GURPS. When in doubt, GURPS.
From what I heard, the system has a lot of books, but I think I got a selection for a Persona game without Personas.

The core books, because duh
GURPS Lite, because none of us have played before.
Monster Hunters (1-3, 6)
Action (2)

Anything else that might work?

Are there any tabletop rpgs that would run well as a Persona game? I’m trapped in the Persona pit of hell right now and I want to drag my irl friends in with me.
For context, they’ve only played D&D 5e, while I’ve also played Pathfinder 1e and Masks (a Powered by the Apocalypse game). One guy has shown interest in Call of Cthulhu though.

You could run a Persona game using Mutants and Masterminds. Liberal spending of points in the "summon" power for the different types of demons as an example. It's primary a supers tabletop game, but it has an incredible amount of flexibility and character customization. Some tinkering could easily make it happen.

Most horrifying thing I've fond in TTRPG's currently...A sex oriented furry RPG exists. Apparently it's been around since 2017.

Ero-tabletop RPGs are always a cesspool of degeneracy, just look at FATAL and Zettai Reido. I know GURPS Sex exists, but that's for non-deviants.

So, they're trying to bring back Big Eyes Small Mouth for a new edition.

As a fan of the old BESM, I am intrigued and cautiously optimistic. Yes. Mark C. MacKinnon fucked up and did some shitty things when Guardians of Order went under, but that was over a decade ago and the fact he's willing to even enter into the gaming industry at all is surprising and a good sign that he's learned from his mistakes.

Some people are pre-emptively boycotting this new edition because of MacKinnon's past mistakes, but I doubt we will see a repeat of it, given that he had to re-license the rights to BESM from White Wolf/Paradox and they would not have signed off on it if they didn't think the project has some potential.

I'll stay cautiously optimistic, but I'll stick with BESM 2nd edition for now. I'll just wait for new development to be posted.

I now have a copy of Monsterhearts. "A Story Game About the Messy Lives of Teenage Monsters"....

Why does this have exist?

Other than all the teen sex, is the game any good?
Still parcing through it. Not a fan of the artwork inside, at least what they consider artwork. Monsterhearts2 should be coming out soon so I'll see if I can get a copy of that too and compare them one day.

I look forward to what you can tell us.

Uses d6 dice
Creator doesn't care if their game isn't good enough to come back to it on page 6
Characters are called "skins" (they're just templates)
GM is called a MC because why not?
Apparently unlike a real RPG where people can play as the same class, in Monsterfuckers you have to ask the MC and explain why you want to play that skin
Stats include the following.
Hot means fucking gorgeous, alluring, exciting, smokin’, someone you can’t stop thinking about, magnetic.
Cold means stone-cold, calculating, collected, unwavering, frigid, able to be cruel and merciless, able
to keep their wits about them, obstinate.
Volatile means impulsive, wild, feral, quick-tempered, quick to fight or flight, aggressive, unpredictable, a
basket-case, sudden.
Dark means weird, mysterious, sinister, dabbling in the occult, comfortable in darkness, able to liaise with
otherworldly forces, powerful.

In a game where you play teenagers there are sex moves, I guess because the people behind this are deranged and should be locked
up.
Chapter one, which is supposed to be about character creation doesn't actually start you off with getting you into character creation.
Skins, if you've read any teen dark romance novels you know what to expect here, or watch any of the Vampire Diaries series.

There really isn't a lot of rules in the game, it's like it was made by someone who didn't get how to make a tabletop game and just wanted to play a game where you fuck teenagers. You can easily just start off making a character that can only have sex and be useless at anything else in the game.

The game runs off of Apocalypse apparently and was made by a man named Joe Mcdaldno. I think the police should probably take a look on his hard drives.

Also, Powered by the Apocalypse games include Kult and Masks, as well as Dungeon World. This is no where close to being as good as thoughs

The book is supposed to be done by a Avery Alder but she's no where in the credits. Maybe she worked on the second game.

Anyone know of any we wuz kangz tier rpgs? I think Tumblr tried to get one made but it died horribly.
Swordfall, a "Afropunk" rpg was kickstarted so unless they run with the money you can play that.

Nyambe: African Adventures also exists, I always found that it tried to be Black Conan. There is some decent stuff in it though.
