This is the problem with people just finding out about a community for a brief second. You think you know about it because of the context you're given, but Leffen has been a faggot for years prior to this. Hax didn't do the best job of not being a sperg, but he wasn't wrong. Leffen has been ruining Melee for years now with his k-pop style fans. As I said, if he was in any community, he'd wind up hated because of it.

That's a bit underselling, I think. Hax's video was, in my opinion, on par with people claiming they're being gangstalked. The entire video was peppered with accusations against Leffen specifically targeting him with his actions, with things like him wearing a striped shirt when Hax wore striped pants one time being evidence to him of Leffen preparing to ruin him within the community. The only reason Hax made that video was because he was butthurt that Leffen talked shit to him in particular, not because he wants to expose him.
It really isn't. A douche will cut you off in traffic or yell in insult at you from across the street. But an evil person will stab their own mother in the heart and bury them in a shallow grave to fraudulently cash their social security checks. Being petty, oppositional or rude doesn't mean you'd be a monster if given the chance.
There's definitely a ton of personal vendetta in there, but nothing he said was wrong either way. It's the delivery method that people are taking issue with, and many people are contorting that into "Leffen isn't bad because of this video"
I don't know that I believe Leffen to be a dark tetrad machiavellian schemer who has set his sights on ruining people he dislikes within the Smash community. I think evidence Hax himself provided, when he showed the tweet of Leffen promoting Hax's video on ledge grabbing, proves this. It's a massive fucking reach to say that tweet in particular was meant to make him appear honest, and that he had a "reluctant tone" when saying it, or that every time he acts nice on camera it's all manipulative and meant specifically to put you under his thumb.
