I think Emplemon shouldn't be taken seriously ever since the Behind The Meme shit because knows exactly how to play into people's emotions, anyone can just say that guy's content was mediocre but when he started going all about how youtube poops and meme culture were important to him and all that I just couldn't take him seriously ever since

I'd be mad over having to pay mario for the nintendo moron console online but that shit is 20 bucks for an entire year, so fuck it

Not 100% true. Hardcores (specially tourneyfags) definitely won't touch WiFi players, but casuals (including me) have no problem playing on WiFi. Depending on the netcode and signal strength, the difference is barely noticeable. And this is coming from someone that spends his nights on Fightcade 2.

I don't like the idea that somehow Smash Melee is some underdog. Some oppressed, beaten up group held down by the thumb of a corporate giant.

Especially in 2021. There is nothing holding Smash back. It has rollback now. Guilty Gear +r has 200 players at any given time and has tournaments all the fucking time. You know how many tournaments Melty Blood has? So many the Discord had to move all the tournament announcements to their own channel. Stuff hasn't even died down before Type Lumina comes out. And Melty Blood is considered a poverty fighter played in the bathroom stalls of Evo. Fuck outta here with your underdog shit. Smash Melee has never been more empowered to play competively.

The best netcode they've ever had. The most accessible era of internet communication. Open ability to stream. More than enough websites dedicated to helping you organize tournaments. Do you see +r and Melty players going around calling themselves underdogs?

If you want an underdog story, take a look at Skullgirls getting into Evo.

His complaints about slippy, "fan games", and emulation are unfair as he paints it as Nintendo did something completely wrong and not a requirement under trademark/copyright to uphold their bottom line and licenses. (Don't forget Marvel still pumps comics at a loss to maintain copyright for their movies, so its standard stuff with these laws)

He also compares a dead game (Melee is for the gamecube, a console discontinued in 2007) to current games/esports (Fortnite, COD, Apex) and wonders why Nintendo doesn't support it, when Nintendo has a current smash esports called Ultimate. Again, the tourney advertised an emulated copy, infringing copyright/trademark, and the laws require action. AM2R and Pokemon Uranium are not licensed games and trademark protections require activity from the trademark holder.

The online service is not Nintendo exclusive and all modern console do it because console players are retarded and pay for the privilege of using their own internet.

Nintendo actually makes money supporting Ultimate and not Melee. Melee is literally a bad fighting game, its a party fighting game for kids, with all "top-tier" mechanics being glitches that get banned later on (Wombling, Ice Climbers Freeze, Stalling, Rising Pound) and also bans most of the content (Items/maps), not to mention the calls for banning a playable character (Jigglypuff) since she can abuse the game and Hungrybox fucks everyone with it.

The video is bad faith and makes you agree with him if you don't understand any of nintendo's decision or economical purpose. There is 0 reason to monetary support a buggy game that you don't sell when you have a current best seller bringing you both game and console sales. This also ignores the constant amount of pedo accusations that come from the smash community, with Melee being the biggest offender.

EDIT: The additional framing of Nintendo being against the Etika controller, which were literally some guy selling knockoff controller shells with the Nintendo logo on it. Shocking that I can't sell IPhone cases with the Apple logo on it and not get the same thing from Apple, almost as if brand logos mean something. Not to mention the guy was profiting off of it (not relevant to Nintendo, but funny in regards to everyone defending the "charity"). This video is just giving headlines of websites and painting a narrative, not at all a factual or argumentative take on why Nintendo is bad and has fanboys that defend them to hell and back.

Second Edit: He also compares buggy game releases to Nintendo shutting down Controller Shells and preventing advertisement of Emulated games. He compares China TF2 knock-off to AM2R and Pokemon Uranium, where China doesn't care about copyright law unlike the rest of the world. Also, Sakurai must like Project M and Melee and not his current Smash Ultimate, or else he's evil. He can't realize that Nintendo fans like Ultimate and not Melee, because they just don't want to play buggy-competitive game. The video is literally someone complaining because Nintendo doesn't care about his favorite game, and he even admits that he only cares about Melee. People telling him they don't care about Melee is somehow proof that Nintendo fans are sheep, instead of them enjoying the new content in Ultimate.
So the faggot made it cause of melee?

Pretty much it doesn’t help in the consoomers thread that EmpLemon’s complaints about Nintendo fans apply to all other fanboys. It’s really funny how much of it was because of some game he was nostalgic for especially with how he gushes about how Melee is this super niche thing

Dragon rush - two button press, can be macro'd to be one to another button. Just a universal "throw"
Superdash - see above, though this mechanic has had contention for a while
Kiblast - literally one button with special inputs for other variations or moves
Sparking - literally just press Light, Medium, heavy, and Ki Blast. It's just Marvel 3 X-Factor
6M - holding forward and pressing Medium attack for an instant overhead to punish blocking low. Careful, I heard in Street Fighter 3 you have to press both Medium attacks!
2H - Launcher to extend and create higher combos. Skullgirls, Marvel, and even some characters in certain Street Fighter games have a launcher.

