Best class(es) to play as?

I'm surprised the only scout revert you mentioned is the pocket pistol. You can tell gabber is a scout main. (I'm fine with sandman guillotine though)
no i've got a case of dementia thinking about it, the soda popper, mad milk and the bfb are three that i should've instantly mentioned.
for other cases on different classes i should've also mentioned the zatoichi, maybe the old FoS, wrangler, rescue ranger, jag, pomson (but out of necessity coz old dr) and cozy camper.

The old pocket pistol stats were always really weird anyway. When the fuck do scouts EVER take fall-damage?

when they couldn't jump with the bfb, past that it's a remnant (and a rather powerful one honestly) of that bfb

i think you've had failed to notice that the saharan spy set is present as well, so i hope you enjoy a silent dead ringer as well!

If the Saharan Spy set is back, why didn't Gabber bring back all of the Polycount sets from the grave? I thought old Valve could do no wrong and the balancing was perfect. Let's see that Croc-o-Style headshot immunity, that'd show all the pro-nerf fags like me what's up.

Actually a lot of the recent reverts they've added are quite retarded or unnecessary.
The problem with Castaway is that they have adopted a completely retarded mentality regarding reverts. Even if a weapon is already good and balanced, it's going to get reverted, even if the older version is definitively better than all other weapons in its slot.

Example: The BFB they have is straight up better compared to Stock and the other unlocks, because the heightened horizontal mobility is too good to pass up and the vertical loss in mobility is basically nothing (only 25% per double jump = You're still faster than normal Scout after a double jump). Sure, it has 2 less shots, but unless you picked up a mouse yesterday, that's not nearly as bad for something like the FoA, since you have a speed of 173%, so you can fuck off whenever you feel like (unless you're fighting an Engineer). I'm not denying the need for a revert, just saying that the version they have now is AIDS to fight.

Why have they adopted this retarded mentality? Probably because the chink responsible for writing the code for the reverts (Protons Oppai) as well as 4 or so more players (Lithuanian larping as an American Gabber, Pedonigger random and some jannies) are the sole people responsible for reverts.

Do you know what the janny drama is all about?
I have my own personal beef with Castaway since I was one of the 20 or so players that got purged from Castaway EU. There was a guy called Juliana that played (and still does play) on Castaway EU. A large amount of the EU regulars hated Juliana, since all he did was larp about how anti-woke we were in-game and in the group chat. To remove this faggot, a couple of players made it their mission to never let this guy join ever by constantly kicking him. I was not involved with this, but I watched from the sidelines because I also found that guy annoying. Eventually, random and Gabber picked up on this and decided to remove votekicks for all players. However, they soon brought it back with the slight difference that now, they could: 1. Remove a specific person's votekicking rights and 2. See who wanted to start votekicks.

Gabber, in his finite wit and intellect, decided that instead of telling one guy to punch sand, decided to gag a good chunk of the EU regulars in the server, ban them from the Steam Group, or both. Despite not participating in this votekicking debacle, I, as well as a bunch of other people, were kicked from the Steam Group for no reason. And since the people that were gagged were also the ones that were the most active on VC, Castaway EU became infinitely more boring, leading to EU committing suicide. Now, in his defence, Gabber was unanimously hated by EU (hatred for ecelebs, even leading to his getting kicked at least 3 times ROFLMAO), but to essentially kill EU over one guy is still idiotic, no matter how you stretch it.

As for drama relating to jannies specifically, my main gripe with them is that they have a lot of influence regarding reverts. Why? It's because they couldn't be bothered to make a channel in the Steam Group to discuss reverts, or a Google form for people to vote on or something. Instead, they decided to tuck all of the decisions regarding reverts in the Discussions page, which no one used except for Gabber, random, and the jannies. They also chose the most downtrodden people to become jannies. Furfags, retards, degenerates, you name it. At least there wasn't any powertripping for the time that I was there.

The most damaging person from Castaway has to be Protons. He is the one that started the "revert everything" mentality. And I do mean everything. "This weapon change was in the game for approximately 2 days because it was a bug by Valve. We MUST revert it immediately because muh Robin Walker's vision". He's that braindead. Hence why the weapon balance is nonexistent, since some weapons are more overpowered than others, effectively overshadowing everything else.

Oh god, where do I even begin with Alvy?

