Rob is also somebody whose art looks good with the right coloristLook at this garbage art. Penciller can’t even draw the feet like good ol Rob Liefeld. But at least Rob had 90s cheese with his comics.

It never really got started. Spider-Man was probably the only good one (not good now) but every series felt like filler issues where nothing was happening. You're just waiting for the Maker to show up while characters sit around doing nothing of importance. The Ultimates do DEI hiring (you know they're screwed when they have to use jails and recruit criminals) instead of coming up with any plan (except for Tony becoming Kang but that's barely moving anywhere). So what now, the Maker nukes everyone and starts over in yet another universe? The most interesting character was Doom Reed (that issue of his origin/despair was the best Ultimates issue) and they keep/kept sidelining him for nobodies like DEI Hawkeye and America Chavez. What are your thoughts on the new Ultimate Universe ending?
Agreed. The Absolute Universe is exactly like the new Ultimate Universe - stale and nothing is happening. The Batman Who Laughs/Dark Multiverse era was terrible as well. At this point I'm only reading comics (always pirating) to see how much worse they can get and how much money and time is wasted on them.Absolute Batman and “The Batman Who Laughs” is fucking garbage.
Its not a bad pin-up. Nice Sean Gordon Murphy-derivative style. The lack of background sucks, and the mallet handle is way too small for Batman's massive hands. The costume design is shit, as well. But I think boring or static looking art is worse than a tryhard with an exaggerated style.Look at this garbage art. Penciller can’t even draw the feet like good ol Rob Liefeld. I don't know if this is just my autism, but when the Ultimate universe got started in the early 2000s I never really read it more than a couple issues because I've always felt like anything differing from the "mainline" universe in Marvel or DC just feels like officially sanctioned fanfiction. And when Batman looks this ridiculous, that confirms my feelings even more. That doesn't mean alternate universes or stories set in them can't be fun, but I'll never take them as seriously as the mainline stuff. Is there even an Absolute Superman? Or Wonder Woman? Or Flash or Green Lantern? All I see is Absolute Batman so if those do exist DC's done a terrible job of advertising them.Look at this garbage art. Yes to all of the above. I love how the official reviewers that deal with comics (those who still exist) gush about how good Absolute X is, and then you skim a little and realize they're worse than the average Spawn issue from the 90s.Is there even an Absolute Superman? Or Wonder Woman? Or Flash or Green Lantern? All I see is Absolute Batman so if those do exist DC's done a terrible job of advertising them.
They exist. Absolute Batman is probably the one that's been naturally talked about the most just based on how different it is compared to normal Batman, visually and all that.I don't know if this is just my autism, but when the Ultimate universe got started in the early 2000s I never really read it more than a couple issues because I've always felt like anything differing from the "mainline" universe in Marvel or DC just feels like officially sanctioned fanfiction. I'll give DC this, they were actually able to give WW a successful secondary title. They exist. Absolute Batman is probably the one that's been naturally talked about the most just based on how different it is compared to normal Batman, visually and all that.
Honestly, based solely on premise alone, Absolute Wonder Woman seems dope as all hell.
I kinda hope we get Absolute Wondy being swapped in more. The premise is interesting and puts her into a pseudo- S&S situation.I'll give DC this, they were actually able to give WW a successful secondary title.
I really like the look of Absolute Hawkman. The mummy motif works so well with the Egyptian heritage of the character.I kinda hope we get Absolute Wondy being swapped in more. The premise is interesting and puts her into a pseudo- S&S situation.
Absolute Batman is. . . probably the most famous one because of all the drastic changes the readers get to see to the characters as a whole, right away. Absolute Superman is intriguing. Absolute Flash feels like it's going to wind up being polarizing.
Kinda wonder what Absolute Shazam will be.

I like alt universes because you can do different things with the characters that wouldn't be tolerated in the mainline. There's an Ultimate X-Men story in which one kid's power is that he vaporizes anyone within a certain distance of him, which obliterated his hometown. So Wolverine kills him to save people, but also because if it got out that there was a mutant that could do this, it could cause mutant rights to go to shit. And All Star Superman told the story of a Superman who knew he was about to die.I don't know if this is just my autism, but when the Ultimate universe got started in the early 2000s I never really read it more than a couple issues because I've always felt like anything differing from the "mainline" universe in Marvel or DC just feels like officially sanctioned fanfiction. These alternate universes are usually brainchildren of specific writers. The original Ultimate Universe ran for so damn long and felt like a weird anomaly. I remember hearing the Earth One books were good for a hot minute, and then got into production hell?I like alt universes because you can do different things with the characters that wouldn't be tolerated in the mainline. The problem is they tend to fall apart quickly or end up fizzling out. I liked the Earth One GNs for Superman and Batman, but both only had three entries. The Ultimate verse had a lot of problems with conflicting views of the characters and writers trying to be super edgy. And do not get me started on the failure that was the New 52.
The difference between what you mentioned in the first paragraph and what you mentioned in the second paragraph are that the first paragraph stories at least stood on their own as at least readable, okay to good (depends on reader, I agree with everything you said) stories that you could tell were made with some amount of care. The second paragraph stories aren't here to tell a good story, so it all ends up looking like they're writing because they need money. It also helps that the first paragraph's stories are a lot shorter and less connected with "current event that's going on" like DC K.O. (who even cares about this beyond the Absolute Trinity spoiler?) or the current "big theme" of something like All In (that I'm sure people and writers will forget about like Infinite Frontier). They can't have good standalone stories anymore, everything has to tie back to a bad event or it just sucks like anything going on in the current Elseworlds line.Marvel's Exiles was a good read. I remember DC attempting something around the aftermath of Infinite Crisis in which the Kingdom Come Superman showed up in the JSA book. We also had the Tangent Universe stuff that. . . was a neat experiment for a hot minute. And the "Stan Lee DC Universe" too.
The issue I have is that we just don't do anything. I'd even take a "Showcase Presents" angle with all this shit and put it in there. The New Ultimate universe and Absolute Universe shit is 100% going to eventually be relegated to memberberries.
How was the book?I have my stable of characters whose exploits I follow even though they aren’t main characters and that sometimes necessitates reading dogshit. So imagine how I felt upon learning that Hank “Tank” Henshaw and Eradicator were going against the Question, specifically the salsa version

I don’t know why the drew him that way in the last page but for an android, buddy is looking pretty excited to be in his situation. That’s literally the happiest I’ve ever seen him drawn.
Terrible, Question and Bat-dyke solo two Supermen and an entire mind-controlled Justice League. How was the book?
