I'm starting up a new piece for the Storyteller's Vault which will be an ebook for foes for Vampire the Masquerade. (Some are lesser known official characters I wanted to flesh out.) The characters are...

  • Adam Kramm: A weary hunter with a brain tumor who believes he sees Vampires everywhere.
  • Atali: A religiously-fueled Sabbat who uses her dark faith, dancing and beauty to find an identity from a life that was cut short. (She's from my published fan-created bloodline.)
  • Children of Forseti: A trio ancient, hedonistic Tzmisce that took the challenge of dedicating their unlives to goodness, creating a "unique" system of rewards and punishments for the virtuous and vile.
  • Gordon Burroughs: A Giovanni Ghoul who became paralyzed from the neck down due to his master's foolishness and has now broken him down so hard that the Vampire is now his broken-spirited caretaker and performs his schemes.
  • Gorgo She Who Screams At Darkness: An ancient Nosferatu whose vanity and greed destroyed every bit of her until her rage and insanity is all that is left.
  • Tersa: A Vampiric abomination made from bits of the abyss itself who preaches her "father's" message to heal this world.
  • The Eater: A Methuselah so desperate to escape his own feelings of inferiority that he "eats" other's identities to fill the void and enter another cycle of self-destruction.
So far, I've finished Adam's entry.

So, I picked up Star Trek Adventures and am looking through it.

It seems decently put together. It's a 2d20 system like Call of Cthulu. I'm thinking of experimenting with running a game for that.

Sorry, I will not allow a Horta science officer. Or any officer.

Is there a preview or starter's pack for this? I don't want to drop however much £19.99 is in $ before I know it's any good.

It's $16.92 for the PDF on drivethrurpg. I'd say it's worth it. I'm finding it to be better than Decipher system. Next book in the series is going to be one on ships I believe. It's mostly a book on missions though giving you an idea on different types of missions you'd see in the TV shows and books.

I'm organizing a game with a few Kiwis to give it a run.

Good marketing with putting the big draws of Star Trek into their own sourcebooks. People want a lot of ships, and people want to have many options of races. I mean, who doesn't want to play a Pakled engineer?

Some odd choices for their starter races, but I'm glad they have the four Founders. Interesting that they have Denobulan. I guess it's to represent the one alien species on the NX Enterprise that isn't Vulcan. Right now, though, we're just using some homebrews for the Bolians and... yeah, Caitians.

In case you don't have it, here's a homebrew blog for the game

Yeah, that's what we're using. I lost a potential player because I wouldn't let them play a Horta doctor.

They would make for a good assistant given their abilities, but the ships main doctor? Fuck no! You'd die.

Hey, would anyone be interested in playing a Call of Cthulhu-based oneshot on Friday?

Has anyone checked out Wicked World's Cold and Dark science fiction game yet? It's a rather old game (Released in 2012) but it's not a bad science fiction game from what I've seen so far. It could be a good game to play a sci-fi horror game. I just wish I could find more books with a similar system to add on to it.

I just started playing a Mutants & Masterminds game every other Sunday. It's on SKype and I had fun.
