Do people really think Sora will get in?

Cosndiring like with Cloud, his English VA would or maybe Union only. Even if they use archive clips.

They would rage if his voice was Japanese only, lol.

The bigger issue would probably be that Disney owns the rights to the character in the first place.

So after Terry who do you think the female fighter will be? Shantae? Jill? Lara Croft? Aloy?
The girl from Control?

Aloy is owned by Sony, so that's out. Control is a brand new game and isn't even coming out for the Switch. Lara Croft would be a trip, but I generally don't see it. Shantae is already in the game as a spirit. Not to say that her being a spirit deconfirms her or anything, but its worth noting. Jill? Capcom may prefer Christ Redfield or Captain Comb-over himself, Leon S. Kennedy, to Jill, if they were to add a Resident Evil character at all.

Like the DQ music fiasco and Cloud Drama. I don't see Sora's ugly ass face in Smash. TBH, Sora's a generic character in my eyes.

I don't get it regardless - if you were going to get Disney/SQENX to license a character from Kingdom Hearts why the fuck would you not just go for Mickey, Donald, or Goofy. Disney has a gigantic roster of iconic characters and Sora isn't even in the top 50 over there.

Like I'd rather they put niggas from Ducktales in smash.

As cool as that would be, smash only includes characters that originated from video games in smash.

I rather see the Richest Duck in media than Sora. At least Scoorge is a badass.

I wonder what Sakurai and his development team were thinking when they made this stage. Not to be mean when I say that. I just find it really cute that they were considering making this a stage.
It's a test stage from early in development designed to test different types of terrain and the level building toolset. It was never meant to see the light of day.

They needed a background image for perspective and to make sure everything worked ok, and they had that cafe one lying around.

They were never considering making it a real stage.

This post is probably fake just decided post because everyone was talking about it on other places.

This is abit unrelated but stuff like this makes sometimes long for the days when we thought someone like cloud or banjo would be impossible to be in not because I don't them in but it feels like Pandora's box was open when cloud was introduced I can't be the only who roll eyes everytime they see people going *insert character for smash*and writing a essay about who should get in and who doesn't get in. Might just be looking in the past with nostalgia goggles but still imagine if someone like Wiifit or Rob get in now of days considering how they reacted to Terry. Makes me glad I mostly play the game with a small group of friends and don't interact with the wider fanbase.

Okay, I didn't notice this list till today, but, a few comments:

1. Sora: Unlikely, based solely on the fact that Nintendo would have to go with through Disney to get him in, and that might not be doable. Not to say he couldn't make a good fighter, but we've already got two representatives from Square Enix (Hero and Cloud), so I doubt Nintendo want to add yet ANOTHER Square Enix rep, especially with all of the extra licensing hoops they would have to jump through.

2. Gundam: Nigga, fucking what? GUNDAM? What, will they resize the mobile suits to be people sized? I mean, its possible I suppose; Gundam is owned by Bandai Namco who are already involved in Smash's development and have good representation in game, and there have been a number of Gundam games. But I don't see it happening. This is like the "Goku" of this list.

3. Bandanna Dee: FUCK BANDANNA DEE!!!!

4. Waluigi: He's already an assist trophy. It ain't happening.

5. Steve: FUCK MINECRAFT STEVE!!!!! Besides, we've already got Banjo and Kazooie. Why do we need Steve?

6. Jibanyan: I mean, I guess its possible, but I don't know how popular Yokai Watch is to even justify including him. Hell, he's only ranked in EUROPE, not even in his home country. I've seen no massive movement online to get him included.

7. Agumon: I don't think a Digimon is impossible. Hell, I'd be cool with it. Just not sure Nintendo would swing to include Digimon in Smash.

8. Heavy: Fuck no.

9. Arle Nadja: A Puyo Puyo character? Really? Well I think she technically originated in Mado Monogatari, but still, this character has basically no following outside of Japan. No way Nintendo would add such an oblique character.

10. Byleth: Actually quite possible, but considering how this fighter's pass is setup, I don't see Byleth being a fighter's pass character. Maybe a free DLC fighter or something, but Sakurai seems to be focused on third parties and characters that would bring something new to the table. Byleth would be just another sword wielding Fire Emblem character in a game that is already full of them.

