A second post but i feel that it'd be okay if I did.

Seems more and more fake leaks, efforted or not, come in. And it's a good time to say:

Do not believe whatever you see online.

This picture has been circulating from, you guessed it, 4chan. However it's been easily and immediately disproven after some other pics flew arond

People found out immediately that many things were just... well, wrong.

For starters, people found out Shadow's pose was similar to Sonic's, his eyes and mouth are the same with the latter being flipped, Agnès looked like she had some Frankenstein's Monster photoplasty done with the face of Lucina, the eyes of Palutena, and the nose of Marth on her face alone alongside the incorrect accent mark, Skull Kid's CSS model being directly from Smash 4 on Wii U, and Chorus Kids' huge discrepancy of their icon being RH, the initials of the franchise known as Rhythm Heaven... in America. In Europe it's Rhythm Paradise, and in Japan it's Rhythm Tengoku. Many people have tried saying things such as "The 3DS leaks had a misspelling!" mentioning a word was misspelled before. (In my opinion it looks too blurry and pixelated to tell.) Some others saying "Remember Shulk and Little Mac!" when SkullKid's portrait is literally from Smash 4's Trophy.

You can read more from PushDustin. He's more trustworthy than most people.

So they went into more detail about Squad Strike. Each stock is a different character, just like in Project M's All Star mode:

With this in mind, people are already discussing the possibility of making a whole ruleset out of this mode and trying it out as a full fledged tournament:

The Smash Ultimate Rule Book is gonna be thicker than any book at this point.

Also, why are people comparing it to Marvel Vs Capcom when it's more in line with SNK's King Of Fighters?

Because they think 3 on 3 only exists in MvC?

And assuming that the pros don't have a stick up their ass and ban everything that makes this game unique, the rules will be very interesting. At least we'll have ease of access to these new features unlike the custom moves from Sm4sh.

These new features could make Ultimate's competitive scene unique without it having to be Melee 2.0.

I could genuinely see side tournaments with these types of game modes and such. But no way in hell will Squad Strike or other things be tournament standard.

So what do you guys think of these "leaks" being shared around?

>leak says direct takes 27 minutes
>nintendo says 35 minutes

I'm getting really fucking sick of these motherfucking leaks on my motherfucking every goddamn website at this point.

The direct is 35 minutes long. The fact that the leak says 27 minutes already disproves it.

I never trust leaks and always wait for the official source. Sometimes there are ones that are accurate, but there are so many fake ones it's, just, why bother believing they're all true?

Also, Incineroar, really? For people that don't know Pokemon, Game Freak has a habit of wanting people to only use certain starters and will deliberately reduce stats/limit the movepool of the other two to make them less desirable, and be sure to thrust their preferred starter in the spotlight. This is why Greninja is in Smash. Seventh gen Pokemon is...interesting, in that they don't want the player to use the Alola starters, but to keep using Greninja. And people (vocally at least) prefer the other two so yeah, there's no way Incineroar is making the cut.

As far as the video games are concerned Incineroar is the better of the three Alolan starters, it got a MAJOR boost in last season's VGC format when people saw the move tutor moves it got in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon and its Hidden Ability becoming legal thanks to a Pokemon Bank gift.

It's usage in the TCG is abysmal but it's the the only Alolan Starter with more than three unique cards (Incineroar has three with a fourth card coming out in Japan in October, Primarina has two with a third card coming out in November, and Decidueye has two with no new cards set for release as of right now).

Sorry about the Pokemon-related :autism:, but saying Incineroar isn't the favorite Alolan starter of the company is a bit off.

I was aware of the move tutor moves, but I wasn't aware of it's hidden ability becoming legal, nor that it has multiple cards. But I don't know how likely it's inclusion in Smash would be with this new information.

Incineroar was met with much praise for its Heelturn Wrestler basis, plus the Z Move it has was considerably a favorite.

On the leaks, however, as some pointed out, the leak says it's 27 minutes long. I'd like to mention this about leaks however. This one seems to be heavily based on piggybacking. Also, Pokemon Let's Go! has been confirmed to only have one new Pokemon outside of Gen 1 only and Gillyball and Gildragon sound VERY FUCKING STUPID for a Ghost/Fire type. Other than that this is already fake as fuck, plus, Isaac I don't see getting in Golden Sun because the franchise is VERY NICHE because of how many sales it didn't get in its two game entry run. The company that made it now makes Mario Sports titles. Many people would say "But relevancy and popularity didn't keep K. Rool out!" It sure as hell kept Chrom, Lyn and Waluigi out, at least from the last game in Chrom's case. Hell, you could say the same if Hector, Veronica, Celica, and Ephraim, the winners of Choose Your Legends for Fire Emblem Heroes, don't get in. I don't see Isaac standing a chance for that alone.

Isaac has a much better chance than Waluigi and Lyn because he was the main face of his franchise, which was decently popular in the west and Japan. I mean Golden Sun wasn't THAT niche. Unlike say, Takamaru, who is essentially a retro character from a game that wasn't released outside of Japan until decades after the fact, and was obscure even over there, Isaac actually has recognition. He's been consistent in leaks and reports, and is a popular choice for inclusion. Plus, he was noted in the jeuxvideo.com Leak as a new fighter, and that leak has been 100% correct up this point (predicting Chrom, King K. Rool, Richter, and Simon as playable fighters and Dracula as a boss and the introduction of Stage Morph), making it the only leak I consider at all completely credible. I give him a more than decent chance.