Alvy was, in my opinion, the beginning of the end for Castaway. As soon as he joined, Castaway continued getting infested with more and more furfags. I, as well as a lot of people that ended up getting banned, hated Alvy with a passion. I have always had the suspicion that the people that got banned from Castaway were the ones that wanted to remove all the faggots and keep the server at a respectable level (especially since Alvy is a furry and random is a brony) and that all of the votekicking of Juliana was just an excuse. It's no surprise that the Steam Group chat is full of those types of "people", apparently full of furry discussion and shit like that (at least from what I've heard from the few people that did have access to the group after I got banned, can't verify personally because I'm banned). Also, Alvy, despite not making any contribution to Castaway in any way (fanart, recommending ways to improve the server, writing code and stuff), he was given full janny permission. Meanwhile, you had actual EU regulars wanting to at least get janny permission so they could ping the group chat to inform when sessions started and they never got it.

Not to mention, he wasn't the only pedophile on there. There was some drama regarding another guy called catboy. Now I don't know the whole story, but from the discussions that I've had with some other guys, I had a rough story:

This guy called catboy (who is 16 or 17 IIRC) was like getting groomed by a couple of people, being given Steam games and some other stuff, and how he was in some way involved with Castaway. I could be completely wrong but this is at least what I got from the whole ordeal.

Trust me, Castaway is gonna go under within the next year or two. Ever since Christmas of '24, it has been going downhill. It's only a matter of time as to when it becomes another tinnykittygirlpound.

Last time I played on Castaway (late April, early May?) most of these went all but completely unused, because they're crutches. One or two guys were using LC to great effectiveness and were a fucking nightmare to play against, but I'm guessing getting to that point took some practice, and neither was also running stickies, so they were still less effective than a regular demo. Everything else is just worse than stock. You'd think every engie would be using the pompson considering how fucking awful it was to play against on release, but no - it's always some flavor of shotgun, I barely even saw the rescue ranger. The only indefensible case is DR, which has been a shit design and the absolute king of crutches since day 1. And fucking carbine, really? It went from one flavor of useless to another. Who cares. Sandman + cleaver is something only stationary players complain about. My advice is to fucking move.

if it happens it happens, outside of the fact that this same argumentation was made by that retard sped of vicker, i don't think reusing assets and writing tf twice counts for anything.
i'd prefer if someone's got something more concrete and/or tangible for this magic source 2 tf2 (that will end up being a nothingburger at best since there's the infinite amount of particle effects that are bloating this game)

e: remade the reply so i don't have to doublepost

i mean that's cool and all but this shit just turns me off man, i don't want it and it's as far as it goes for me

Don't know how to edit a post. Here's a taste as to how degenerate Alvy is. This was posted 8 months ago, right when things started going to shit.
i do believe that there's some faggotry afoot in castaway, but right now all you've shown is just meaningless hearsay, i'm not saying that you're full of shit but make a singular effort post and show as much concrete (screenshots, logs, archives and so on) proof as possible.

lol, lmao even. Mcnigger is getting all of this from see the letters t and f in fucking code.

I honestly hope this happens so all the leeches will move on and finally let tf2 die and let actual tf2 players take it over.

I know McNigger is generally retarded. However, he was genuinely right about Half-Life: Alyx for years in advance. He was right about other datamines in advance. And he's almost certainly going to be right about HLX again soon, years in advance. With the trackrecord of his datamining conclusions appearing decently solid, and him appearing to do some level of due-diligence (I.E. him seemingly getting genuinely super pissed at journalists who write insane headlines based off his datamines), I'm willing to believe Valve really is attempting something with the IP at the moment. Does that mean it will ever come out? No, but again, it does seem they're doing something right now, which is what he's reporting, and his explanation of what the code means, on the surface, at least seems sound. What the fuck else would the codename TF mean in this context?

A broken clock is right twice a day.

Could be something like how neon prime became deadlock. TF seems vague enough to still fit into that scenario.

I think at the very least it means that HLX is possibly wrapping up development or close enough to where starting another project isn't a bad idea for efficiency.

It wouldn't surprise me if HLX is the first in a line of new games in old franchises. When they made Portal 2 they started working on HL3 afterwards because Portal 2 rekindled their flame for HL. Of course nothing came of that. Maybe it'll be different this time.
