TBH I'm not going to get too excited about this until a bunch of writers/artists are fired and they hire people with actual talent or ability to control their political views and tell stories.

If that happens, I expect a lot of butthurt Twitter sperging.

Agreed, I expect that the changes will be subtle and without much fanfare.

:offtopic:Can you tell me more about your avatar? It reminds me a lot of Tokyo Ghoul, which is one of my favorite manga ever.
 
I haven't read a comic book in ages, but I do remember how a very good comic called Über was being attacked for being pro nazi, even though the artist was black and the comic was a neutral position with no political influence and was simply set in WW2 with the idea of "what if the Nazis had super soldiers?"

Taking an idea from common WW2 sci-fi/fantasy is racist lol

But what sucks is that it had good art and a good story, yet it was put as "awful" for having a certain topic that triggered leftist babies. It really is something that can ruin the industry if something with bad art and writing is considered "good" as long as it follows the SJW narrative, but something is considered "Bad" if it has good art and good story but doesn't follow they narrative.

It sort of is why I gave up on recent comics and even anime/manga. But for anyone interested, some good comics I still remember and can recommend are Über, Daredevil: End of Days, Saga(from what little I've seen), Morning Glories, and anything made by the Luna Brothers(Girls is an amazing comic that is highly underrated/unkown).

If anyone has any more modern comics that are in those kind of story subjects, feel free to tell me about them. I also love stuff like The Boys, Darkness, Sin City, although I never liked Kick-Ass and I haven't bothered yet with Kingsman.

Yeah, i'm not holding my breath until all the people that got hired simply for being LGBT and/or POC get handed a pink slip. As a gay non-white myself, I couldn't care less if you're a black trans lesbian Muslim, especially if you can't write worth a damn and the only stuff you created prior to getting hired was some terribly drawn art on Tumblr.
 
All the talk about the Slavers arc in The Punisher Salt thread, convinced me to check that arc and several others that were recomended. So I got an online version of Punisher Max: The Complete Collection Vol 1 and it shows how well Garth Ennis got the character. I strongly suggest Ennis' first Punisher work, the maxi-series, Welcome Back Frank.
 
Just got round to reading all of I Hate Fairyland, a really fun comic, I especially liked the Labyrinth parody issue.

It me a bit of some of my other favourite comics like Scud: The Disposable Assassin (Which is given a shoutout in the comic) and Lobo.

I've come to the conclusion that garth ennis is a fucking genius and a master of his craft. He can delve into deep political topics, gritty drama's, Wartime action and goofy fucking superhero's and set a new bar in everything he makes. Preatcher, Punisher max, The Boys, Jessica Blood, All fantastic reads with relatable and infinitely likeable characters and depressingly sad plots. To this day, I think "Butcher Baker Candlestickmaker" from the boys is the best volume of any comic I've ever read.
 
I hate Humberto Ramos and would rather him die of cancer, and his entire extended family starve to death, than have him butcher another comic with his "art".

It seems like after Crimson ended, his work got worse and worse.

I haven't seen his work on Crimson. I first saw him during his run on Spider-man when he was already garbage. I may check out crimson just to see good work from him.

I re-looked at the Crimson art and it's not as good as I remember it.

He does nice enough single half-body portrait things but his full body work in panels is freaking... weird. He's not worth that much dislike though imo.

I may have been drinking when I said that. Even sober though I can't stand his art. It pulls me right out of the story, especially the way he draws faces.

In regards to Punisher, I've been getting into it after reading the Punisher salt thread. Already got some of the comics on Kindle and I'm already enjoying them.
 
The upcoming Batman Ninja Anime reminded by of one of my favorite Batman stories from: Obligation. It was the third annual issue of Detective Comics involving Wayne's Yakuza mentor, a shitload of ninjas, and an overal great, pulpy-yet-broody story. It might not be up there with the best the Caped Crusader has to offer, but I'd love to see a competent animated adaptation of it, especially it they'd manage to stay true to Dan Jurgens' awesome art style as close as possible.

i read a comic called gasolina a few days ago
it's interesting i guess. nice art style. there's tits sometimes. if it were to be adapted to be a show, i might watch an episode or two i guess.

He exposed Dan Slott and Mark Waid (both lolcows in their own right) for the damaged goods they were. I don't think it was by design, it showed how Slott views his critics as subhuman pixels and Waid admitted that he struggled with depression.
