Daniel Fox is desperate for people to play his Zweihander game and to kill off another share thread (4chan) like he did with 7chan. Probably do even more damage too like what 7chans /tg turned into.

Personally, play Warhammer Fantasy RPG's instead. More source books and better rules. Humble Bundle often has collections of them for sale. It's well worth your time than his clone.

Hey, just wanted to put out an interest check, would anyone be interested in joining a high-level D&D 3.5 campaign I run on Tuesday evenings? It's best described as a weird mix of Spelljammer and Call of Cthulhu.

That does sound interesting but Tuesdays aren't good for me. Still, I wish you the best of luck and hopes your campaign goes well!

How high level? Why books/feats are allowed? Can we drop in and out?

Currently at level 19, and will probably go into epic levels. Pretty much all 3.5 books are allowed. Drop in/drop out is acceptable.

Turns out ole' satyr Phil has back arthritis and can't sit for long periods of time. Looks like Opp has run into another snag on a kickstarter :story:

How do you feel about non lethal damage in your games?
Well, if you're playing a melee fighter, be prepared to compete with two characters who can literally deal damage equivilant to nuclear weaponry. I'm not joking about that.
(otherwise I'm fine with non-lethal damage)

I need to do some double checking but if the feat trees from Pathfinder and D&D 3.5 match up somewhat, I could do some massive damage as well with a thief.

So I recently learned about fate core and FAE. I like that is freeform but I feel like it's a bit restricting in terms of tone. Basically, it's impossible to fail. You can do it in other games but not this.

Played it, didn't like it. The pretty subjective tone made everything feel too vague and floaty to me, I needed something crunchier. I appreciate the concept of a rules-light game in theory, but in practice I've been rubbed the wrong way by every one I've tried.

Shucks. I was considering making my own rpg but people keep on telling me it's impossible. I think maybe I should with some aspects of cards thrown save for the things people might not like about it.

Nothing beats Mythic Feather Fall in Pathfinder.

Been contemplating joining, just doing some work on a character.

I've been DMing World of Darkness (with Super Hero homebrew modifications) for the last three months. The system is very interesting both for me and the players.

It feels like you fall into clouds which are themselves stuffed with softer clouds.

Ever heard of the Tunguska event? That's pretty much what's left when you use Mythic Feather Fall. You will kill everything in the game up to CR 30 with it. Probably quite a few of the Epic level monsters found in Immortal's Handbook: Epic Bestiary.

The spell affects one additional target per level. The targets don’t have to be within 20 feet of each other.
Augmented (4th): If you expend two uses of mythic power, the spell absorbs the targets’ velocity and transforms it into a concussive blast. Targets fall at the normal rate (not slowed) but land safely. When a target lands, it creates a 10-foot-radius burst of force that deals 1d6 points of damage per caster level (maximum 5d6, Reflex half, DC equal to the DC of feather fall). The targets of this spell are unaffected by these concussive blasts

I did this when Mythic rules first came out and played in a single game of Wrath of the Righteous, used Mythic Feather Fall and was never called back.

Guys, want tabletop games would you suggest for a beginner? I know about roleplay but never partake in a genuine campaign that took months to complete.

GURPS.

But in all seriousness, it depends on what you like. Pathfinder/D&D are the classic options, but each edition has its own flaws:
-D&D 1e: Rougher than prison sex, elf and dwarf are classes.
-D&D 2e/3e: Like 1e, but slightly more sensible.
-Pathfinder/D&D 3.5e: There's an ass-ton of options and like a third of them can assfuck you unless you're very clever with them.
-D&D 4e: It's a wargame.
-D&D 5e: Like a lobotomized 3.5.

Hmmm. Usually I don't like DnD all that much but I might give it try.

I'm mostly into narrative based games in all honesty but thanks for the suggestions ^^. (also, I love the world of darkness. some, classic ones and some news ones.)

Fate rules are very easy to get into, same with Savage Worlds.

The D&D 5e starter set is very good for newbies. Give it a try.
