I'll have to recheck that. Kindred of the East wasn't my most favourite supplement because I felt like they didn't do enough research into what the East considers to be a "vampire"
They did but then they have to take all that and wedge it into a rule set/ meta that fits with vampire the masquerade

They are, you just have to take the flesh shintai discipline. The second dot let's you detach your head and you need the Jade shintai level 4 discipline to float around.

lol you have to wait until 4th dot to even do anything useful with your detached head

Certain types of "vampires" fit better in other lines like Demon and Wraith. Like Jumping Vampires in China fit Wraith more. They already have rules for Nukekubi, but Rokurokubi could fit something like Beast (oh gods) or Werewolf a bit more. Lamashtu is easily done in Demon. Alps would be more Demon or Wraith like, possibly even Beast if you go with the idea of Nightmares.

I might get the chance to run a Vampire: The Masquerade and I've been fascinated with Woodwwad's reboot (especially since I also think the Brujah should've been a Sabbat clan). (And yes, I know about the sexual assault charges.) Since I'll be doing the first edition Chicago by Night setting and going on from there, I decided to challenge myself by altering the cast to fit this new reboot. Though I will have some slight tweaks like the Gangrel still being Camarilla, keeping Visicitude, the Malkavians always had Dementation and are treated like priests and seers in the Sabbat and I will be throwing in my bloodline (a hybrid of the Toreador and Noseratu).

So far, I've gone through the Brujah, and I can share my progress to anyone who is interested.

I'm personally slowly turning Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, Dragonlance and D&D core rule book spells and feats into Pathfinder compatible feats and spells. I noticed that some feats are more like traits so I have to rework some of those. I also need to work on old Dragon Magazine stuff and Eberron. After that, some Scarred Lands stuff.

Once I'm done with the feats and spells I'll be working on magical items.

Say, there's a fan conversion for Ravenloft you might like.

I'm about more than half way through my cast conversion and will be studying up on the first adventure in the Chicago Chronicles. I just really hope I can get at least two of my co-workers to play.

2ed Chicago by night is better imo, more streamlined group of npc's and better plots.
Actually, I'm running the whole Chicago Chronicles plotlines so I need to use the first edition.

Critias: He's a Brujah Antitribu since he finds the Sabbat not to his liking. He sees them as childish and too focused on chaos than real change.

Balthazar: Pretty much the same.

Joshua/Blackjack: Since there are no anarchs, I made him a Lasombra who was chosen to weaken the Sabbat's hold on the socialist movement and unions. With the demise of socialism in America, he's lost power and face among his clan. He feels like he needs to do something to enhance his standing.

Karl and Dooley: Sabbat members (both Brujah from the same sire). Karl does have issues with Joshua since he used to be the Joshua's Ghoul (since he was a talented orator) and was dumped when he outlived his usefulness due to a major screw-up.

Nick Cave: A Mortal now in his 60s who knows of the existence of Vampires. Given his "allergy" to Vampire blood, all attempts to Ghoul/blood bound him have failed. Thus, no one wants to embrace him.

Anita: An independent Ghoul who helps out pretty much any decent vamp in need.

Damien: a member of the Camarilla via Critias (secretly). He can sense an ancient voice "speaking" to him and planning something big. He knows that Critias is his sire, but agreed to keep it secret so Damien could live his own life. The rare times they have secretly talked, Critias has given him cryptic messages on how to handle the voice. As for his relationship Balthazar, both men know each other's secret (Critias is his sire and Neon is Balthazar's childe) which has lead to tension and power games between them.

Frenchie: Joined the Sabbat to get his revenge and be with the "real Brujah".

Gengis, Tyler and Travis: Sabbat members.

Gordon and Madame: Gordon has gained some reluctant acceptance in the Camarilla thanks to using Madame's brothel and his financial smarts to make it more profitable. The fact that he's only a Caitiff makes him despise Dooley even more.

Dickie: Joined the Sabbat and became a Pander after the death of his lover.

Maldavis: She's not sure why the Primogen pulled some strings to make her a member of the Camarilla and was still allowed to live when she tried to get create a revolution among the disenfranchised members and lone Caitiff. It obviously failed.

Uriah: Pretty much the same.

Neon: Since Damien has Critias and the Camarilla to protect him, he claimed Neon was his childe and that he "wanted to save his "little brother" from the occultists". So now he can take care of and dangle the boy over Balthazar's head. Neon is now a Brujah instead of a Caitiff.

Tremere Members: Now Capadocians.

Mom, Dad, Son and O'Leary: A family of recluse Malkavians who both factions keep their distance from.

Gangrel and Toreador Members: The same.

Lasombra Members: Lasombra, I altered it that it was the Lasombra that had an interest in Chicago's socialism movements as a way to have a stake (no pun intended) in Chicago's power base. I made Horace a Lasombra (he still has paranoia) who had a genuine interest in socialism until the movement died and that Joshua and Tommy are his childes. (Lodin has plenty of childes to spare.)

Nosferatu Members: The same except that Eulice (sp) is now Sabbat to protect himself from his sire.

Sounds cool to me. I hope your campaign goes well.

I'm going to be running a campaign for my younger brother soon, and I am trying to decide between running Vampire: The Requiem First Edition or a Ravenloft campaign using D&D Fifth Edition.

Picked up the recent Ironfang Invasion AP book and still not a fan of it. Even the monsters in the back in the bestiary section are rather meh. The two NPC's stated aren't memorable either.

At least the new Pathfinder Bestiary 6 is rather useful, however it's more for late to end game characters as there are a lot of monsters listed that are CR20 or more, from Archfiends to Kaiju and even some random powerful monstrous humanoids and magical creatures.

I tend to just use the core books and on occasion a few equipment or supplement books for a reason. That reason being that it minimizes my ability to run into terrible settings, I don't have to provide more books to players who will not read them all, and it allows me to use my magical brain creativity for once in my life.

Usually AP's are pretty good, but Ironfang seems to just be an AP created just so that SJW's, Tranny's and Feminists can work on it. None of them seem to know what they're doing. Their adventures are horrible, there's no reason to help the poorly created NPC's. None of the information about the towns and cities is any good and none of the creatures in the AP bestiaries are any good either. This is by far the worst AP I've seen. Even worse than the OP 3.5 AP's that came out.

What is your favorite published D&D setting?

Mine is Ravenloft.

Mine used to be Forgotten Realms until Ed Greenwood lost creative control of his own setting thanks to the TSR buyout. After that probably either Greyhawk or Blackmoor.
