Can confirm. This is fucking insaneApparently today's update broke ragdoll physics causing people to mass crash
HOW DID THEY SHIP THIS?!Even with ragdolls explicitly enabled via commands, they don't show up at all for me. Then after killing like two people, the game goes 2fps, and then crashes. I usually play with ragdolls manually turned off in my config which seems to stop the crashing, but this is insane.

2fort is great for when you need a long match to get contracts done. But if both teams are good, expect the never ending match from hell and all it takes is one power outage or connection timeout to lose all your progress.

All it takes is like 4 guys on one team to coordinate and it's over. Medic, a couple of power classes, and an ambitious scout/soldier/spy to run to the intel room to get the intel in the commotion. Basic tactics like using the flank route up the battlements or rocket jumping up the hay chute let you get around and wreak havoc from the other side. Yes it's hard to organize in a game with randoms, but that's a playerbase issue. When people actually try to achieve the objective, someone will.

2Fort is good because it's one of the only maps where you can play for a couple of hours with the same people in official matchmaking. If Quickplay wasn't Jilled out of the game, you could do that with any map and it would be less popular. Pre-2016 I hardly played it because there was no need.

But when the other team has a competent defense, those trench raids will take multiple tries before you actually take their intel. I’ve seen it happen with both randoms and on private servers.
I’ve seen come crazy shit happen recently, like earlier this week I was playing with randoms and my team had somehow managed to build an Engie nest in the enemy’s intel room.

I have no idea, I just play on the servers when I can. You have to be mentally fucked and a weirdo to host a TF2/source game server in general in current year, that's the rule now. Staying away from discord and afterhours shit has worked out well for me so far.
Kogasatopia is run by anime nerds (some of whom probably like loli) but they allow gamerwords and micspamming
The 4chan party v/an has a few tranny admins but I can say nigger, faggot and tranny as well as micspam
Zesty Jesus has his muscle girl fetish shit but his servers are nice and also allow gamer words
Uncletopia and Skial are run and populated by tranny control freaks who love their 2fort, turbine, and their 5 payload maps on repeat over and over again.
Casual is fine aside from the bots sometimes but no custom maps or content and sometimes niggers can be kick happy.

Had no idea, last time I played on castaway it was just the flat L&W version. Glad they changed it, I'll probably play there now.
L&W originally had it so revving up did not affect the ramp up and only firing for 1 second removed the dam/acc penalty, which would reset the moment you stopped firing. This is retarded.
JI changed the ramp up to effectively be null after revving up. So yes the ramp up is still there post-JI but not nearly as egregious as the L&W version

As a side note, I'm pretty whitepilled when it comes to these niche/old gaming communities. 5 years ago, everyone thought scenes like doom modding, source modding/servers, and gaming in general were all going to be gatekept by trannies who would exile you from the hobby if you didn't suck the girl cock.
Dead by Daylight and other companies who won't stop consuming the poz load are collapsing slowly
KF has had 2 successful doom megawads even if they're not popular in the broader scene.
Uncle Dane's friend, Idubbbz isn't having fun in general and Uncle Dane doesn't even play on his servers
TF2 alternative community servers are slowly growing
Trannies and useless HR people are being laid off or told to shut the fuck up
I'm being serious when I say all these people are future suicides. They don't have much going on in life, that's why they're such control freaks. They want power, respectability, love but don't want to work for it, they can only plot and scheme for it. Uncle Dane, Liz Fong Jones, Keffals and others have lost contact or have been disowned by their family and other stable emotional support structures. They will stare down the barrel of a shotgun or repent sooner or later. If these people take away my manchild toys away from me, I'll just move on in life.

There are a few or so lolifags frequenting the servers that often get made fun of, but that's it as far as I know.
The reverts are gonna keep me from touching Quickplay if it gets brought back. Playing as Heavy on Castaway is bliss, there's only a few reverts left to make him perfection.

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but much of the TF2 community is being gatekept by trannies. Some tranny-less community server options do exist, but most of the TF2 Source mods out there now are heavily tranny-held and you will get the boot if you don't suck girl cock. Much of the creative portions of TF2 are also heavily gatekept by trannies. Even the few remaining websites for discussing tf2 (teamfortress.tv, Knockout, even Gamebanana threads) are also tranny havens. It's a problem that has yet to be solved.
