I don't know what any of that means but I like you so I gave you a heart sticker.
over in Japan there's a scifi franchise of some regard "Mobile Suit Gundam"
it's had enough of a push in the USA at points that around the turn of the century you could find toys at every toy store, wal-mart, and drug store
the main bad guys are led by The Zabi Family, who carpetbagged from (((The Moon))) to a particular space colony, and then various things happened and The War Of Earthnoid Aggression hppened wherein the space guys clearly did nothing wrong
the baddies' aesthetic ranges from WWI Prussian-ish to straight up Space Nazi down to the goofy looking CGI show the fabric is even legit Nazi texture

This video got me thinking...

Everyone knows Picard is super woke. What if there was a "Janeway" show, that was offensively based and redpilled. With what Picard got turned into, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to turn Janeway into some cartoonish Space Nazi. There were episodes of Voyager where she already was...
6 million Tuvixs? That sounds a little strange. I mean, given that an Intrepid class ship has 3 transporter rooms with 6 pads each, and the average use of a transporter takes about 10 seconds, plus whatever time the operator needs... that would be well over 50 days of non-stop transporter use, wouldn't it? Wouldn't the bio-neural gelpacks burn out long before Janeway could achieve this number?

One Tuvix is too many.

Patrick Stewart is a gay libtard. What on earth did anyone expect? I get that Picard is just such a memorable character that he and the actor that plays him are often conflated, but Patrick Stewart is not Picard. Patrick Stewart is a gay British thespian who wanted an SJW show to stick a middle finger at Trump because that’s what you do in Hollywood.

*Well actually he isn’t gay, I was mistaken. But he is a faggot.

the absolute unit himself Enabran Tain.
Dude just wants to crush his enemies get his old job back. I can relate to this.

Maybe Dukat should have dropped some asteroids on Bajor.

Edit: F*cking Hell, Braga. You really need to satisfy yourself before sitting down at a keyboard.

I wish we had as much autistic info on the state of the comics here, as Gangster Computer has on the star wars thread. Didn't seven die in that particular comic continuity?

Here's an example.. Dam that actually is a good idea to have Idris be Gihren.

Although brooks would have been a mighty fine dictator back in the day.

Which is funny cause if anything the show makes a case FOR anti-immigration and bigotry. The Romulans are behind all the evil stuff, and seem to still be consistently all bad. The synths were an inch away from wiping out all organic life before barely changing their minds.
That is.... the most frustrating part about these new shows.

They have an entire season of like 10 episodes - not even the insane 25-30 the older series have - and the writers STILL cannot write a coherent mystery. Any time i look up or try to read the plots of the season of Disc and Pic they just make no damn sense.

Oh is SW on comics now? I had to bow out of that thread when it was getting too autistic an circle jerking. (Which is a shame because I loved the behind the scenes posts what's-his-name-now was doing.)

In the full spirit of being that guy, I am pretty sure @Elim Garak did all the heavy lifting on that one, so he gets the credit.

I still find it wild that @Elim Garak is only in 37 episodes of the entire run. Really hammers home what a great job he did, when it effectively tricks your brain into thinking he's got a ton of screen time when he really doesn't, similar to Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs.

This is so baffling to me. Almost all seasons of DS9 had 26 episodes each, with story progression, character development, recurring elements (Brunt's seal on Quark's bar staying there for quite some time), background characters eventually getting their own stories (Morn) and special effects taking way more time and effort than today. It's amazing how great their job was, despite duds here and there.

Sort of like Colin Jeavons in the Granada run of Sherlock Holmes. He played Inspector Lestrade in six (more like five and a half) episodes out of 41 total but you would be forgiven if you thought he appeared more often. Sorry, my inner old lady comes out every now and again. Check it out though; Granada Sherlock Holmes is the best Sherlock Holmes.

STAR TRACK.

Gangster is very good at describing the current state of the background lore and comics with most posts he makes there. Although I find everyone's pessimistic attitude a bit off-putting even if it's perfectly understandable.

I get annoyed when they wave off how much worse the state of star trek is then star wars, but I guess I dont share the same attachment they do.

He was technically a guest star the whole time. He only had like an episode or two a season up until the Dominion war, then he got enough screentime to more or less be a regular

The way the time travel story in season 2 started was neat, but it went nowhere fast when it the twist was revealed. The only well executed mystery was the identity of lorca.

We don't have enough information about how civilian life functions in the Federation to apply a modern label to its economic systems. (What information we do have is often contradictory, too.) At the very least it’s a society which has transcended capitalism. Starfleet officers don't get paid. The stock market and private ownership of industry haven’t existed for centuries, and no one does work they don’t want to do. There’s no economic class system at all.

Roddenberry's wife said he was up to his elbows in Maoist literature. Roddenberry hired a socialist activist to pen the first Trek novel. Gene Coon, responsible for world-building the Federation in TOS, was also fairly left-leaning (though not a radical). "The Cloud Minders" is all about class war and classist prejudice. Kirk literally stages a worker's revolution.

So Trek has always had a left-wing pedigree. Conservative fans exist, since Star Trek is not a religion and asks nothing of its fans. Fans don't have to share the beliefs of the creator to enjoy the product.
I always thought it was hilariously telling that the only plausible way you could get future not-gommunism to function even in your fantasy scifi schlock was with a magic machine that shits out anything you ask for in seconds with zero cost.

can one of you guys and gals who knows the lore better than i do explain something for me. something which has bothered me about DS9 is that it is portrayed that Bajor is having problems with food, farming, supplies, and even famine yet in every episode we see the replicators make as much food as anyone ever wants. we also see tons of trading and cargo ships traveling around yet replicators have been show to make almost anything a person wants. so is there any in lore explanation as to why a planet would ever need farmers and trade ships rather than simply using a replicator? why cant the federation just give bajor a few replicators and solve all their problems? just a random star trek thought which bothers me.
