The ending is the least believable thing about it. It just sounds like it was written by someone who has seen too many movies with "universal lessons" as endings.
 
Update just dropped. It's basically the equivalent of a Halloween/Smissmas, with the bonus of a new gamemode that is Versus Saxton Hale.

The most disappointing part of this update is the massive lack of community fixes. They only fixed one or two things related to MVM, and most of the fixes concern only three maps.
 
Did they ever add the inverted "protect/assassinate" missions from TFC? One time I remember talk of a mode where instead of red trying to kill a civilian player (yellow team) while blue protects, you have one person playing Hale and trying to kill a team while the other has to protect them from Hale.

I'd play that.
 
Apparently VSH is literally completely broken and nobody can get into matches because the game crashes and/or gets stuck on connecting and/or the servers themselves crash. wow, great job, Valve.

It might just be the initial unfamiliarity with them but do the new maps seem like unnavigable clusterfucks to anyone else? Only the player destruction map and sharkbay have clear layouts.

Completely agree, and I like to think of myself like le epic topscore fragger, more than half of the maps are fucking horrid to look at and move around, and are extremely massive for no reason.

The Suijin looking map in particular is the biggest culprit, reeks of total tranny autism and plays like trash while also taking a fat shit on the artstyle, one map had an Adobe photoshop looking font for Christ's sake on the control point signs.

Also the performance on literally every single one of these maps is fucking TRASH, the second I walk to the middle of the map I can see my FPS drop from 200 to 95
 
Christ, this was the update Valve teased us months ago? Clearly I haven't seen a F2P game faulter beyond the magnitude than TF2 has.

What would a welcome update look like? I would like F2P babies to play amongst themselves in casual until they reach a high enough level. I'm sick of playing with half my team being patients of a mental asylum, and the community servers are too trooned out.
Additionally, instead of forcing new content on a game that's packed with content, they should focus on making it as playable as possible. There's already a ton of community fixes that patch the shit they did to fit in more cosmetics. Which leads into another problem: the shitty community cosmetics. Valve used to have guidelines that explicitly said that cosmetics have to fit into the game's art style, yet for some reason they decided to throw that out the window and add cosmetics with weird anime effects. Remove as many of those as possible and give people refunds.

Why is it so hard for Valve, a multi-billion dollar company, and people like Gabe to hire people that know what they're doing? They had to hire a secret contractor to make VAC less of a joke. If they just want to focus on their real money-makers (dota, and counterstrike), then the least they can do is release the source code for their older games like id software does. There was already a massive source leak a few years ago, so it's not like any valuable secrets would get out.

The Last Stand was absolutely pathetic. The maps sucked and the weapons sucked even more. Not to mention that the trannies making the update took it upon themselves to tweak the game's settings (spawn rates, damage, etc were affected because they were "needed" in their shitty campaign), which completely destroyed gamemodes like Survive. They also fixed several fun bugs, such as greenade jumping, for absolutely no reason.

Oh well, at least the Finnish name I can't pronounce player destruction map is pretty good. It's nice to see PD finally has another map outside of halloween and smissmas.
 
At first the new patch "reintroduced Saxton Hale" but it didn't work again, and instead would have you waiting for players forever. They removed it after only half an hour lmfao, just further proof they do not play test jack shit.

Surprisingly right before the mode got rage removed again, I was able to play it with 15 players on distillery, it's actually super fun but it has fan-made voice lines for the mercs/Hale and they're fucking awful, alongside Hale's controls being pretty shitty, then again I only got to play him once. It plays a little different from SourceMod VHS but everyone can climb with melee which makes it solid by default, have to play a bit more to comment on it. I'll miss all the autism hales though, especially Christian Brutal Sniper.
