BBC got ratio'd hard for this fat dangerhair dyke. And all I can think is 'good'. Clearly wants to push her 'needs more diversity' agenda shit not realising if they actually fucking played, they'd see the game was already fairly inclusive because the game doesn't say 'you just be a huwhite male only'. No RPG does. Ever.

The comments make me happy, though. The BS has been called out. I'm not sure why gatekeeping is considered a bad thing. I don't want these social justice assholes in my beloved hobby.

Do you remember the infamous 'Dare You Enter My Magical Realm' cartoon? I've used that to brutally explain why pushing an agenda in a tabletop gaming is verboten.

"You don't wanna deal with my fetishes, I don't wanna deal with your agendas. Leave 'em at the door."

Breaking News:
Purchase of rulebooks and setting up of game groups has never, in the history of table top games, been restricted to a limited circle of people, literally anyone could have at any time done this if they so desired.

Now, being an obnoxious, entitled twat, that thinks any established group of players has to suffer your ego, that's a whole other thing...

Then how do you explain all VTM games being ran by landwhale females and goth dudes that stepped out of Auschwitz photos?

Easy: Everyone is free to buy that game, just so happens that no one with good taste, propper mental health and intact dignity will touch it.

Well, I like VTM and there's a few decent White Wolf fans here and there, including several here on the Farms.

The problem is that later iterations of White Wolf and Onyx Path have both done everything in their power to shame and scare away any sane people from their games and instead actively pander to the Goth, Punk, and Dangerhair crowds.

And 5th edition went 180 the other way

so it imploded

Your ideas are intriguing and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
You want to get on the OSR train then son

Vampire 5th Edition is a textbook example of what NOT to do when you're writing a new edition of a beloved RPG.

VTM 5E is to 2018 what D&D 4E was to 2008, a grave mistake made from the hubris of the IP holders.

5th edition had interesting ideas

Looks like I'm going to play in a 5th Ed D&D campaign soon, but have little idea of what to play. From the looks of it, I'll need to munchkin it a little in chargen so I don't get rendered irrelevant by the other players, but other than that I'm not sure, especially from a roleplaying perspective. I tend to gravitate towards paladins, but they can be tough in a group, and I'm interested in bards, but I don't really know how they work unless they're already a fully-formed rock god type.

Stick with a pally - I'm yet to find a group that didn't benefit from a strong moral compass and leader. Without someone like that things tend to go the murderhobo route, at least in my experience.
Not that you can't carry that influence as a bard, but dnd is a shit system for twats that is prone to pigeonholing.

I have Venture City for FATE coming in the mail today. I'll keep everyone posted as to how it goes.

To think that anyone back in the day would have turned a girl away from the game group is laughable. Not only does it give you a different perspective, but back when it was nerdy and you had to stay in the gaming closet, having a girl or two in your group was an ace up the sleeve.

"You play D&D??!"...

"Yea, so does (girl 1) and (girl 2), what of it?".

Paladins in 5th are pretty good. I was an absolute BAMF tank by the end, though and if a game being too easy is an issue, I'd steer clear. That may have been the fault of the campaign not scaling appropriately or that I somehow just figured out the most deathdealing Paladin build but there was little that could stop me.
