DC Pride is out. The only story worth reading is Kevin Conroy's. It's very honest and emotionally fulfilling. That man can literally do no wrong. I've never heard a single negative thing about him.

Well, he did give AIDS to a lot of his friends in the 80's and the story is the most common fag story I've heard. It's not bad, but I hate actors by nature because they are innately hollow people.

IIRC doesn't the special also fuck up Legion lore by making Dawnstar suddenly come out as bisexual along with Brainiac 5 "demisexual"?

Also Dark Crisis #1 came out:

We get a new JLA with John, Harley Quinn, Killer Frost, both Blue Beetles, Booster Gold, Black Adam, Harley Quinn, the female Doctor Light, black Aqualad, Tim Drake, Supergirl, and Frankenstein). Also, Black Adam shits on the roster claiming both Harley and Killer Frost are traitors in waiting, that Dr Light looks way to fucking young to be a hero, and mocking the idea of having BOTH Blue Beetles on the team. Along with Hal mocking John for putting Adam on the team and we get the foreshadowing that the lighting of Shazam is the key to beating Great Darkness.

Also Deathstroke and his new Legion of Doom launch an attack on Titan Tower to slaughter the entire Titan Academy cast. And they catch Beast Boy lurking outside and Deathstroke shoots Beast Boy in the face, killing him.

Also, both Yara and black Batman tell John to fuck off when he tries to recruit them.

And there is the two page spread/memorial for George Perez featuring the characters he drew at DC and it's actually a composite piece with characters drawn by different artists edited together.

Kimiko is a grown ass woman. Like......why the need to have him mock them all. Also idk if Garth is really dead

These specials are on the fringe of continuity, if some regular book doesn't reference one of those stories then they might as well be out of continuity.

I don't think he personally infected anyone. But I am pretty sure he has it judging by how he looks......off.
Anyone who was a gay actor in the AIDS crisis and had friends who died of AIDS probably shot a few pozzed loads up a few negholes. A family friend worked in SF during the AIDS crisis in healthcare and she saw it as a very self-destructive suicide.

I'll give him this, he's basically made his voice and Batman synonymous.

Way back in the post Infinite Crisis Justice League book, several members of the LOSH showed up and it was confirmed that Dawnstar had a girlfriend. Between that and her relationship with Wildfire, that confirmed she was bi.

The Walking Dead started out so good but got so retarded and shitty so fast. I'm glad the guy finally cut and run, the quality was miserable and only getting worse for the better part of 150 issues and it'd have tanked way sooner if the show never came along.

Kingdom Come is one big circlejerk and has basically no story whatsoever.

WONDER WOMAN: Superman come back.
SUPERMAN: No I shan't.
WONDER WOMAN: Are you afraid of Mag- him?
SUPERMAN: *walks out of room*
[next page]
TEEN EXTREME TEAM: WE'RE GONNA TEAR DOWN THIS WORLD AND BUILD A NEW ONE WITH MORE PUNK MUSIC AND NO APPRECIATION FOR WHAT OUR GRANDFATHERS BUILT
SUPERMAN: *flies into panel*
SUPERMAN: Young punks, isn't it about time you were good boys who fought for justice?
[skip about 150 pages of meandering bullshit]
SUPERMAN: Billy Batson, you are also Captain Marvel. You are both a MAN and a SUPER HERO. Unlike myself who was just pretending to be a man, I guess, when I married Lois and generally got along just fine with humanity.
BILLY BATSON: Sh... sh... SHAZAM!
CAPTAIN MARVEL: *fucking dies*

People just like the book because it's pretty.

I'm just curious, are there any other Zenescope comics fans here?
I was always thinking of picking up some of their stuff, but never got around to it. Only this year I read All Guts No Glory, and it was pretty good but flawed. Thanks again for recommending it by the way.

You're welcome. Zenescope gets my money because they actually give a damn about their fans and know they're more important than SJW virtue signaling. I suggest their Grimm Tales of Terror comics, especially if you like horror and crappy people getting what they deserve.

It was all style and just a massive amount of pretentious shit, as i recall it was originally a idea called twighlight of the superheros by Alan Moore before his fallout with DC, Mark Waid is a massive faggot i wonder what Moore's take would have been like?

