He recently appeared in the Unworthy Thor miniseries, where he tracks down Thor after learning that he was unworthy to find out if it's true. When he sees how bad Thor's gotten since he became unworthy (losing the arm, becoming a depressed alcoholic), Bill doesn't even hesitate to offer his own hammer to him if it'll help him recover. This is one of the things that causes Thor to get his shit together and become sober.
Man, Bill is awesome.

BTW I forget if I shilled for this site before but there's a nice site I use a lot. They center around reading/viewing orders but they can help you find comics and keep track of what you have read. The community on their forums is still small and not cancerous. They're not only covering comics but any large universe where guides could be helpful. Of the handful they've done so far, I'm linking their Marvel site but they just started their DC one if anyone wants to join. Still a work in progress with Marvel (at 2012 currently), others are complete though.

They'll never top Bill with any other not-Thors.

I started reading Deadpool two months ago and got Vol.3 to 6 for Christmas. I also watched the movie and am really digging it so far.
At first I was a bit sceptical because I've never read comics before but somebody awesome recommended it.

I honestly think we should have made a thread on Comicsgate stuff.. Would it be too late to make one?
I wouldn't call it that but a thread about the industry being full of crazy people would be alright.

Yeah it should be something like "Comics Creators and their Detractors".

I'll make the thread and tag in the regulars here. There's a lot of exceptional stuff to tag, though I am having issues with finding caps of Mark Waid's rants.

Does Mark Waid usually delete his twitter spergouts?

He deleted the whole account, I am hoping it will be back in the 30-day grace period.

I am trying to use google image search to find screen caps, but so far no real luck.

Thanks, Mark Waid, I didn't know to Asian girls everyone looks the same but themselves.

Today we learn how we dodged a bullet with the cancelation of Scarlet's Strikeforce.

So Skywarp is a good guy now? Hasbroverse still a thing? They're still trying to push that?

I mean, I don't mind GI Joe vs Transformers, but I'd prefer if they were off in their little own universe minis. No good can come from doing both of these.

Are there any good comics in this day and age? I've been mainly sticking to Dark Horse's lineup, so other companies are encouraged.

another event where Cyclops would be revealed to be a terrorist only to reveal this terrible thing he did was basically recycling and not even people working at Marvel can explain how it made him a terrorist
The other thread was closed, so I hope you have notifications turned on, because I have got to hear what this is about, it sounds ridiculous.

I hope I'm right in this assumption, is it the Mignolaverse you've been reading? Nothing else is on par, but avatar has a couple that approach it in terms of scope and themes, like God is Dead (after issue six though Hickman leaves, so maybe check seven and eight out and see how you feel, otherwise just get the books of acts) and Alan Moore's Providence if you like Lovecraft (you don't need to read his previous lovecraftian books Neonomicon and The Courtyard, but they are connected).

Actually, avatar and dark horse have a lot of similar output excluding dark horse's licensed stuff, both publishers give a lot of freedom to the creators - dark horse has more editorial input, which results in a higher consistency of good quality work, while avatar is more hands off, which means the quality varies wildly, but the good shit is excellent. Crossed is a good example - it has a reputation as edgelord shit, but the lack of enforced morality results in some amazing stuff, alongside some utter garbage. Uber is also great, and if you haven't read the superhero trilogy Warren Ellis did at avatar (Black Summer, No Hero and Supergod) you should go grab it asap - they're deconstructions fyi, I assume you're not interested in standard superhero comics.

And if you liked Gerard Way's Umbrella Academy you should definitely check out his new Doom Patrol, which isn't quite as good, but is better than Grant Morrison's run, and I say that as someone who is gay for Grant Morrison. Otherwise from the big two there isn't a lot to suggest, aside from Tom King's The Vision and his current Mister Miracle run.

I'm not much into superheroes, so I'll pick up those three books. The Terminator comics were pretty good, along with the Alien comics. Death Head was pretty good, and Harrow County continues to be amazing. Hellboy is where it is at though.
