Valve recently rolled out a service called SDR (Steam Datagram Relay) which hides IP addresses and acts as valve's own in-house ddos protection among other stuff, you just put -enablefakeip in the launch options for the server.

It has some flaws that wouldn't make it extremely practical (new fake ipv4 is generated whenever the server is started, "view game info" doesn't work iirc, steam://connect/ links don't work, unsure if it will show up in the server browser). But if valve continues to flesh it out might be worth looking into.

Also should note that kogasatopia (pedo touhou /bant/ server) does still exist despite openly banning people for having pronouns in their name and blasting nigger in chat constantly. There's still some based corners of the game (minus them being pedophiles) amongst the faggotry.

If the TF2 devs wanted to do a game-balancing patch (balancing out weapons) and the wrangler gets nerfed, would the community think it was because of the uncle dane video?

Maybe it's for the better. You can't fuck up what you don't touch. The quality of tf2 updates decreased sharply about a decade ago when the steam workshop was introduced, anyway. Ever since then it's been clear that Valve doesn't care beyond shoveling random community-made shit into the game for the autistic NFT dress-up community to spend money on.

Since nobody at Valve seemingly wants to work on tf2, they'd likely have to hire new employees, and chances are they'd either be reddit trannies ready to pump the game full of bullshit or cunts wanting to ruin tf2 by turning it into a sweatfest like OW.
These are literally the only two categories of people still obsessed with updating tf2. Most people don't care anymore, the only thing they want from Valve is a fix to the fucking bots.

Three. Eric Smith, Joshua Ashton and Ficool2. Ficool2 is based as fuck though. He was permanently banned from Knockout.chat for saying kids shouldn't be allowed to get gender surgeries. Ficool and Joshua mostly work on VScript and general bug fixes as contractors.
