Legal or not, TFS turned DBZA into their jobs by Patreon. Of course they had an incentive to delay new episodes as much as possible since nobody gave a shit about their non-DBZA content. Instead of hiring editors they let Kaiserneko do everything and give Toei's lawyers lot of time to fuck them over.

Their legitimate gigs aren't really much apart from Funimation's alms at times.
Yeah, but blackmailing Funi into not hiring them for anything period instead of just going "Don't bring them onto any of our shows" definitely comes off as a dick move on Toei's part. Of course, as I also stated, it didn't help that the group's egos got the better of them and they thought they could do a better DBZ than actual DBZ.

Is there any actual evidence Toei did anything like that? 'cause that just sound like Bronzium-plated cope over never getting calls.

Again, Funimation isn't the only game in town. If Sabat and friends wanted to help, they could recommend them to work elsewhere.

Or maybe they're just not as good as they fancy themselves (except Lanipator, that motherfucker has range and should imo already be getting Christopher Sabat's roles after Sabat's "casting couch" antics were outed, but double standards and so forth).

For reference, Kira Buckland worked in at least one abridged series, plus innumerable Newgrounds projects... yet she was the main character in one of the biggest games of recent years. Regardless of one's opinions of her, the girl had the cojones (and probably luck) to grind, slowly getting roles until she made it.

Maybe they should have seen the writing on the wall and, once Namek got finished, put an actual effort into being noticed on their merits, maybe do a couple reels, do bit parts in some bean mouth CN show, and build a resume... instead of illegally riding Dragon Ball's coattails.
I honestly think the potential is there for some of them, but working on DBZA for so long just held them back imo. The time that went into it should have gone strictly toward legitimate gigs and original content if they were serious about it. They needed to make a commitment but tried to have it both ways instead.

I know Kaiser and I think Lani said it happened when Toei caught wind of the initial Cell Games Reenactment scene they did for Funi, forcing them to recycle the original version of the scene at the last minute as a result. But I wouldn't put it past Toei to browbeat Funi like that.

The group says they've been "Greylisted until DBZA is over", but now that it is, it begs the question as to why they don't try again.

So what makes Cell and the androids any special?
Honestly, I have no idea.
As stated earlier in the thread, the Cell Saga is their favorite arc and, therefore, they can't make fun of it. The fact that they're also massive Cell fanboys didn't help things either.

It's also speculated that their "burnout" by the end is because Kaiser didn't like the Buu arc.

From what I hear, the Buu saga isnt a major favorite of the fandom as a whole, so that's not limited to just Kaiser. That being said, considering how the tone of the Buu saga was all over the place, I'd imagine it would've been a bit hard to parody it

You'd think they'd have gone out of their way to improve on the Buu arc if they were so proud of their writing skills, but guess they weren't fanboy enough to go through with it. Cowards.

You kidding? With all the problems the Buu arc has, they would have no problems finding material for it.

The Buu Saga deal is it's essentially Tori giving the fandom a huge middle finger and going "Oh! You fuckers want Goku back? Alright, I'll give you Goku back! He's gonna fight a literal manchild that turns everyone into sweets! How you like dat shit?!"

We KNOW they shit talked Sabat in videos. He probably got them blacklisted after that.

Well, when you put it like that it sounds like it could be a fun read for reasons outside of why DBZ is enjoyed regularly.

The Buu saga was essentially Tori going back to his gag manga routes for it. To be sure, there are "dramatic"/serious moments, but for the most part, its making fun of it's own story.

I liked some parts, found others to be excessive (Ginyu twerking felt dated). Kinda felt like Lani was phoning it in as Raditz. Same with Little Kuriboh as Frieza, to be honest.

Regardless, still the first post-DBZA video to make me snicker.

I think the Radditz thing was on purpose. The whole “completely and utterly beat down and nothing to be done about it” mindset Raditz is in these days.
