"I never cared about EVO anyway, lol XD"
This is the idiot trying to make a Melee conversion of Ultimate, by the way.

The absolute balls to suggest that Melee, of all video games, is what put EVO on the map and that Melee's "legacy" is going to help Ultimate at EVO.

Not Street Fighter 2:Super Turbo, not Street Fighter 3:Third Strike, and not Marvel vs Capcom 2.

15 years of Fox vs Fox (or Fox vs Jigglypuff) on Final Destination, no items; that's what people tune in for.

If I was a Melee fan (and I'm not), I would absolutely not share that viewership graph as a defense of my game. More people watch Street Fighter 5 and SF5 sucks so bad they finally demoted Yoshinori Ono over it.

I like how they want Melee to have a remaster yet don’t want to play the latest Smash game. Those niggas are so far in their rose tinted vision.

People getting autistic and starting catfights online because some guy allegedly hinted at a Dragon Quest character, taken from more autistic rumors, despite the fact that the person that uploaded the picture only supervised the Kirby content for Smash.

I don't know why most of them are so self center over a game that is 18 years old even those games above eventually have to be let go due multiple things mostly because of an new installment is coming out but so far I Melee is the only game I seen that has fans this stubborn about wanting to go to Evo and pretending that it doesn't need it. I'm personally glad melee is not in

Yeah, why should the series advance when they can just make Melee HD and bring back every single bug and exploit from the original?

Trust me if there was somehow a Melee HD coming out they are going to bitch about how it doesn't have this one small bug and just say that its trash.

Honestly I don't know whats worse the wishlists being used as rumors or "leaks" or autistic fanboys actively trying to tell people to fuck off I hope this character not in the game just because he/she is not Geno or because he caries a sword. I feel bad for the developers who post stuff on social media that reason alone.

I remember being told that there was a Bubble Bobble release done after the original devs had lost the original program files to work with, so they had to start from scratch.

It was hated because of a different noise or something as lame as that. Despite being 1:1 otherwise.

Purists ruin a lot of things.

In this video, Armada (a top Melee player who has now retired--and also the guy who held up an entire major and dropped out because his controller didn't have the 1% manufacturing defect) calls people who follow a franchise instead of picking one game and sticking with it "sheep," and claims that Melee is disliked in the FGC because they won't move to the newest entry, and that's the only reason why. That's not paraphrasing, by the way, he literally says that's why people don't like Melee players.

You know, instead of how Melee players consistently smell, boo games that aren't Melee, have no overlap with other games in the FGC (including games in its own series), play a game with an unchanging meta and that has no upsets, are entitled, are non-interactive with the rest of the FGC, need specific hardware which isn't produced anymore and which is exclusive to them, and are so disjointed from the rest of the FGC that they act precisely like how Armada is acting in this video.

But no, it's because they're different. Those poor, discriminated Melee players. He then proceeds to say that other games at EVO "paid their way in." Which makes perfect sense when over a third of EVO's lineup are small indie devs.

Here's the original video:

What a shame, i thought Armada was the least worse of melee pros but he turned out to be the biggest asshole. Insinuating that SNK/French Bread bought their way to Evo is no only mean (they're poverty games from tiny studios) but also hypocrital considering Melee paid it's way to evo last year.

Also, the way he romanticizes the idea of "never moving on to other games" is borderline autistic. If Armada was a speedrunner everyone would call his speech retarded.

Ah, so this is the guy Angriest Pat was talking about. Sound like he’s learned nothing since the whole controller thing

But remember, they're not toxic, just misunderstood!/sneed
Also, this guy is apparently 25? Looks like playing Melee for too long aged him up prematurely.

Read through this thread and :story:

Smash players are embarrassing, but I wish there was a fighting game community general because these clowns are usually full of potential.

Nothing more eye rolling than serious business gaming.
I don't doubt the sheer autism of the fighting game community, but Smash is particularly interesting to me since it's one of the only fighting games I'm familiar with, and competitive Smash is the dumbest thing ever to me since the games are clearly meant to have fun with but Smash spergs are so goddamn serious about it.

As much as I love the series, it's a party game that isn't meant to be taken seriously, and that's why the community is so hilarious to me. They try to make the games so much more complex than they really are, when in reality they'd get utterly lost trying to decipher the mechanics of actual fighting games like SF and latter-day MK.

That's kind of the thing with Smash. The games are fun, but the community takes it way too seriously.
