Agreed, the music in NSMB is uniformly awful. Turns out having the whole soundtrack performed by the Robot Duck Choir wasn't a good idea.

The one thing I like about the newest NSMB game's soundtrack is the way Baby Yoshi sings along. As obnoxious as the music is, that did warm the ol' cockles.
What doesn't help is that the series is known for having some of the catchiest music in the medium. The tracks from the Galaxy games and 3D World are just as tuneful as the tracks from the NES games that have the aid of nostalgia.

One of the best things about Super Mario Maker was watching people work within and around the limitations of the tool set to make some amazing levels. I played levels that were better Zelda dungeons than anything in Skyward Sword. It's going to be great to see what people do with the resources in the sequel. I don't think there's any other game coming out this year that I'm anticipating more.

That's not hard to do, Skyward Sword was a game I'd slam dunk straight into the trash. I'm surprised it doesn't have much of a hate community around it, that game was fucking dire.

I guess not a lot of people played it, considering it was a late Wii game and came out at a time when that console was dying.

Couple weeks before Mario Maker 2 comes out and people are still coming up with hilarious glitches in Mario Maker 1.

Here they found a way to add more than two checkpoints, plus they got around the system to create a checkpoint which makes the level unbeatable if captured. Crazy awesome shit.

So thread necromancy aside, there's supposedly a piece of news that, while unconfirmed by Nintendo, was seemingly confirmed by several different news sites. Supposedly, they're planning something similar to Super Mario All-Stars, but with Super Mario 64, Sunshine, Galaxy, and Galaxy 2.

Thoughts? Is this hype? Is this a lame way to celebrate Mario's 35th anniversary? Is this even real?

I take all leaks with a grain of salt, especially after MarioTehPlumber duped everyone with SSBU's infamous Grinch Leak.

EDIT: That said, I can see Nintendo following the gaming industry's trend of remastering popular older titles. My only worry is Nintendo taking the safe route and making them 1-1 remasters (excluding tacked-on extras like Bowser's Minions and Bowser Jr.'s Journey) like the Mario and Luigi remasters.

I just got done playing Super Mario 64 with all the stars and not sure if I want to jump into sunshine or wait for a possible switch release now.

I have no idea how they're going to re-release Super Mario Sunshine on a console that doesn't have big analog shoulder buttons like the GameCube.

Just play it. As far as I'm concerned all leaks are fake until proven true.

As someone who played Super Mario Sunshine multiple times, including when it was first released, I don't know how that'll make a huge difference. It's not like the Switch is lacking them, it has ZL and ZR which could serve as an equivalent and are shaped like the Gamecubes L and R buttons. The only difference is that they're not absurdly huge and, again, I don't understand how that'll make a difference.

Goddamnit I want Paper Mario
God, I know. The first game doesn't get nearly enough love and could look great as long as the art wasn't half-assed.

I was a much bigger fan of Sunshine before I 100%'d it. Usually 100%ing Mario games is fun as hell, but with Sunshine it was just fucking tedious. I absolutely despise FLUDD as a movement mechanic. The actual spraying and stuff is fine.

Holy shit I did not know that CorpseSyndrome/MariosFriend9 aka the maker of (Mario) The Music Box was this fucking insane.

Like I know that they on numerous occasions have drawn Mario in dress and are a big fan of Undertale but I thought because she had a husband and a kid that she wasn't the average Twitter user but she is, lol.
