The only stage that should ever be banned is 75m.

What’s their deal with disliking slopes?
Because they block projectiles, which incidentally gives their beloved Fox a weakness.
And we know we can't have even the most minor inconvenience, despite non-party fighting games that were actually intended for a competitive audience (to an extent) having far less stuff that's banned.

One that makes no genuine sense is banning Wario Ware inc because "the blast zones are too close to the stage". So what? It's a cube with 4 platforms. If the blastzone is closer then everyone dies faster without affecting character performance in any way, what's wrong with having a smaller stage?

But i guess Sakurai was right again. He gives them them +100 stages and the option to remove hazards but they would rather play the same (*check list*) FIVE stages. You can't please smash fags.

I will always love this image posted by Sakurai on the Brawl Dojo back in 2007

There's other reasons slopes are a problem. One of them is how some character's weapons work. In older games, some attacks would either go through stages so you could see something like Ike's Aether recovery being used to not be gimped by hugging the stage so his sword goes through it. In Ultimate, it no longer does that and instead adapts to its new positioning. This causes problems with other characters who have whip like attacks or any disjointed attacks that can "go limp" as I would say (Toon/Young Link's hook shot, Belmont's whips, etc.) Slopes can also cause a bit of a problem for launching opponents. Pretty much if you DI correctly, what would've been a KO is saved due to being able to move yourself on a slope and rolling onto it to get back in the game.

The whole thing about being "too similar" is just a suggestion to be banned, not necessarily a reason it actually is. It depends on where you go and who's rulesets you use. However, I will always defend the banning of 2D stages due to hitbox fuckery, and some of the other stages that cause disruptions or can aid those who are not color blind. Castle Siege is one big one that I feel should be looked into by the dev team because a good chunk of the camera is blocked by a part of the stage. Same can be said with Windy Hill where some characters attacks and be camoflauged due to the grass in the foreground (it can completely cover some attacks like Snake's C4.) Some stages also have colorblindness elements to it, or can have some attacks blend into the background's flat colors.

Real talk. Am I the only one that actually likes Mario Bros? It’s a fun stage where you can get creative when it comes to murdering your enemies, especially since any time I play with anyone, they tend to forget that you can throw enemies at people and that you can walk out of bounds and end up on the other side of the stage.

Competitive Smash spergs hate every stage that's fun (ergo, anything not Battlefield and Final Destination).

There are worse stages, but Mario Bros. is one that gets not a lot of hate because it's one of the few amazing stages but does get some strange looks, mostly because of it not being fully 2D like Flat Zone or something. Brawl had some really shitty stages, like Electroplankton, 75M (also technically the only non Jungle DK stage), and New Pork City. New Pork City is just not fun to play on because it straight up tells you to get bent if you play someone heavy, slow, unable to maneuver quickly or high, or a mix of the three, just because it's a very campy stage.

Somehow, Great Temple is more balanced than that, and it even has an entire dedicated knowledge base of who can go from the bottom to the top right of the stage.

The best thing about Smash spergs is that they will still find a way to get into little salty bitch fits, even when they added heavily requested characters like Ridley, K. Rool, and Simon.
In fact, it's been that way ever since Brawl.

Nah we probably will. I can't imagine they'd pass up on the chance for more Smash DLC hype. Won't mean people will like it though.
More than likely we'll have something involving Joker. We got Mewtwo's and Lucas' trailer on April 1st, about four months after confirming Mewtwo would be DLC. With the workforce being much faster due to multiple reasons (and one big reason is because they no longer need to develop for a second, inferior powered console and one much more powerful console), I could see a gameplay trailer, but not a "releasing today" announcement.

You can argue that smaller blastzones give characters with high base knockback moves (knockback at 0%) an advantage because they can score early kills. Except you can already do that on Smashville's platform. At the very least it should be a counterpick.

It's funny how they claim Bayo was making the game too boring to watch in Smash 4 yet they never considered switching up the stagelist.

What Nintendo didn't add in some obscure character from a random SNES game do they even care about fans?