Something Adam said to Jon stuck with me, "You're trying to run before you can walk." I know it wasn't Josh Williamson's intention, but it felt like meta-commentary on DC's treatment of Jon Kent since Bendis' Man of Steel mini. I had this impression that DC was grooming him, in BOTH senses of the word, to be the bisexual Superman whose legendary exploits would far surpass his father's. He was the inspiration behind the current incarnation of the United Planets and (garbage version of) Legion of Super-Heroes was preparing him for the role. The problem with that is that it was all unearned. Hell, you could see it in Future State: Justice League where Jo Mullein Green Lantern and Jace Fox Batman were said to surpass Bruce Wayne as the multiverse's best detective and protector of Gotham City.

I remember what @MirrorNoir said about Connor's return, that it only happened because Bendis couldn't have Young Justice without all of the four. However, I feel that Conner has a better claim to the title of Superman because he has nearly thirty years of history with the Superman titles including a stint in the post-Zero Hour Legion. Jon had only been introduced in 2015's Convergence and had been Superboy for barely two years before Bendis artificially aged him up and made Lois and Clark look like gigantic idiots while doing it. I watched a podcast between Doomcuck--I mean, Doomcock and Bill Whittle where the latter compared the treatment Kathleen Kennedy and Alex Kurtzman gave Rei and Michael Turnham in the Star Wars and Trek franchises to stolen valor. It perfectly encapsulates both DC and Marvel's diversity initiatives. All of these post-2014 "legacy" characters basically exist to leech off the goodwill given to established characters with extensive histories and have nothing but superficial characteristics/sexualities to define them. No matter how hard DC tries to push these pirated copies of better characters, Jon Kent will never be true Superman. Jace Fox will never be the true Batman. Jess Quick (who has less than five appearances to date) will never be the true Flash.

The worst thing is, Jon was a good character before that cunt got ahold of him.

He was just a kid with two loving parents and a very innocent outlook on life.

Then he gets aged up, used as a mouthpiece by freaks and turned into a sexual malfunction.

The large issue I've had with DC is the legacy characters. The Flash is the first character they did it with and it worked because Barry actually died leading to Wally to pick up the mantle. As time went on they did it more and more, I would say it worked because those characters (The Flash, Green Lantern) tended to already be mantles rather than an extension of the character created so they could express another part of themselves. Fast forward and they're replacing characters who are effectively their mantle.
That can kind of work, but it's done in such a way where they're replacing an existing character in a way that's insulting to the readers and the OG character. The current writers and editors seem to be eager for their fifteen minutes of fame by causing an uproar. You'll have writers retcon the characters history (Dan Slott or Bendis), abandon every interpersonal connection to tell a tacky story (Hickman or Kevin Smith), or make a mess of something for their own fanbase (KSD or Dan Abbnett).

Superman was replaced in his most famous storyline. The entire sub-narrative was that none of these guys really could. Steele, Superboy, and Eradicator all failed to replace him. You can go into the weeds of what Death of Superman was, but it's more important in recognizing brand management. DC go ta lot of engagement of DoS, but it started a really bad trend of chasing the same engagement. The Clone Saga happened at Marvel because of that.
Most people are okay with Robin becoming Batman because there's some sense to it. Having Bruce adopt some Black kid or some person with three degrees of seperation from Batman become Batman all within three years is going to piss people off. You can't speedrun people liking a character. It's why no one really likes Miles even after the Movie where he was the least liked alternative Spider-Man.

Jon was never not going to be formed into some writers thinly veiled social commentary. Superman is a cultural icon, he has a very all American origin. You can cut the illegal alien bullshit they've been running with for the past 30 years now that safe-haven laws are basically national law. Jon is a way for them to basically go full balls to the wall 2nd Gen immigrant with an axe to grind. They have encouraged this shit since the Death of Superman and it's partially why they are dying.
They can't write new stories that engage anyone, but people who post on twitter.

Possibly this is old, but can someone explain to me why Thor is now Black?

Also, what kind of racist shit is this? Asgard is black so there are trainers hanging from telephone wires? And Thor now talks in like a ten year old making rhymes?
