Minus Wolf the other members of Star Wolf look fine--mostly Leon. Katt is the absolute worst what were they smoking?! Can you imagine Miyu and Faye in this style jfc

i want star fox adventures 2, the first one was robbed of a proper boss fight.
Crossposting from the Switch 2 thread but someone has more or less done so already in a mod campaign based on both DP and SFA, and it looks pretty good so far.

lol, the original designer for Star Fox, Imamura, has come out and said Illumination designed them better:
Tbh he was also in charge of the shoddy illustration works for Command, so the bar wasn't set that high in the first place. Still, I don't know if I'm crazy but the way Fox muzzle looks in the Mario movie makes it appear as if he was wearing black lipstick and I cannot unsee it anymore.

To elaborate on this:

“だって映画版のフォックスはマリオと初対面の時の表情が最高やし!!一瞬敵対視するけど直ぐに互いに理解示す演出が素晴らしい!!”

Or

“Fox’s face when he meets Mario for the first time in the movie is amazing!! For one moment he treats him like an enemy, but then they quickly come to understand each other. The way that scene is directed is brilliant!!”

I can sort of see what they're going for. Can't say I'm a fan, though.

He also says the current designs are good in their own way and have a "clear direction". The movie design is the clear winner, but Fox's personality was a bit too over the top for me. I'm more of a fan of snarky Fox.

Thing is, with all the extra stuff they're doing with this remake would be the correct thing to do if you're trying to reintroduce the Star Fox franchise to a modern audience... but it's beyond asinine when it's the third remake of a game that came out in 1997 in 15 years, which in and of itself is kind of a redo of the original SNES game. I legitimately broke out into laughter when I was watching the direct from the sheer lack of creativity.

As I said, the models' art style doesn't fit. And the realistic art style is no excuse for Kat's literally fuck-ugly design. If/when Krystal appears in the next game, should she be de-sexualized/uglified too, it will be a confirmation this is part of the ongoing trend. Even Sonic's Rouge got completely shrunk in the latest official art.

EDIT:
On the other hand, this Kat is a realistic take of how a "female mercenary" would look like, kek.

As I said in the Switch 2 thread:
Nintendo has a sense of humour. I'll play it, I'm even looking forward to it a bit, but I'm gonna laugh all the same at the sheer ridiculousness of the situation.

Thing about Star Fox is this is an honest to god remake of 64.

Not like a remaster/remake hybrid of 643D or reimagining of Zero.

I know it seems boring but where else do you start when you need to start anew? Start in the middle like Xenogears?

Which is sad for Namco.

Normally they really would do more but I guess Namco circa 2003/04 wasn’t doing so well anyways. (Because Bandai had to swoop them up.)
Honestly Assault isn't bad, it's just a lot of wasted potential. Too many rough edges which cause the game to just not mesh together quite properly.

i love that complaining about this being the sixth time they've released the same game is entirely overshadowed by people complaining that they don't look like puppets enough
