This video was pretty bad IMO. Out of all the fucking problems this game faces in 2023, the Conscientious Objector is what's on your mind, really? It comes off to me as someone who's just reaching for any kind of video idea that's remotely different from other "TFtubers".

And as much as he tries to write it off, the point of "it's on parents, not Valve" still stands. No company needs to cater to people who are not their target audience, the devs aren't babysitters. Of course I don't agree with kids seeing disgusting pedo loli furry porn, but as someone who played TF2 when I was somewhat young, and saw disturbing shit, I don't blame Valve at all.

Otherwise, it's almost harmless. If I saw random shit, even the innapropriate stuff in my CO, I'd probably laugh it off. Tempest in a teapot.
It's also contextual.

If the Conscientious Objector was an item in say, Roblox, then it would be wildly inappropriate.

But in a game that has people gruesomely and comically dying constantly (either being decapitated, exploded into gibs, or screaming in agony being stabbed or set on fire) it's not really a major issue.

Both of the Team Fortress threads have activity, I’m happy.
Do any of you have funny objectors or named weapons?

Recently watched Solarlight's video on using controllers to play TF2 and was not shocked at all when it turned out to be gyro aiming propaganda.
I've been on a quest for the last few years to try and use gyro aiming in more and more games because in a lot of cases it's the best of both worlds.
Mimicking his setup may be a fun way to return to TF2 after many months of not touching it.

Has anyone here tried it?

I've been playing the shit outta TF2C and the AA rifle is making me wanna quit.
I wish normal TF2 wasn't so bloated, TF2C works like a charm, but normal TF2 runs like absolute ass no matter what config I use.

I’ve been playing a bunch of the Super Zombie Fortress community servers in my free time. It’s pretty fun basically playing a Left 4 Dead/Team Fortress 2/ CoD Zombies game.

tf2r.com, an old raffling site that predated scrap.tf by a few years, is closing down this August after not having more than 5 raffles at any given time since 2015.

Tried TF2C after the new update and promptly quit again because of the AA Cannon. So stupidly OP it isn't even funny. It makes the Heavy practically unkillable at short range. It's like one of those crazy hitscan dynamite guns you'd get in Randomizer. Then again that's on brand for TF2C which is basically all the dumb ideas that were too stupid even for Valve to add.

It's uncanny how every idea they add seems to be something Valve playtested and intentionally left out of TF2. The dynamite pack is grenades, and it causes all the same problems (spamming around corridors hoping to get a kill, throwing it out as a last ditch attempt to get kills), the hunting rifle is exactly what they wanted to avoid with the sniper rifle (headshotting from the hip), the brick (doesn't that just scream "team fortress"?) is the launch sandman, and now the AA cannon is the opposite of heavy's design (putting aside the broken sticky spam aspect to it, interval firing weapons don't work on heavy since he's supposed to be a rapid fire class).
If I wanted this kind of slow-firing explosive I'd play soldier or demo, but TF2C devs don't understand the importance of class distinction.

Valve will say yes to its community, even if they are toxic as sin.

Ideas are a dime a dozen (especially for videogames) and they come up with the worst ones every single time.
It's not that I mind playing TF2, because even in its current state it is still superb. I just wish to see what developers with a brain from 10-20 years could accomplish today. Without the limitations of current globohomo corporations and the prospects of cancellation/complete censorship.

Meanwhile the only indie devs that get a voice are redditors that OD on soylent, estrogen, or both.
Anyway, here's to hoping that a bright future is still possible for videogames and the world in general for that matter.

I can't find the OG image, sorry, but this gets people so mad lmfao, half them don't even know the context and blindly defend it without knowing that its the recent Tranny school shooter. I've had hundreds of autism objectors over the years but I've sold all of them/overwritten them, if they give it the Spray treatment I'll be so MATI.

Also if you guys want that Flair! decal I made I'll post it here for you frens, be sure to save it as "custom_texture_blend_layers.png", then drop it in "tf\custom\userstuff\scripts\items\custom_texture_blend_layers" and use the color decal patcher on GitHub found here.

Makes me wish Hi-Rez Studios didn't completely murder the Tribes franchise.

Oh well...