I knew Leffen has been a whiny little shitbag when it comes to fighting games and he's actually bad outside of smash but to call Dragon Ball FighterZ over designed when the game is not only one of the best games to get into as a beginner due to how freeform and forgiving it is may just be the DUMBEST thing he's said in a long time.

Also that the only real motion inputs are quarter circle motions back or forward, add to that the fact that for the real casuals theres a very lenient autocombo for both light attacks that ends in a knockdown and one for mediums that ends with a super

And to further add to that spergery, the dragon balls are only achievable if either side spams said autocombos throughout a match, and hoards meter, like casuals would probably do

I could go on and on that superdashes are beat with a single button or a beam if you read it, or that they even added a 2nd comback state, but that would be too spergy even for this lmao

But yeah, cheap tricks is all the Smash community really knows how to pull, it's no wonder they don't like things that add elements of skill to their party game.
It amazes me just how much they rely on glitches to consider themselves "good" at a children's party game, and yet will piss and moan if anyone uses items in a children's party game.

Yes, the only reason he complained about them was solely because Nintendo does not support his game Melee. Meleefags are something else with their pathetic wish of wanting Nintendo to support their game on a dead console and trying to use games like Warzone and Apex Legends in comparison.

Kazuya continues to bring more salt out of Rosterfags as Sakurai deconfirmed both Dante and Shantae in one stream

Holy fuck, and I thought the reaction to Terry was pathetic. Tekken cabinets have been in arcades and even stores forever, and Tekken 7 is still being supported four years later, but apparently only Japs know what it is.

Meanwhile, acting as if spergs wouldn't be spreging if Dante, Dragonborn, or Lloyd Irving got in, with all being even more swordfighters.

Edit: Also, Tekken, which revolutionized 3D fighting games and has Bears, Robots, Dinosaurs, Kangaroos, and Wooden Dolls as playable = Generic.

Melee fags are even more obnoxious than the Ultimate fags dare I say.

Why? At least they don't harp on about how much of a "work of art" their game is every five minutes.
they do it every ten.

Melee fags are a bunch of hipsters, while with Ultimate fags, there's a least a chance they're younger and will mature in the future (much to the dismay of the pedos).

They're upset that they don't get Nintendo's approval, and they want the ability to suck off the corporation who made said game.
Even then, the community doesn't really even know what they want. It seems they're always fighting with one another over stupid shit all the fucking time.

Would you believe another story of sexual misconduct has been released?! This time the player is someone called D1

tl;dr women gets almost raped and decided to continue hanging out with her almost rapist. Only stops hanging out with him due to a confirmed rape that was revealed later.

It's not even a dead console. It's a no longer supported console. This isn't like Titanfall 1 which is still sold by EA/Respawn Entertainment, which is a dead game, it's something that company has moved past and doesn't aim to profit from.

So the faggot made it cause of melee?
Yes. The last few minutes are him saying that Melee should be the number 1 supported product by Nintendo, all EMPLemon cares about is melee, and everyone else cares too much about not-melee (this isn't hyperbole, it's what he says).

Not only that, they also are talking about what to ban in their legacy game while new "gameplay mechanics" (exploits) are being found. The game is only allowed to be played in a tailored environment and not as a raw game. The banning of Wombling was the beginning of banning mechanics/characters (making ice climbers useless, basically a ban if you want to win), and I guarantee that eventually they will ban Jigglypuff, marking the end of Hungrybox's career.

I've said this with friends and I'll say it here. Smash Bros.' competitive scene doesn't need Nintendo. They've been going for so long without Nintendo and are able to support themselves for years. Street Fighter and Tekken, despite having huge legacies and communities, and even the former's sequel selling the most copies until Smash Ultimate beat it for years, still didn't have worldwide tournaments funded by fans, nearly monthly events at pubs, hotels, unis, etc, and with payout at that. Smash fans can support themselves, and they know they can.

What did they get from Nintendo supporting them?

>A ruleset that they don't play with (with their first tournament ending anti climacticly due to extreme RNG fucking the competition hard)
>Awards that were easy to replicate or meaningless (Which, that golden Pro Controller was dropped because of how they tried to present it)
>Little to no monetary gain (unless you're a child and it goes to a scholarship, similarly to Pokemon, but adults that participate in VGC get cash money prizes too)

They don't need Nintendo, but the problem is that they want Nintendo to financially fund the scene and let them do whatever they want.
