Apparently Geno's already a spirit, so I think his inclusion as playable is actually quite possible. The lack of Final Fantasy music is...perplexing, though. No versions of the Chocobo Theme, Final Fantasy Main Theme, or Final Fantasy Prelude are included in the soundtrack; hell, the Final Fantasy VII Main theme isn't even included, and Cloud's in the game! And they included no music from any Final Fantasy game outside of FFVII. Even Final Fantasy XV did a better job including Final Fantasy music from past games, even if it was only as something to listen to in the car. Fuck Smash doesn't even include One Wing Angel!

And Square Enix representation outside of Final Fantasy is down right non-existent. There are no references to Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts, the Chrono series, the SaGa series, the Mana series, Secret of Evermore, the Star Ocean series, or the Valkyrie Profile series at all, and all of these series either started on Nintendo systems, or, at least, have had one prominent release on Nintendo systems. But no these games might as well not exist, meanwhile, Namco has gone crazy with cross referencing its other series, even if only through Namco Roulette, and even Sega, Capcom, and Konami have decided to get in on the action. It is downright perplexing to me how little Square Enix seems interested in increasing their presence in this game.

Personally wondering what the Megaman representation is gonna all be. Was kinda miffed that every track was a Classic series remix in a series with a near endless library, hell that they were compilations of songs was even more enticing for this but we got nada but y'know, I get it.

Still hoping for some more obscure references. Tron Bonne being a spirit is cool but she's not really obscure and Trophies no longer being a thing means that ya' boy Zero will probably never be rendered in full 3D in the artstyle of his own series but we live in hope.

As far as character DLC goes I feel were due for a Kirby character eventually. Probably Bandana/Waddle Dee but they could pull a fast one on us and include any of the various buddies Kirby has made over the years. Krystal being an Assist Trophy pretty much means Star Fox is not gonna get anyone else for fighters, but even they got Wolf back. Krool and Ridley backing up two franchises with little rep means only Kirby and Earthbound are lacking in this regard. (And F-Zero but who can honestly say we need more than Captain Falcon?) A part of me kind of hopes the DLC changes this as it'd be nice if every mainstay in Nintendo's line-up got a new/returning rep to bolster prescense in the roster.

I mean, I was hoping for Samurai Goroh to make an appearance, but then I found out he was an assist trophy.

Well looking at that list Ganon, Giga Bowser, Marz, Rathalos, and Dracula just look like the odd ones out, since all the others are original characters from the Smash series (you probably meant Dharkon, not Darz). Giga Bowser and Ganon are just final smashes re-purposed as bosses. Marz just comes out of nowhere, and Rathalos and Dracula just seem thrown in, especially since Ratholos is an assist trophy and Dracula is otherwise just a stage boss like Yellow Devil, Dark Emperor and Metal Face. They probably could have done more with this; like, make Hades the final boss for Pit, made Medusa the final boss for Palutena, and made Black Shadow and/or Deathborn the final boss for Captain Falcon. Of course, not having these characters be bosses opens them up for inclusion as playable characters in DLC potentially. Is this just a list of what has been confirmed as of yet, or is this all there is?

It appears this is all we are gonna get unfortunately. I too wished they had more bosses.

And also from the looks of things, there isn't a Boss Battles mode either, which feels like a missed opportunity.

Hopefully they introduce it in a future update like they did with Tourney Mode in Smash 4.

What's happening to them? I know that the game is floating out there somewhere. I would imagine nothing would happen to them as long as they keep their switch offline.
