The entire Elijah Schaffer story arc has been an amazing journey.
This guy lives a media dream - gets picked up by The Blaze in 2018, gets it's powerful and mercurial owner and chief talent, Glenn Beck, as a personal mentor, and grows his show under his protective aegis. He blows up in 2020 with Floyd riot coverage, the company deems his lunatic antics 'edgy showmanship' and defies any attempt at canceling him. His protection is so complete that he manages to dodge ANY charges for his participation in J6 by The Blaze fully shielding him in 1st Amendment privileges as a journalist (plus their attorneys). He gets married to an attractive Australian woman in all this, throwing everyone's Gaydar predictions into chaos. By the end of 2021, he even gets on as a hired gun for You Are Here - a show designed to appeal to the Very Online to grown Blaze market share and raise the profile of it's contracted hosts. This lets Schaffer to tap into his Zoomer era Con Inc compatriots for guests on an over produced, well marketed show designed specifically for his talents. Things could not be better!
By the end of 2022, this dumb jabroni motherfucked every single thing he has going for him. You Are Here's rise and fall arc concluded in months, with Schaffer so high on his own bullshit that he immediately alienates his second mic (right after their most viral success) and scuppers the show. He makes the galacticly stupid choice of talking shit about his mentor/boss's religious affiliation live on the air, causing him to sever ties and drop his protection. He was chronically unable to keep his hands to himself, not only cheating on his wife but doing so with someone within his own professional circle (thus guaranteeing it would become wildly known and come out at the least opportune time for him). Now without Beck's protection finds himself fired via statement by The Blaze and plenty of floated rumors he was playing grab-ass with his middle aged coworker. Thise loses him his nice studio, his ready-made guests, his brokered sponsorships, and acess to The Blaze's walled garden, and all the marketing they did on his behalf.
He now sits in a small office against the classic green screen backdrop with worse equipment, getting by with D-tier sponsors, and his YouTube channel with a half million subs netting him barely over 10k views an episode. Most of his old associates and guests are now sotto voce talking trash where and when they can, and his shows are low energy trash. All his viral success and bright future completely wasted within 12 months, all by his own bad decisions. To top it all off, he is now forced to eat ulimited shit with no comment as his ex co-host confirms everything you ever guessed about this psychotic man-baby.
What a fucking ride!