11. Sephiroth and Geno: As much as I wouldn't mind any of these characters, I don't think Square Enix is willing to do more than the bare minimum for their own series. Sephiroth feels like a character that would have added to the base game alongside Cloud, due to his popularity. The fact that he wasn't tells me that there are reasons for that, since I don't doubt that Sakurai wanted him in. And poor Geno might have too niche of an appeal to become his own fighter.

12. Doomslayer (aka "Doom Guy") and Master Chief: A lot of people want Doom Guy, but I can't see how you could take a character from such a mature bloody game and make him work in the larger than life world of Smash. Same for the taciturn Master Chief. Neither is impossible I suppose, but I think they are too similar to get both, and each would have problems fitting on this roster.

13: Raiden: Quite possible (especially since Nintendo didn't turn him into an assist trophy, which would have been easy to do)

14. Shantae and Rayman: Both are already spirits in-game. This doesn't necessarily disqualify them (Sakurai has never indicated what already having a spirit in-game does for one's chances of getting in as a fighter), but its unlikely Nintendo will add either as a fighter at this stage. Neither Shovel Knight, nor Sans (two other indie game favorites) got in as playable characters, making Shantae's chances slim, and Rayman has appeared in two games straight as unplayable. Doubtful anything will change for him soon.

15. Lloyd: Was a mii costume in the last game and I always thought it weird that outfit has yet to come over to Ultimate, but don't hold out for him.

16. Crash, Dante, and 2B: The three character I believe have the best chance of getting in and would bring the most new to the table. Also notice that each scored on multiple lists.

17. Monster Hunter: Honestly, people have called this since they revealed Rathalos to be an in-game boss. Its honestly weird that the Monster Hunter doesn't really appear at all. Especially since I don't think even his mii costumes got brought over. It would probably be the most "I knew it" announcement in Smash ever.

Villagers Down A attack is ass smashing you with two turnips he is pushing out somehow. And he spams Gyroid rockets.

He has no business in Smash.

3. Bandanna Dee: FUCK BANDANNA DEE!!!!
No need to be like that. Kirby fans would really love to see him get included. He's been a reoccurring character in the franchise and has quite a bit of love from both the US and Japan. Not to mention his inclusion will finally complete the Dream Team (the group name for Kirby, Meta Knight, Dedede and BD).

I am fine with Waddle Dee, since it be something fresh unlike all the anime or sword/weapon/Pokemon that get dumped in.

Personally, don't see it. Especially with how strict Square Enix has been with their stuff.
I'm under the impression Sakurai really had to work in order to get everything included with the Hero DLC considering how extremely minimal the Cloud/Final Fantasy content is (god knows how he managed the Mallow and Geno spirits). It's possible, even probable, the agreement prevents any other Square (or Enix) properties from being used in Smash.

Anyways do we know for sure the last character of the first DLC batch is going to be female? I know that so far there's only been one girl, but is that the only thing people are basing the speculation on?

Yeah, but there's already been a square enix rep. Not to mention that his character is also owned by Disney. At this point, I think it's too late for Sora to be included now.

I wasn't thinking Kingdom Hearts so much as Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG. But I don't think either one of them was remotely likely even before Hero got in.

We don't need any more SE reps as is in the game.

Smash really could use some more toony like characters. Banjo was nice, but I get tired of seeing anime/human characters in it. Villager is toony enough, same with Mario and friends. Sora is a really basic and generic character that seems to appeal to tweens and teens. He doesn't really have much of a personality IMO. Not a lot of Nomuraish characters do.

I don't get the boner with people on Geno. He really didn't have much of a character development in Super Mario RPG, unlike Mallow who pretty much had character growth.

People want Indies in Smash, but I don't want Gunvolt in Smash, due to how childish Smash fans are and that the series has a niche following in the west. Inti also wants to remain niche as well with the series. The fandom already has issues with SJWs, PC and Alt righters in it.

I much rather have the three Battletoads where their skins could be all three of the characters. Much like how they did Hero. You can have Zits, Rash and Pimple chosable. At least they'd fit in Smash. I wouldn't mind the likes of ToeJam and Earl.

Another famous platformer mascot like Crash or Ray Man would be sweet, but I'm still crossing my fingers for generic animu characters like Travis or Phoenix.

I think if I had to choose, I'd like Phoenix Wright with Edgeworth, Apollo and Ryuunosuke as an alt.
My two other picks would be Travis Touchdown and Klonoa.
