USPS almost fucked me over but I finally got this shit. Played two games, controls feel slightly weird but I can't explain why. Fucked around too much while unlocked Zelda and died lol

I might be getting fucked over by FedEx another Smash item I ordered was just changed from being delivered today to pending.
 
Chrono Trigger is my favorite RPG of all time and it would be amazing if Crono got in. There is so much great material to work with that'd be great for Smash. Square being petty and refusing to allow it (which is a major possibility given that no other Final Fantasy content has been added) would be a huge loss for the franchise in my opinion.
 
I’m just imagining chrono’s exaggerated jump+downstrike skill as his up+b. Like Dedede’s jump but the speed it actually goes off in CT, so your targets have a good 2 seconds to evade it before they get murder-spiked.

So far, Pauline is easily the most bullshit spirit. 5 hours of playtime and probably 45 minutes of that was this one stupid fight.

Just get on the platform to the left of the one that Peach spawns on and wait. Up-Smash Mario when he falls on you to get him to drop his hammer and then run and jump to the left. Peach will try to escape by jumping over you and hit the hammer, which will send her offscreen. She will attempt to recover and if DK hasn’t destroyed your ass you have another chance to hammer her, which will probably kill.
 
Either they ramped up the difficulty or I'm rusty AF for not playing Smash in forever. It's probably the latter.

And I feel like I haven't even put a dent on the unlocks yet. There are A LOT of characters to get. I'm very certain who you get is randomized.
 
At this point, the main guys I want in are third parties.
Although from the way Reggie was talking about it, there's a good chance that most or all of them are.

This idiot. Sakurai didn't even pick the DLC fighters, it was done by Nintendo executives. And Persona is bigger than most franchises already in Smash.

LVL9 in this shit's hard man. Goddamn.
The Level 9's in this game were actually programmed with adviced from top Japanese Smash players, believe it or not. They're listed in the QA section of the credits and they recently all made Twitter posts talking about it.
Did bowser get buffed or was I just shit at him before? He seems to hit a lot harder than I remember and his side+a mash has a massive hitbox.
He hits the same, he's just speedier. That was his problem before. He always hit like a truck, but he moved about as fast as one too which always held him back.
 
AI definitely seems cheesier in the sense of being more strongly disposed towards using perfect timing/perfect spacing. I've kept them on level 4 for purposes of dicking around and get fucking destroyed a third of the time. Also I can't play for shit but who gives a damn because Ice Climbers and also I'm about to spend an hour calibrating the music to be exactly the way I want it.
 
You guys talk about the harder AI, but I’ve just been using Pikachu, spamming Thunder Jolt when they’re far away, and using Thunderbolt when they’re close up. It’s made classic mode and multiplayer easier.

Okay yeah maybe I'll walk back my statement a little because maybe it's kind of context-specific. The AI still seems to be dumb as fuck for walk off stages like Gerudo Valley, I can almost always kill them at like 30% with no damage to myself.
 
A kind of amusing thing about the AI is that they don’t seem to have compensation for hitbox sizes being different per character. Simon can just destroy them at range because they don’t try to evade the crazy whip hitbox.

The exception seems to be Ness. High-level CPU Ness is a nightmarish ranging asshole and whoever tuned his behaviors did good work.
