I have never seen someone using the gas passer in such a way that kicking them would affect the mission outcome. It's a weapon literally designed to killsteal (because it only activates when your teammates shoot at robots covered in it, which means they're already being shot at, which means they'll already die soon).
Gas Passer's sin is not being a killsteal weapon, but the way Explosion on Ignite is implemented and how the meter is charged. Kind of, gas kills do prevent the attacker from getting Health on Kill procs and other stuff. 300+ damage for 400$ flat-out is egregious, but sits comfortably alongside other broken shit like Explosive Headshot and crit sticky spam. The charge meter being completely unaffected by damage upgrades (further into the waves = instant gas) is a complaint, but same can be said of Sniper's rifles too. These are the generic problems.

The serious problems, IMO, are worse. Because Valve can't code for shit, the explosion has no damage type. Not fire, not blast. This trivializes bots with the Battalion's Backup and FoS Heavies - things that are supposed to push you back and give the bots space. The cloud itself triggers multiple times by just sitting there. You can kill up to 3 little bot swarms dropping down by not clicking a single button. Demo has to click Mouse1 if he laid down a full carpet of stickies and detonates them one-by-one, plus you need at least one brain cell for strategic placement.

All of the above leads to a situation where, if you spend 400$ at the start of the mission and load up on ammo canteens with the rest of the money, you can teleport to the front line, throw a gas can, kill bind and watch bots die to your gas all throughout your respawn time. Put a weapon like that on any class and it kills all their other, more interesting playstyles. Just suicide bomb and stop thinking, don't learn to play. That's fine if you grind tours you paid for, but I play for fun and a bit of challenge. If I wanted a complete cake walk to shut my brain off to, I'd play Cookie Clicker instead.

To cap off this wall of autism, here's a fun thing I've noticed. It may be possible to teamkill a Pyro that's inside his own gas cloud alongside a bot if you shove the coated bot with a Shortstop. Something to do with the shove doing damage in an unorthodox way. I'm about 90% sure I've done this a couple of times, but these situations are so niche that I can't say for sure completely.

As someone who has spent untold hours looking at the source code leaks and official SDK release, part of me wants to say "it's probably like that because Valve had a reason for doing so" but at the same time I know how lazy Valve can be and so it makes sense that they likely forgot to add a damage type or just didn't account for the negative interactions with other aspects of MvM.

I got recommended this initially interesting video about ( what I thought was going to be) the point system in tf2, but it ended up being a preachy political piece, 50% of which isn't even about tf2, to be honest if score / KD ratio seriously stresses people out that much, they should just unbind the tab key or remove it from their hud, better yet do something that doesn't give them that shit ass mindset over a video game in the first place.

Maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about, multiple people said this video brought them to tears.

Guess that means no big summer update - and also that the mobster vip mode has been btfo'd
all these work sloppers are learning what valve did in the 9 years they spent making the game, the vip mode was removed because it sucked ass and was reworked into payload which i one of the best gamemodes ever created.
next they will make a commander class and turn the game into an rts hybrid

When I checked this guys page I notice his old YT username was "Markieer"

I followed the paper trail and found a steam account which used to be under that name, now under "KiT" and he's a former comptard that quit TF2 to play Overwatch instead + turns out he's a Canadian. I can't confirm if this is the same guy but I highly doubt two different people on the planet would create such a gay username in the first place AND also happen to play TF2.

So not only is he using TF2 as a mask to start up a tired breadtuber channel but he doesn't even play TF2 anymore (if not, barely).

But wait, there's more!

He has an old YouTube channel that links into a channel called "Maven" which uploads TF2 content and pretentious video essays, and in his community tab he made a post from 2 years ago linking to his "TF2 focused channel" which is Skrapbook TF2.

He also made a video essay on Hoodwinked on this channel
at 8:07 he shows footage of himself, need I say more?

Keep in mind too this is only because of putting a username through google and steam search, most people do such a shit job at hiding their digital footprints.

What a faggot!

VALVE JUST ANNOUCED A MvM UPDATE.
A few details regarding MVM I learned of recently:
  • Awhile before this announcement (early June allegedly?), a new 1 week trade restriction was placed on golden frying pans.
  • Additionally, Zesty claimed in his recent stream where he briefly discussed the MVM blog post that sometime ago Valve quietly axed community servers from Bootcamp restricting it to Valve only; removing one of the last remnants of Quickplay from the game nearly 9 years after the fact. I discovered a report on the Source GitHub from December about this.

It really is impressive how after all these years Valve still finds new ways to fuck over community servers

Its also highly concerning that they decided to cash in on MvM whales again. Are regular crates not profitable enough anymore?

It's not that normal crates don't bring in the cash just that MvM whales are on a whole 'nother level and should be milked. MvM players haven't even had new content in over 10 years but will still gamble over and over again.
I've played with people with like 6k tours in some servers and they just sound like the most defated and depressed ppl ever. I will admit that I have had a couple dozen tours under my belt but after I got my first auzzie I just cashed out and never played again.

K/D is how you traditionally know you're good at video games.

TF2 is a fairly easy game with a low skill floor. What people miss is that you don't have to be good at FPS's to be good at TF2 (it helps, of course), you have to be good at playing your class and doing your class's job, and the score will reflect this much more than K/D.

Complaining about score and K/D is a massive cope for being bad at TF2, they're uncoupled for a reason, because just getting straight kills isn't the point, the objective is, and the game will reward you for PLAYING THE FUCKING OBJECTIVE. I've had rounds where I top scored as spy with 0 kills, just because I sat on the cart the entire time, for example.

He brings up a few valid points such as backstabs/headshots giving extra points, but instead of proposing a system that actually fixes the system to make score more representative of your contribution (such as getting more points for killing medics, giving more points for killing enemies that have multiple dominations, etc.) he just devolves into a weird political screed.

Lmao at this dumb nigger trying to defend bringing up retarded political bullshit in a fucking TF2 video.

No matter what excuse he gives, the reality is that doing that is the signature move of a faggot and people will rightfully notice and call that shit out.
At least some people responded like a normal person should.

This shaky paper editing style makes me want to throw up. His points were also entirely nonsensical even before he began to sperg out about Musk and AI, as the average TF2 player doesn’t care whatsoever about the scoreboard. It could be removed and the game wouldn’t change at all.

rambling about random things while playing the defense brigade for everything around MyM
there's nothing more to say since he said it a thousand times that he didn't play tf2 in a long while, and he's gonna talk about this game while he shows his buscemi-esque mug while having none of the charm of the actor

e: have it from the horse himself
