I love how Bayonetta out of all characters is the one pissing people off. Actually kinda fitting considering her character.

Also I wonder how many people even played her games? She is ungodly powerful in them, of course she's going to be wrecking everyone's shit in Smash.

It's kinda funny, i remember when many Nintendofans were really smug about Bayonetta 2 being a Wii U exclusive, and yet many of those same fans were upset because she was included in Smash as a playable character

You also have people that say she shouldn't be in Smash because her games are violent, yet we have Snake who comes from a violent game.

To be a little fair, Metal Gear is generally less violent than Bayonetta, considering the game encourages less violent ways to get around guards, with going in guns ablazin' usually being the quickest path to a game over, whereas the combat of Bayonetta basically revolves around being over the top violence (albeit in tongue in cheek fashion like the rest of the game).
But even with that in mind, it still doesn't excuse the hypocrisy and double standards set out by Smash Bros. autists.

I'm just not sure I understand this kind of logic that Shovel Knight is some kind of "hint" about Shantae. Shovel Knight, despite being more recent, has a much more sizeable fanbase culminating in an official Nintendo Amiibo for the character--and the best he gets is an assist trophy. Yet for some reason a character comparatively less popular will somehow get more representation that that?

Won't be in the base game, but for sure could see him as DLC after how well the remakes have done on the Switch
 
I did not expect this huge level of delusion coming from Shantae fans, people severly overestimate her, her game were never huge hits and there are dozens of more iconic Indie characters. Even quality wise her games are 6/10 at best, well animated but overpriced and short, with very shallow transformations.

I feel Shantae got the "waluigi syndrome", where she is becoming more well known as "that character nobody shuts ups about" than for her actual games.
