Stephen Colbert is co-writing "The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past" (working title), which will go into production after "The Hunt for Gollum."

The synopsis: "Fourteen years after the passing of Frodo - Sam, Merry, and Pippin set out to retrace the first steps of their adventure. Meanwhile, Sam’s daughter, Elanor, has discovered a long-buried secret and is determined to uncover why the War of the Ring was very nearly lost before it even began."

Colbert is co-writing the script with his son, Peter McGee, and franchise veteran Philippa Boyens.

The world is a fuck.

There needs to be an official name for the cutoff point where a franchise gets hijacked by modern day propagandists, and is then bled dry and subsequently killed off for the sake of promoting their message. It's happened enough now that I feel it should have a name, something to easily denote that dark period in culture where every franchise, even some over a century old, just up and fucking died within a single decade for some political message. We need to disregard it all in hindsight, simply for the sake of reviving them later and telling our kids "yeah the 2010s stuff was a bit fucked up, it gets better again after that".

Why? In what world does whoever is in charge of the franchise think Stephen Colbert is even close to the right fit for this? Then again they allowed Rings of Power so... I guess nothing matters and rights owners just don't care about maintaining the legacy of things and will ruin them even to their own financial detriment for shitty propaganda reasons.

I propose the term "faggotized".

FAGGOTIZE - (transitive, derogatory) To make or depict as faggoty. Past participle - FAGGOTIZED

EXAMPLE: "Star Trek is a beloved classic science fiction franchise that dates back to the 1960s, but during Alex Kurtzman's tenure as showrunner, it became quite faggotized"

I warned people that Paramount buying WB would probably be worse than Netflix. But people who buy David Zaslav is based and red-pilled said Paramount would be better because of Trump friends. WB and Paramount are both embarrassing, more woke than Netflix. At least most Netflix adaptations only require dealing with laughable diversity casting. We've gotten four bad Paramount Star Trek shows and shit James Gunn DC universe reboot for one Netflix Witcher and a bad Stranger Things finale.

Did Jackson have a stroke? He looks and sounds like it, and doing this adds more to that idea.

Odds are good that Stephen Colbert, Lord of the Rings, will make people miss Rings of Power. I have a feeling that diversity casting will be seen as the lesser evil compared to what is to come, honestly. Especially if the rumors of the Harry Potter reboot making Voldemort a woman are true. The racial stunt casting in Harry Potter and rings of power will be the least of the shows problems.

He pitches comedy sketches and the last movie he wrote for was based off a series he also wrote for which didn't make back its budget in 2005 when people still went to the movies.
He lost his show because he lost all of his viewers and couldn't convince anyone he still had value.
He made occasional references to Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.
What's the reason for this, apart from him having lots of spare time now?

Reminds me of how Tolkien took a crack at making a sequel to Return of the King and decided that minor evils rising and men waging war against each other kind of takes away from the destruction of the One Ring and he gave up. I wish more writers gave up on their bad ideas.

Episode 1 -- Somehow, Saruman returned. The White Hand Health Organization determines that the coughing fits in Hobbiton are unrelated to smoking, and residents are forbidden to leave their homes for any reason unless they agree to be innoculated with a Safe and Effective injection via Morgul blade.

Perhaps some sort of Maoist or Maoist-derived term, like "Cultural Rectification" or "Media Rectification". (Wikipedia)
