So he's a mostly normal Antitribu then. ;)

Mainly since nothing in here besides somehow not getting killed by the amount of bullyboys and bounty hunters he would indubitably piss off is that egregious or conflicts with that. Heck, Sabbat do what you're talking about a lot; La Sombra especially. Though I remember the antitribu more for just being samey as their clan kin, since I played Revised.

I would have gone with Assamite, but I wanted someone who would see "Ventrue" and just think he's your typical pretty boy with a superiority complex. Not someone who wants to burn the city he's in to the ground. He never wanted to be a vampire but his sire saw in him something that could be molded to his needs and eventually be a living weapon long after he was gone. I will be fleshing out his backstory more this week.

He's old enough to be a Strategoi and probably would be considered a Lictor, even if he himself doesn't know or acknowledge the title. His Sire managed to lie about him so he could be Embraced.

I've been currently planning on how to use Fortitude and Quietus together thematically, essentially his Sire wanted him to be an unstoppable force. At times he'll remember his Sire telling him "My Will will be done regardless" never knowing what his master meant only that he needs to destroy his enemies. (anyone who did him wrong, such as those who locked him away, or those who dare attack him)

I've also been working on tying in a Daughter of Cacophony as his "Sleeping with the Enemy" flaw.

Eesh; Quietus and Fortitude? You might as well have just made an Assamite Vizier or something with that set-up, since the only difference discipline wise is you dropped super speed in favor of a bigger soak pool that can even take Agg Damage. About the only difference is they'd not be a part of any major faction outside of maybe if you want the Ashirra to be a thing like what I did in my campaign.

Not that I'm much better; I sent a Gangrel who was a ghoul at one point at my party in my second campaign; she nearly killed them thanks to those claws of hers, and it was only because they both had light armor that neither kacked it. They hated the Loonie who sent her on them ever since, and were so happy when they finally caught him... only after nearly getting choked to death by a fucking La Sombra.

Playing as a non-typical Clan vampire can play a lot into a story because NPC's wont know who's doing shit. Like my Ventrue still has a point into Dominate and Presence, but I account that to his Sire originally training him, but "mind games" would never get them far so he would focus on going with Fortitude and Quietus instead. Mental skills are also useless to him, if he's to kill vampires he needs to focus on Physical skills instead.

Unless I'm a group with a bad DM/ GM/ Storyteller I prefer to create a character for the story. Otherwise I'll make a completely broken character.

I would suggest obfuscate over quietus, imo. It's way more versatile, especially when agg is so easy to get with just two dots of protean.

Given that he was locked up for so long, I thought RPing a vampire who can basically twist another persons blood for his own ends would be fun, there's always that temptation to consume it even if in some cases like humans that aren't redheads (what? who doesn't like redheads?) he wont get anything out of it or consume the blood of another vampire which to him is completely disguising.

quietus does have a lot powers that use blood. Scorpion's Touch and Baal's Caress for instance. Things like that is what I wanted for the character.

Speaking of paths, that was how one of my players whoopsed a masquerade violation. He used Thaumaturgy to kill a vamp after he used level one Obtenebration to try and cheese it and thought that disciplines were fair game (he didn't think that shadow play could just be played off as faulty lighting). He did this in an alley way that mouthed into a decent sized square with a couple dozen people (including a victim they saved who rightfully screamed). I applaud their heroism and I get his logic, but he has a habit of not thinking. It's how he nearly died to an Assamite actually; they both nearly killed the other due to the Assamite poisoning his blood, and my player fucking him up by absorbing his blood.

I find that Vampire and Werewolf were the only games that ever got any real love by players followed by Changling and then Mage. The rest of the games no one really bothered with. I think Hunter would have been interesting, Demon can make some fun characters to RP. Though Wraith you're completely fucked over it seems. The rest people just forget they exist.

You can't even really find players for an Exalted game, a franchise I think would be a fun video game or at least a miniature game.

I really like the idea of Hunter, if only because my other playthroughs of other WoD games taught me that, yes, supernatural creatures are total dicks.

My experience is the following:

VtM: Best odds of getting a group going. Is often full of edge and they may or may not powergame like fuck due to wanting to be badass, but decent lot if you filter.
Werewolf: Second best odds of starting a group, but hands down the worst lot of players that Whitewolf had until more recent iterations. Seriously, I would only ever play a round with people I already knew.
Mage: Lowish chance of getting a group going, but best lot of players is my experience. Also can be very fun.
Changeling: Lowest chance of reliably getting a group. Schizoid mix of players ranging from edgy due to the NWoD to a mix of oddballs and manchildren due to OWoD based on predictions, since I've never seen a game of either
The Rest: haha no. You wasted money buying them unless you got really lucky with Demon.

As an aside, reminds me of how I would probably enjoy Promethean based on the book I read on it.

Promethean is a fantastic game if you can find someone willing to run it - that's the real trouble with Promethean. If you're willing to run a game though, I'd be down to play in a heartbeat.

I think I have all the material for Promethean but I never really bothered to go through it because it was just one of those games no one else cared about in my area.

I have other RPG's that look interesting, some new, others decently old I'd like to play but I know I'd never find anyone to play them with.

Do you have Promethean 2e? It's great, very well written. If you're willing to run a game on discord or anything let me know I'd love to give it a shot.
