Tangentially related but with 100 confirmed maps, I'm seeing a lot more fun picks than just the Castlevania one.

But there probably will be the DS music since Castlevania alone has over 30 confirmed tracks.

Also fun fact, the mystery figure on the stage is unmistakably Kid Dracula from the GBC:

I hope the tard is trolling. There's been about at least 16+ games (majority on Nintendo), had a 90's OVA along with the Netflix anime. It ranks up there with being the most iconic Nintendo franchise since the 80's, and if you ask anyone they know it as only a Nintendo classic. He's probably interpreting it not on the same scale as megaman because it only takes place in dracs castle, even though SQ took place across Europe, most of PoR took place in paintings and OoE was going across Romania, making his castle the last dungeon and still taking a long time to traverse through it. They're angry because a minor character like Ashley didn't get a slot. Wowzers guys SHE HAD A SONG...in Wario games she totally deserved a slot. Fuck outta here.

Edit:you can tell they're extra salty because they think a game they never heard of is some new game that was put on Smash for shits and giggles. Never change uncultured swines.

Absolutely agree. This game is complete fan service. Every previous Smash character ever plus spergy ones like King K. Kool and Ridley? 103 fucking stages, each one with an Alpha and Beta whatever mode? 1,000 (one fucking thousand) music tracks, all that you can listen to on your Switch like it was an iPod? And people are unhappy? Why, because your pedo ass can't play as a pre-teen?

Does it even matter? You still have other characters from completely dead franchises in Smash like Ice Climbers, Game & Watch, Duck Hunt, ROB, Sonic, etc.

I seen someone wanted Sakurai dead because of Palutena. Yes. They wanted him dead over one character. Apparently people are gonna bitch about the Assist Trophies. Shovel Knight is sending people to tard town. Some are neutral and sick of him being shoved in every game and others and crying he isn't playable. People like this spoil the fun of Smash for people who are fair weather and calm minded.

People whining over the characters, someone being a trophy or even an echo are not even gonna be happy when the game is finished. I like the idea of Echo Fighters, but people are going to throw tantrums and want more characters to bloat the list further.

Pokefags want more Pokemon. It'll be Josh the Snivy crying that Snivy isn't playable all over again.

Even when I've seen people mostly celebrating how Chrom FINALLY got into Smash (especially considering that years ago Lucina's trailer had him losing his chance), I've also witnessed some delicious butthurt from FE nostalgic morons who whine and moan about the evils of Awakening and Fates being the current faces of the FE franchise. Dat Chrom tea is scalding them. :story:

It's amazing; I thought Waluigi fans were the worst ones, but then Ashley-loving pedos come pretty damn close to being even worse than them.
Hell, at least with the other 2 waifu characters morons are bitching about (Lyn and Krystal), they at least have something to work with for attacks.
Ashley, on the other hand, has nothing.

EDIT: Also, why are people pissed about Chrom? Of all the characters from Awakening and Fates, he was one of the least awful. I'm actually pretty happy that I get to play as him without having to play waifu simulator 2013/16 and it's spinoffs.

I think a big reason as to why Simon and Richter were included is because of the Castlevania series on Netflix. Not saying that that's the only reason, but I do think it did have a significant part in the decision.

This is also why I think they went with Richter over Trevor because if they had gone with him it, might've been seen as kind of a blatant cash grab. Which it already is, but if they had included I think might've just been too blatant.

Personally, I would've taken Trevor over Richter, but I can't say that I'm that bothered with it. Also I can't deny that hearing the line "Begone! You don't belong in this world, monster!" is both fucking awesome and fucking hilarious in Smash Bros. game.

I see it as Nintendo showing some homage to those companies and the series' they made which helped make Nintendo as big as they are after all some of the first companies to sign on to make games for the Famicom were Capcom, Konami and Namco (Bandai-Namco same difference).

I'm just not super interested in video games outside of Melee these days. I haven't kept up with the industry or the new games/consoles for nearly 10 years now; I've only really held on to Melee and a couple other classics that I sometimes come back to. I'm coming up to 30 years old and I'm just not as interested in video games anymore.

Castlevania is already a very iconic IP so I don't think it was a cash grab because of the Netflix show. Maybe Konami is planning a new title and this is a push to get some extra exposure?

And I think they went with Simon and Richter because they're the most iconic and were in the most revered games in the series. Simon in 1, 2, and 4. Richter in Rondo of Blood and Symphony.
