Of course not. The Smash community couldn't land a command input even if I put a gun to their head.

What's really insane about this is that all the autism paragons that make up the Smash playerbase can do the same broken glitch over and over even if the end result gives them arthritis but as soon as you ask them to perform anything like a Shoryuken they start spazzing the fuck out, it's like unless it's some bing bing wahoo glitch it doesn't compute.

The irony that she thought the Kazuya AI using Up+B a lot wasn't smart despite the character having a pretty good hitbox on the startup and being free to use virtually all his aerials afterwards, then the AI winning the set with the move :story:

A quarter-circle is pretty much the posterchild for fighting game difficulty. It encapsulates everything. It's representative of everything. When someone tells you they can't play fighting games, they'll almost always tell you: I cannot do a quarter-circle. And you know what? Yeah, a lot of people can't. When you're first start out the first thing you need to do is do a quarter-circle ten times in a row. It's a basic fundamental thing. It's the building black that everything else is learned off of. And you're gonna have to lab that and learn it, along with a lot of other fundamentals. But it always comes back to, "I can't do a quarter-circle".

Smash players are those guys that can't do it. They don't want to lab it. They don't want to put in the (perhaps autistic) amount of time practicing to get good. Instead, they bitch. They know they cannot change fighting games so instead of reflecting on themselves, they blame the beasts. But they still want to be fighting game players. They want that prestige that comes from playing a difficult and competitive genre. So they go over to Smash and then tell people, "ayup, I'm a fighting game player".

But the effort a Smash player and a Guilty Gear +r player put in are two completely different beasts. In +r people can play thousands of matches and only know a single character. I know a guy who played Bridgette for over a hundred hours and he GENUINELY thinks of himself as a novice that needs to improve. I know a Sol whose won tournaments whose still on the path to improvement and his gameplay gets critiqued a lot. Characters in +r, each of them, are all practically their own game. There's so much depth and complexity just to one character. Smash doesn't have that. But they want to pretend that they're on that same level.

There are people who have put nine hundred hours into Guilty Gear +r and go, "I'm a huge novice, I'm still learning". Because even if you're a new player and they perfect your ass and they're seemingly a god, there's a bigger fish out there.

I don't care about whether or not Smash is a fighting game. I think video games are for fun, just play. Enjoy yourself. But Smash players can't do that. They need to argue with you every step of the way how they're real fighting game players. They feel the need to insult you and your favorite game for not being as good as Smash.

And above all else, they can't stop touching children.

Smash is a bizarrely clunky game that needs exploits to "feel good". They've been playing it in an unintentional way ever since it came out. They have to strip out all of the fun stuff to make it competitively viable. Tons of maps, but only final destination. All these items, but you don't get to use them.

You cannot play fighting games on WiFi. It's generally considered a bad idea. On PC, when you go on Discord, people won't play with you if you're on Wifi. Games include Wifi indicators to tell you when you're playing against someone on Wifi. The Switch doesn't even have a native ethernet port.

Not 100% true. Hardcores (specially tourneyfags) definitely won't touch WiFi players, but casuals (including me) have no problem playing on WiFi. Depending on the netcode and signal strength, the difference is barely noticeable. And this is coming from someone that spends his nights on Fightcade 2.

Fully agree. If you play on 5GHz band with a good signal strength it's unnoticeable.

This right here is what makes ACTUAL fighting games so enjoyable.
No matter how good you get, no matter how much time you invest, the mountain just gets taller and taller.
There is ALWAYS someone there to beat your ass to a pulp, and yeah I guess it sucks in the moment, but you learn to respect it.

The problem with Smash players is that they can't handle getting their shit rocked, they just get fucked up and then whine about it.

FC2 is the shining example of good netcode these days. Well, maybe that can go to GGST now because it's pretty fucking great, but I have more experience with FC2.

To be fair, DSP at least has played Street Fighter 2 to the point he won (I think it was 4th place), and was one of the top tier americans to do it. GRANTED, that version was buggy as FUCK, but it's a major step forward from what this leffen faggot "tried" and ultimately failed at.

So in a sense, smash players are one (or more) levels BELOW DSP. That says ALOT

DSP was the number 1 American players when every good player protested and didn't play. Leffen is one of the best smash players, he doesn't use a technicality and runs with it for years like DSP.

Would be funny to see Leffen versus DSP but it'll never happen.
