i mean if i'm objectively wrong there's not much point in arguing, i'm not sure when i said this was a threat to nerd culture though!!
When you say that it's vile, that Black Tokyo (widely considered one of the worst RPGs period) is preferable, and talk about how this is going to just keep growing and is being given "way too much of a pass", that suggests you think there is something deeply wrong about it. Please, elaborate why free corporate shilling is worse than corporate shilling you have to pay for.

you're posting like you're an enlightened atheist from reddit or something, so I'd rather not??

Eh, it's dumb company shit, kinda pandering but it's not like it's endorsed by Wizards of the Coast, Chaosium, or any other major tabletop RPG company. It'll probably used as a quick, ironic joke among my regular group, but nothing we'll take seriously.

Now, if a tabletop company like Wizards does make a brand deal like this for their official games, then that would be an issue, but until they do that, this is just a brand being a brand. Either laugh or cringe at it, then move on with your life.

I concur with the sentiment that the Wendy's RPG is a harmless marketing gimmick. However, once you start to take it seriously....

then you quickly drop off the cliff into idiocy and cringe.

This Wendy's RPG might warrant a Dice Scum Episode on account of simply what in God's name levels of question you ask by this simply existing.

It's like everyone forgot about those ridiculous Burger King games for the XBox. Remember 'Sneak King'?
You can go further back to the days of the Atari 2600. Back to tabletop, I came up with an outline for a Ghostbusters character if my group ever does do a campaign for that.

Speaking of Dice Scum:
Sad to say no fancy editing; too sick atm and I held on this too long.

I have never been able to watch a single episode of Critical Role

You're not missing much. Mercer is a good DM, but Jesus with pork and beans the rest of the group is insufferable. So much SJW twattery. That fucking show I feel is partially responsible for all the woke shit seeping into tabletop. Not to mention every asshole you run across now wants their D&D game to play EXACTLY like Critical Role instead of developing their own theme and style.

And Will Wheaton and Felicia Day stick their grubby mitts into it on more than one occasion..

I do TT games every Sat at my FLCS/FLGS and every other Sunday and (usually) every tuesday and i dont run into that

ohhh THAT critical role. tbh I really liked wil wheaton's board game videos before TDS overtook him, even though he played them wrong it was pretty instrumental in getting me into them

I've tried playing board games irl plenty of times but apparently my friends at the time had pretty shit taste. 7 wonders, Munchkin, and Settlers of catan put me to sleep, but wil wheaton got me to buy king of tokyo and that was a blast

We don't have that issue because the group I am in is heavily contained between friends.

Travis is pretty good.

But yeah the rest of them are pretty much a bunch of wokesters with little else going on personality-wise. Plus with it being livestreamed they never shave off any of the irrelevant bullcrap in editing, so you end up with four hours of video with maybe an hour of real content.

The guy who wrote this game is deffo on the SJW side, but it's won some awards, and the full version is free for the next couple of days of anyone wants to download it. If you liked Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, you should like this.

You should, at most, take basic cliff notes from Critical Role, never try to emulate it.

Well shit, I missed it.
