Nicole de Boer: top waifu
crew_full_body_cm_ezriwaitress_full.png

She seemed at home with all the sci-fi tropes. Plus Nicole looks good in everything.

They should've penciled her in for a part in VOY / ENT.

Was it some other reason then her weight that just so happens to look like her crushing him or do they flat out say she killed him?
Well, in a deleted scene Tilly visited Starbase Sanders just before and
added some reverse tachyon cholesterol, which increased the gravitational constant

You know what the saddest part is? Is that Discovery lays out how every day, crewmen are running in the corridors for exercise, or working out in a gym, or practicing on a "holodeck"... and yet Tilly still ballooned out.
I think there was a scene in season 1 (?) with Burnham giving Tilly some advices to get in better shape.

If I was allowed to make my own Trek show I would completely disregard all the shit post-Enterprise, then set a show about 20 years after the Dominion War.

I'd show that the Federation has changed a little. Not too much, but the change is there. Still optimistic, still altruistic, but they've been hit hard by reality. They looked at the end toll of the Dominion War, almost a billion dead, and realized that perhaps we'd gotten soft. War is never a good thing, but sometimes it's a necessary one. Humanity has forgotten that and were completely unprepared for the war.

As such, a new division of Starfleet is established, Starfleet Tactical. The outright military arm of the UFP. Established with the idea of being a necessary evil to protect the Alpha Quadrant, the soldiers of Starfleet Tactical have a single purpose: To protect the UFP from all threats both foreign and domestic and if need be to take the fight to the enemy.

The uniform would be much like a standard Starfleet uniform, but with a few more military accoutrements, and their uniforms would be the classic olive drab of Earth's old militaries, perhaps with a bit of the old Wrath of Khan era uniform flair.

Because realistically you WOULD want a nice beefy military. The Klingons have one, the Romulans have one, and the Dominion had one. Why the fuck don't WE have one?
As much as people say Starfleet can act as a military, we all know that people like the TNG era Enterprise crew were probably ill suited for the rigors of a long term down and dirty war. Even the DS9 crew were probably nowhere near as deadly as they could be (Except maybe Garak and Kira. And maybe O'Brien, being a combat vet and all.)And that's where Starfleet Tactical comes in.

"We come in peace" should logically be followed by "but are ready to kick the everloving fucking shit out of you if we have to."
I've got a similar concept also set 15-20 years after the dominion war, It annoys me how much nu trek ignores the dominion since it was probably the biggest conflict the alpha quadrant has ever seen, everyone was involved and the dominion is still out there. Its nice to think that odo might have had some influence on them but at the end of the day he was just another drop in the ocean and I doubt their ideology could have changed that significantly.

I agree that the federation would probably become more militarized, not just to protect their own interests in the alpha quadrant but to prepare for when they meet the dominion again naturally. They were able to win against a small contingent of them with help from everyone else but up against the dominion at full strength they don't stand a chance unless they start pouring resources into a strong military. With the scale of the federation their power would likely be unmatched by anyone else in the quadrant, of course this scares everyone who are used to them being these hippy pacifists with many wondering if this is a prelude to the feds becoming a dominion-like faction themselves. Although its unintended this also greatly harms their ability to be neutral mediators in foreign disputes and their general mission of peaceful exploration.

Since starfleet HQ and starfleet academy share the same grounds I think it would be interesting to have a split cast of Admirals and Cadets, the dynamic of the bunch of jaded higher ups who've lived through the worst of it and a bunch of fresh-faced optimists who are just excited to start boldly going would be fun and provide some varied perspectives on the issues at hand. Plus we've talked in the past here about the potential an academy show could have, I'm genuinely surprised it hasn't been done yet.

I miss the episodic format so each episode would focus on solving disputes within the federation, cleaning up after the dominion war and trying to maintain their relationships with other empires as the federation walks the line between doing whats necessary to protect themselves and becoming paranoid isolationists. I actually brainstormed a couple of episode concepts If anyone's interested. Overall as much as I hate the "federation are the baddies" angle a lot of nu trek takes I still think exploring its shortcomings in a realistic way like they did in DS9 is interesting, especially after a large scale galactic war.

they were ill-suited because that wasn't their job, they were sent in for diplomacy, if that fails they call the cavalry.

any ship and crew does their own thing in their own way, remember when jellico was filling in for picard and the culture clash it caused? pretty sure there are ships to deal with that kind of stuff in sectors where they're needed (wasn't the titan where riker ends up more of a battleship? never really bothered with post-VOY stuff. iirc there was also a fan project or books of a battlecruiser I forgot the name of).

An example of gender-flipping done right.

Elementary tried something similar. (It was underwhelming and unimportant.)
elementary season 1 was GOAT, however they blew their load too fast and too hard. jonny lee miller also fucking nailed that role which made it worth just watching for the quiet before/after parts when the murder of the week was dealt with. sadly writing got worse and worse, didn't even bother with "the incel community" and season 4 onward.

still, when it was good it was damn good
fuck the farms for ruining the word exceptional for me

please tell me this is shopped...

I liked the first season, but it never evolved. It was nothing more than a police procedural with the Sherlock brand slapped onto it. Maybe if they'd brought Natalie Dormer back as a recurring Moriarity, but they went with some gayness about his dad being an illuminati mobster.

It's a pretty low bar to be better than Sherlock. Cumberbatch and his antics grew tiresome quickly.

Vampire Diaries was the same way. True Blood started off better, but instead of delivering, it became so stupid that you regret ever watching it.
