They're gloating that they've banned 900 players (Archive), and that they refuse to look at any appeals now.

As you might expect, the fanbase is cheering for their high horse.
Thankfully some people can see the elephant in the room with this.
Then I noticed this guy. He replied twice to this, and I've seen him occasionally when it comes to Temtem stuff.

Seems he's even boasting about the ban stuff on his stream title. Then I noticed his latest streams...

He hasn't played anything BUT Temtem for the past 2 weeks, and he seems to be a variety streamer, though you'd think otherwise after seeing that second image, that one stream where the game seemed to be down had him play two games for only an hour each before he wasted 9 more hours on Temtem. Seems like a proper shill for this shit game.

You know they're obviously using automatic/bots to determine this - There's no way that a dev team of 20 or less people will be able to confirm that shit.

Atleast that made Temtem react. That's their response to this stuff: https://twitter.com/PlayTemtem/status/1224338586323050497

I still don't buy how they can say all of those are legit - I press x to doubt.

So, how long till this team cracks from checking all of those?

Also, here's that shill again:

Also, here's that shill again:

Amazing how much he has to reach to defend their original decision. It's also hilarious how a guy who's known for hacking into Pokémon games just calls him out on his shit.

Oh my god.

Less than two weeks ago, people were getting frozen and sunken into the floor for opening a goddamn box, you’ve been fighting the Press Any Key bug for days, and now you want to blindly rely on your anti-cheat system? Are you insane?

Also wow all the stans. To hit 900 successful bans with no misfires, the chance of misfiring should be lower than 1 in 900 - or 0.11% repeating.

Now, another plausible interpretation is that they got, for example, 2000 ban notifications, saw that 1100 were illegitimate, and banned the remaining 900. Even then, appeals would still be important.

Edit: Found this on reddit.

They eventually did put in a ban appeal policy after much criticism, but the first one in particular just reeks of laziness. 'Ugh, we had to spend a WHOLE MORNING checking our work.' Yeah, welcome to MMO management. It's not a kiddy pool. You are out of the kickstarter bubble now. You aren't going to get the hugs and kisses you got before.

If you don't want to deal with this shit, hire someone to do it for you. Todd Howard should never be your goto example of how handle bans.

Gotta love a lot of the people who are defending this and are calling people who are complaining about this are cheaters. Like... WOW.

If they accidentally dox the appeals like FO76 did I will laugh my head off.

I played a little more Temtem today. Got to the second town on the second island. It's actually not a long trip, but Temtem manages to make it long.

I've realised: the AI isn't trying to win. The AI is just trying to cause the maximum amount of damage to you. The AI never does anything to manage it's stamina. I've had so many hits almost kill a temtem before it unleashes a huge attack that knocks itself out, SOLELY to knock out my own temtem and deprive it of exp.

It's just ball-bustingly slow. It's like the hour-long witness puzzle - I'm not losing time because I'm acting foolish, I'm losing time because I genuinely don't have any other option.

Also, watching the steam charts, it's two week anniversary has passed, as well as the last trough and the first peak after it. The last peak and trough were just over 20k and 10k respectively, and the first peak afterwards? 18,599. This game peaked at nearly 40k.

The freefall will continue, it seems.

From everything you guys have been explaining/venting about the game, it just sounds like a shitty romhack where the creator has confused "time-consuming" with "challenging". Nobody wants to play through a game that feels like a fucking slog, no matter how pissed they are at Nintendo.

If this fails somehow I would love to see Blunty from youtube defend this horribly mismanaged feature creep laden fan game . I wonder if they are going for the monthly subscription route or the microtransaction paid to play...

Yeah, I've gotten to the third island now, and I'll give my experience - I've lost a few times, but that's mainly due to a bad type match up and due to a lack of preparation. You're not wrong about the AI powering through, the only time when they'll rest is when they have to - A little word to the warning though when you get to the third Dojo though.

They pull a very step level jump for some of the tamers there, which I think is really bullshit.

Up until this point of the game, you'll be facing Temtem that are around level 30-35, but there are a couple of groups of tamers that jump to level 45. And what's even worse is that you'll be unable to properly grind much since you won't be able to buy items when you get to the main town on the island. Not even the Dojo leader has a Temtem at that level.

Hell, you won't be able to get any more Tem cards until you beat the dojo, so, I'd suggest stocking up on Tem cards (You'll lose your items, but that'll be temporary)

Also, when you get to the volcano, and beat the scientist, DO NOT FORGET TO OBSERVE THE CAGE THAT HAS THE TEMTEM in it. Seriously, I've seen a few people miss it, and miss that it was actually a temtem that you get.

And that's actually something I wanna point out - You're given free temtem a bit too often. Third Dojo, you get a pretty good Deendre, then when you get your party taken away in the third island, you get the following Temtem:

Nessla, Loali, Vulcrane, and Valash. And you get to keep them after you get your team back.

Like, I'm not against the idea of getting gift Temtem, but it seems a bit off to me to have that happen so quickly and so close together. Much like getting your starter in X and Y, and then getting the Torchic.

Maybe Oprah is one of the devs. YOU GET A TEMTEM, AND YOU GET A TEMTEM.

Otherwise sounds like too many freebies.

It’s more a game where the creator has confused ‘cheap’ with difficult. There’s a lot of wild level differences and very annoying mechanics.

For example, status effects. Status effects all work on a duration, and cannot be switched out to even delay their ticks. This means that if you get burned or poisoned, you will take that damage, whether you want to or not, unless you use an item. This extends to the doom effect, which KOs any temtem that gets it!

One of the most common offenders is Loali. This temtem will nearly always cast toxic spores on it’s opponents, giving the Poison effect for 3 turns. The poison effect removes 1/8 of your hp every turn. So just by getting hit by that, you’re guaranteeing a loss of a little under half your health. Whether or not you switch out. And even if you rush to kill it first turn, it may have the toxic farewell ability, poisoning whoever KOs it anyway.

Consider that these Temtem were given in two batches 6 months apart, because each island is released about that far apart. Perhaps it seemed appropriate from that perspective?

I’m more annoyed by the Temtem they chose. Aside from the Anahir, which is a single creation, only one of those five remaining temtem is uncatchable by the time you get them, and they don’t use the chance to give you the Earth or digital types which are still lacking in variety. It’s not even hard to catch them in those forms.

Have some screenshots.

“That was awesome!” - Opponent as the camera slides in awkwardly too close showing their mild disappointment. And yes, this was where it stopped.

Sure, the Temtems following me, but all it does is make the same reaction everywhere. To me, one of the cooler parts of HGSS was not just having the Pokémon follow you, but having it actually interact with the environment around it. If a nature temtem in a goddamn volcano doesn’t care, it’s a superficial system.

Not only that but in HGSS, your following pokemon would actually give you items if you interacted with them. So there was a practical reason to having them too, not in Temtem.

I just can't get over how fucking bad the temtems look. Fucking yokai from yokai watch are better.
To be fair the yokai watch has a unified artstyle so even ones that might look bad are not out of place.

TemTem My god looks like god was getting a bit lazy and on a few of those days during creation asked his angels to go wild.

Tfw snom being my mom's blue Jewel catapiller btfo's every temtem.

To be fair, each series have their goods and bads in them.

I still think Temtem's design philosophy is rather messy though.

I do like a few of Yokai watch's designs:
1580962483491.png

I love Benkei's design. The problem with Yokai watch is the same with Digimon, it's that they'll take the lazy route and make new monsters that are basically just blatant recolors.

Pokemon may have a few stinkers here and there, but their designs are fresh and don't copy each other, even if they are based on the same concepts.

Temtem?

Eh...
