Who do you think is going to win? If you are Swedish, who are you planning to vote for?

>MP and KD above four percent for the first time in months
>SD is still bigger than M
>S still the biggest party but 24,9 % is ridiculously low for a party that used to get 40-50 % of the votes once upon a time
>The "Red Green" bloc (40,4) is bigger than the Alliance (37,7)

And they were SAP in the beginning, later shortened to S, like how VPK(roughly translated to "The Left Party Communists") became V when the soviet union went under in 1990. Keeping it familiar might make it easier to retain old voters?

Don't hear much about KPML(R) these days("Communist Party Marxism-Leninism(Revolutionaries"), that was always a pretty memorable abbreviation/designation. All the old racist groupings from the 90's seems to have gone away as well, like Bevara Sverige Svenskt("Keep Sweden Swedish") and Vi Som Byggde Sverige("Those that built Sweden" - seemed like old laborers and construction dudes, they appeared to mostly put up posters/stickers and send opinion pieces to the local newspapers).

Now they're all exceptional and have bad names. Svenskarna Parti("The Swedes Party"), the biggest of the bads, got 4,189 votes out of the total 6,290,016 votes that were cast. They're the ones we should be afraid of because they're about to take over the country through armed revolution or start waves of terror attacks.

(I'm looking at the results from the last election)
The Animal Owners Party got 3 votes, I wonder what they're all about.

Oh, it's pitbulls.
KPML(R) are still alive and kicking, they have just switched names to Kommunistiska partiet (K). I actually received advertising mail from Sveriges kommunistiska parti (skp) a few days ago:

As for the big bads Svenskarnas parti, they actually had to dissolve after the last elections due to their lack of success. Nowadays it's Nordiska motståndsrörelsen (NMR) that's all the rage in nazi circles.

Didn't a lot of the people in Svenskarnas Parti go to AFD (Alternativ för Sverige)? Which is more of a alt-right style party rather than the literal nazis of NMR.

I really haven't kept up lately, but I assume AFD (Alternativ för Sverige) is similar to the German AFD (Alternativ für Deutschland)

Oh, that explains it, it seemed strange that RKU("Revolutionary Communist Youth") would still be around if the parent party went away.

Do you know if the anarchists still refuse to organize?

What's the difference between the Animal Party (who got 4,093 votes) and the Animal Owners Party?

If I remember it right, and I haven't heard anything about them in ages, they're a sort of PETA-like party but with a composed and more friendly exterior. Maybe a bit like the Sinn Fein to the local ALF or whatever those groups call themselves these days. I don't remember their name but one group(they caused some chaos in the 90's and early '00s) was like the Antifa for animals or something... @ATaxingWoman do you have any clue who they are/were?

AfS are a more radical nationalist party than AFD

@Smaug's Smokey Hole Seems like it, although the trade union federation SAC is still alive and kicking.

As for the Animal Party, it is similar to the Dutch political party Party for the Animals (PvdD). The party's cornerstones are things like animal rights/welfare and environmentalism. Given that it is more or less a requirement for all party representatives to be vegan and absolutely mandatory for the party leader + secretary to be vegan (according to their own homepage http://djurensparti.se/fragor-svar/) , I think it is accurate to describe them as a soft PETA.

@ATaxingWoman oh yeah, should've thought of SAC(the Syndicalists, anarcho-syndicalists, and also a union), they organize and show up in the 1st of May marches and are generally not welcome to join the established parties, that might change from place to place though. They're very small and their influence tiny but their demands are enormous. They went on strike in Stockholm once, it inconvenienced me a bit because one subway train every other hour on one specific line wouldn't run for a while. That's what happens when three people go on strike.

I think that SAC members tend to vote Social Democrat on principle because of the control of the trade unions.

They run around V in an attack pattern though, trying to get representation. Probably because V is the only ones acknowledging that they exist. They're like a thing that orbits the Pluto of politics.

I don't think NMR participate in elections. Maybe it was some joke or unofficial voting sheet?

Any party that reached sufficient size (I believe 1 or 2% for the main parliament, maybe more in the regional's?) get their voting sheets distributed to all election stations. Smaller parties need to distribute them themselves by partymembers and supporters visiting individual stations and place them there (or of course sending them out in the mail or write-in on a blank sheet).

So it's not uncommon for people to drop in to the voting stations during the weeks leading up to the election to drop off sheets for the more obscure parties.

The Nordic Resistance Movement (NMR) does indeed run in this election, but they used to claim to be strictly a "militant" organization and were opposed to elections in general.

The fact that the Party of the Swedes (SVP) called it quits some years ago seems to have led them to think they might have chance at glory.

SVP were more of a Cosplay/Hollywood Nazi outfit that went through all these word-salad name changes over the years, they started out as the National Socialist Front, then became the People's Front and used a logo that looked like it had been swiped from a refrigerator, then Party of the Swedes. They only received about 4000 votes in the general election of 2014 and dissolved after that.

The NMR are veteran nazis though, they are mostly the 3rd- and 4th-generation descendants of the OG Hitler Fan Club. NMR is a WEIRD outfit, even when compared to other european nazis. As I mentioned above, it's a "family business" and I think the prisons are their only real source of new recruits. They are very insular and cult-like and have effectively created a parallel society for themselves. They have some territorial imperative thing going on where they have clustered around the town of Ludvika. Their members tend to be rather incapable of creative thought and are somewhat dependent on having a boss nazi telling them what to think about things, since having personal opinions are "disloyalty to the movement" or something like that.

They are mostly interested in wearing uniform clothing and marching in formations with banners. Their party platform is all about the Jewish Question and racial purity, not so much anti-immigration.
