Possibly this is old, but can someone explain to me why Thor is now Black?

Also, what kind of racist shit is this? Asgard is black so there are trainers hanging from telephone wires? And Thor now talks in like a ten year old making rhymes?
It's the Gwen thing they did a year or so ago, but with Miles Morales. They've been trying for years to make Miles a thing, but he lacks any actual good stories or character defining moments. Bendis was trying to do a reversal with him when he started. Miles had both his parents and his female guardian wanted him to be a hero. Movie Miles is unironically a better version.

It's from a What If miniseries where each issue asks what would happen if Miles took on a different mantle instead of Spider-Man. First issue was Captain America, 2nd was Wolverine and third was Hulk. Thor will be in the 4th issue.

It's almost as if the SJWs who insist on this sort of thing so fervently actually despise black people. If you hate black people then why do you want to make every character black? Are you trying to get everyone else to hate black people too?
You know, it is quite strange how little the expanded universe for Indiana Jones is. Most comics were by Dark horse in the 90's, then it stopped. The two comics that I ended up reading were released in 2008 surfing at the Crystal Skull release.
It is such a interesting setting to put lots of adventures but it isn't very well explored, fo you guys knows why?

The fire glow on their torches are just the same outline shrunken down, distorted & transparently layerd on top of each other. Even 90s indie comics didn't feel this cheap. The glow around Indiana's torch in the bottom right doesn't even encompass the flame itself, it was drawn over it.

How is it that comic book artists who make comic panels for a normie audience that go on store shelves are somehow significantly worse at their job than the average Patreon porn artist? I guess we can't complain about a lack of form or technical skill in Deviant Art anymore since our staple art looks like this now.

It should be noted that Johnathan only exists because DC wanted to shut fans up who were super fucking pissed the Post-Crisis version was jetisoned for the New 52 version, who was explicitly being set up to marry Wonder Woman per Jim Lee's hate boner for Lois Lane and Dan DiDio wanting Silver Age Superman back, but with a Dragon Ball Z modern twist to him.

He was created purely to give Post-Crisis Superman a happy ending in Convergence but New 52 Superman sales were so dire and the last ditched DC You revamp was wholesale rejected and did so much damage to the franchise that DC basically said "fuck it" and brought back Dan Jurgans (the closet thing Superman has to a Chris Claremont) and gave him and Tomasi the Superman books and let them restore the Post-Crisis version of the character centered around Superman being a dad.

DC probably KNOWS letting the hack Taylor (who DESPISES Superman to the point that Injustice literally justifies and bends over backwards Harley Quinn killing Lois and everyone in Metropolis) rape Johnathan by making him bisexual will turn people off the character. Because Bendis aging him up failed to destroy him and created such carnage that DC had to rush out several Super Sons minis to damage control the sales collapse.

The Walking Dead started out so good but got so retarded and shitty so fast. I'm glad the guy finally cut and run, the quality was miserable and only getting worse for the better part of 150 issues and it'd have tanked way sooner if the show never came along.

invincible was headed in that direction too before he decided to end it quickly And be done with it. It looked like the future storylines were going to be rehashes of the old ones.

Not really; past stories with Superman having kids were non-canon stuff with only the Haney Super Sons stuff getting a fig leaf of canon via multiverse shennanigans.

Superman's last issues before the reboot were a combination of crossover crap (A Doomsday storyline) and the abortion that was JMS's Superman run "Grounded". With the later ending with a vague "and the adventure continues" ending as the last published Superman story before the reboot.

John was introduced in Convergence, with time travel stuff done to insert Clark and Lois being around the entire time of the New 52, squatting in the abandoned Kent farmhouse with Clark raising John while Lois was pulling a Homer Simpson, publishing books under the "Mrs X" moniker.

John is what New 52 Superman was supposed to be - Superman character without prior baggage that allows DC to write whatever they want with him. But it didn't really work out since people got attached to kid John and people have certain ideas about "Superman" name regardless of the character wearing the cape.

i think the way they write Jon now with all his interest in activism and protesting, a good storyline would be for him to do something like Captain Marvel back in 2016-17 did and fight for what he believes is right and do what‘s right (in his mind) no matter who it hurts. And his boyfriend would back him every step of the way. Only to normal people, they see him as kind of a dictator and a villain. Heroes would try to stop him and beat some sense into him and he keeps winning until he meets someone as strong as himself and gets bodied. And he is made to see the error of his ways.

I know this an old trope in comics but, this storyline would be a lot better than the political pandering they got him doing and they could add a new Gen Z twist to it while keeping it readable because we see that he is not perfect and his character will be forced to grow in different ways,

That wouldn't salvage the interest. The hard truth is that Jon existed in a sweet spot between coming of age alien intrigue and wholesome family stuff. People who liked that about Jon(like me) wouldn't be drawn in by Jon going further activist.

If they want to salvage Jon they have to do a retcon or de-aging. Simple as that.

I agree, cuz this gay activist storyline is not working out at all. At this point DC might have to do yet another reboot.

But they aren’t going to do that so, I was thinking of a decent storyline that would make this version of Jon somewhat interesting.

What you suggested sounds something more up Batwoman's alley, frankly. I stopped following Jon after he got Bendis' but it's always amazed me they ran with the "Superboy is totally gay guys" angle. There was no lead up to that at all in Tomasi's run and I have no idea why they thought it'd fit.

Peak Jon is that one issue where him and Clark promise not to do hero stuff while they attend the county fair with Lois. I want more of that. Less of...whatever we have now.

fun fact: they were planning on doing this with Superman post-DC Death Metal. Clark would go full fascist complete with running his version of the Authority and becoming a major villain to permanently establish Jonnathan under Taylor as the "true" Superman.

Supposedly Scott Snyder found out about this plan and narced to Grant Morrison, who was getting ready to leave DC for good after his GL run wrapped and begged him to proactively offer his service writing Superman and the Authority PURELY to damage control shit. Which led to Grant and Snyder pulling a power play that culminated in DiDio's firing and the jetisoning the bulk of the 5G plans.

Where are you getting this shit about Snyder begging Morrison to write Superman or Morrison doing a power play to remove Didio? Morrison in his newsletter told different story when he was talking about 5G.

I thought Didio got fired because he was planning to reboot the whole DC universe again?

ngl that storyline sounds like it could have been a better version of the Injustice one. You could even leave it implied at the end of the arc that this was all a secret plot of Mr. Mind or whoever. Hell, you could even have a switchup where Luthor decides to fight Authority!Superman on the side of the people. There could have been so much good shit done with this premise.

Hell, you could even have a thing where this increasingly malevolent Superman goes further and further into the dark side, as he "takes care" of the more heroic members of the Authority, starting with Apollo/Midnighter as we see hints of Darkseid's Omega corruption or w/e it's called (Remember Justice League Odyssey and the whole thing with Darkseid being able to corrupt and brainwash others into serving him?)

If we could have that and then give Jon Kent to a good writer, it could have climaxed with all the poignance possible and probably revived a lot of people's faith and love for American capeshit. Picture a revelation that this Superman had been infected by Darkseid since the end of Convergence or w/e due to fuckery of some sort. Superman falls in his son's arms, Lois crying, the surviving heroes looking aghast, as Darkseid somehow stands once more.

Would have been a really fun ride and a fun way to reintroduce Darkseid to the main DC Earth's sphere again. The ultimate "oh fuck" moment as the heroes, villains, and Leviathan realize that they're all fucked.

This, the activist fag shit is annoying. People liked Jon because he was a perfectly written child character, had wholesome stories and like his dad, brought out the best in people.
