Um, it's not 100% clear what the reasoning was, I think that the thought is that it's uh, combined with t-the New Orleans, like the Bourbon Street attack. So maybe uh, he got overloaded, uh, he got too stressed 'cuz he's like, uh, "shit, you know, I've got a thousand different reports that I have to deal with, because a bunch of people died." Maybe there was a lawsuit impending, or something like that. Maybe he was, uh-maybe he just went crazy due to the stress of his job. Then imagine, he was a young dude—younger than me, he was only thirty-four years old—I can imagine that the stress of such a job, uh, probably... i-it just fried him out. He just got overloaded, that would be my best guess, and so he just decided he's gonna kill himself. Um, so sorry to his family [gulps], and stuff like that, but uh... yeah. Chaos magic is real.

I want to point out that in Tarl's scenario, his Chaotic magic is a shotgun. So in order for his target to meet his untimely end (at his own hands), it necessitated a terror attack that killed scores of people and injured many others.

Tarl is not only claiming credit for the death of this assistant DA, he's also claiming at least some credit for the Bourbon St terror attack.

Yesterday I had an extremely painful root canal done. I can only assume that it was Tarl's chaos magic that caused an old filling to fall out and get my tooth fucked up.
 
I know the forum has a lot of fedora tippers, enlightened by their own intelligence. Let's assume that's the correct assessment. Anything that isn't quantified and categorized by science is fake and gay. Styx believes what he believes. He has long term subsistence abuse issues. He's clearly dealing with some mental health problems, even if you ignore the supernatural beliefs. This combination has tended to come with a free ticket to crazy town. He's almost arrived at the final stop.

The thing is, he's basically admitting he's guilty of the crime. Why else would he want vengeance on the DA's office? If he's innocent, why wasn't he casting spells to lead the authorities to the truth? It is clear to me, he's guilty and he's angry at the people with the power to punish him.

Someone above mentioned that he slept in the same bed as his bed wetting niece. Past a certain age, bed wetting is a sign of something very bad. It's weird. I used to view him as a harmless eccentric.
