it, but have never gotten very far. Having recentley played a lot of Pal World I got interested again because of the crossover with all it's content making me curious so this most recent time I played it with a friend and finally understood it's appeal after having a reason to not quit 30 minutes in. I gotta say, that super early game is pretty rough for retention because doing everything sucks so much and you're so slow, but basically as soon as you can get your hand on a boomerang and combat becomes far less of a slog it starts to build up into it's systems.

I played on Expert because some cursory research told me some items were locked to it and I'm glad I did because it probably would have been too easy in just the standard mode. Most bosses were not too big a bump in the road taking like 2 or 3 attempts with some outliers which were probably more fun for it. The Twins in particular was the first mech boss we fought and it took like 20 attempts which was really fun to get the hang of avoiding all their attacks and managing their behavior of which one was targeting which player, if not both going after one randomly. Lots of silly tech with using the slime mount for fast falling for me. Skeletron Prime and Destroyer we killed right away in one shot afterwards which was too bad. Up till Moon Lord we continued to have little trouble and he took probably a similar amount of attempts to the Twins, but there were a lot of issues with him chasing me and leaving my friend unable to catch up that made it not as fun.

I went ahead and did 100% of the achievements because I enjoyed the game so much, luckily there was cheese for the 200 fishing quest one or I would not have had the will to do it. We are currently doing Calamity mod as a kind of NG+ taking our endgame characters in to get some use out of all our endgame weapons and such against the mod's post-Moon Lord bosses, give me a reason to use my Zenith besides killing bunnies. We're doing Expert Revengence and we just finished the Devourer of Gods last time which was an insanely fun and crazy fight considering he 2 shots me in my tank gear and will 1 shot my friend in summoner gear if he hits head on. Crazy strats had to be employed including one of us always despertley trying to stay alive when the other is dead so we don't have to restart the fight and a whole stretch of our world becoming a graveyard biome because of our hundreds of tombstones. That presentation and music too... top tier shit, far better than any boss in the base game and I'll be shocked if any of the remaining bosses in the mod beat it.

I've played i like 100+ hours in the past month and a half and didn't even remember when I bought it so I looked at my Steam history and apperently I bought it in 2015 for $2.50. Well, it' one of the best $2.50s in gaming I've ever spent this side of a .99¢ Deus Ex. Highly reccomended.

Now I know the forbidden truth...
Terraria > Minecraft.
 
After 3 years since the previous update, the bloated 1.4.5 update is coming out this month. It might be the final terraria update for real this time, but they’ve said that several times before. Sadly it has the gender removal/“body type A/B” bullshit.

They haven't said it was done for ideological reasons, but the evidence is there. The Venus and Mars symbols could have still been included, in addition to the voice pitch for added customization, but the fact they haven't indicates political motive. The most damming evidence is in the icon for sex selection in the top bar. There is zero reason for that to be changed to a generic human.

Short answer, no.
Looking over the wiki, apparently nothing has happened except the removal of Shayy content (undertale groomer) and a couple of hotfixes in November. It's probably too early to conclude the mod is dead but I wouldn't expect anything huge soon.

Even if there’s a slight chance they could be telling the truth (as the gender choice doesn’t seem to adjust anything in-game), I strongly believe it’s due to ideological shit.

By the “non-rapist”, are you referring to the guy who put in his troon self-insert OC in as an NPC who transforms into a my little pony character?
