On a brighter note, Since there's going to be another MVM update:


It means we're going to get more meltdowns from high tour gambling addicts who need the new items.

Again, the fact that this made it into the game to begin with is concerning.

Except there won't be new items. New items were never promised and according to an email from Eric S. there aren't plans to add new loot.
Eric Smith said the TF team isn't asking for new loot submissions. Doesnt necessarily mean they arent going to use prexisting community-generated content, or create their own aussies.
 
Even if there isn't any new loot, you're still going to see rage because the new update will dilute the MVM player base temporally with new and returning players who haven't touched MVM in years, leading to lot of anger when the high tours get told to fuck off by the weekend warriors type players who just want to mess around and have fun.

It'll probably be some more lazy aussie skins for weapons that don't have them yet.

Australium + Botkiller Fists, Kukri, Bat, Shovel, Bottle, Bonesaw, and Fire Axe lol
 
I would be surprised if Valve doesn't do an Aussie pistol or Shotgun. It would be so easy to do, and make them so much money. It would take an afternoon to model, and make then literal millions of dollars.

If Valve actually tries to push out an MvM update without new drops, then the game truly is dead. It would be such a laughably tonedeaf and suboptimal mistake that only Valve could make.
 
I want to feel his pain too, but the fact that he didn't even bother to build a dispenser nearby tells me he's not a true engie.

They don't have to model it. They just add a new VMT/VTF combo to the shotgun model for the Aussie variant, and slap the respective australium texture VTF in as the $envmap parameter like the rest of the Aussies.

You know Valve, they'll take the most boring option possible. Even if we get new aussies, they'll pick them as they did for Two Cities: single-class metaslave or showoff weapons.
