I'm assuming the child wanted to be pushed on the swing, this is a normal situation every parent is in. Children want underdogs on the swings, most parents oblige to these requests. Accidents in this specific scenario do indeed happen.

I'd say these are two very different circumstances, and you are making a poor effort attempt to shine light on a different situation that wasn't currently at hand. This is a strawman fallacy usually. I've seen you use this tactic a lot.

Can people stop PLing as a response to Tard and Sam being shit parents? There's random farmers that have now explained detailed life stories, their current marriage status, how many kids they have, if they're boys or girls, etc. You shouldn't be posting that here to make a point.


I think we all knew Tarl was delusional but his response to the kid almost drowning really drives home the point. Usually he would do it for something innocuous or to make himself look better, but this is just insanity. All you had to do was watch a kid for a few minutes, that's literally it.

I know Sam isn't exactly a trustworthy person, but given how badly Tarl is bullshitting about this almost-drowning I think I'm going to go out on a limb and say that she was the one that saved the kid. Tarl knows how bad this makes him look so he's trying to DARVO it into him being the hero of the story.

I get the sense that Tarl would allow someone to die if he had that chance. I think he's too pussy to actually kill someone himself (as evidenced by his failure to shoot Sam or himself), but if he came along someone that could be saved by CPR or something else he would instead watch them die and get joy from it.

In the movie, the kid fell into the Amazon river and was floating face down for 15 miles until the pirate that was supposed to watch him eventually fished him out half dead as he floated by.
No wonder he gets convicted by default if that is how he defends himself.

Tarl is probably telling us the version of the story that he was fantasizing about in his head; the one where Sam didn't see him with a hand on little Jimmy's back right before he "somehow" ended up in the creek. Samantha's version of the story does line up with something a narcissist would do, so it's probably pretty close to the truth.
