There was a series (two, actually) called "X-Men Forever" where Claremont wrote the stories he planned to write until he got shitcanned from the series after issue 3.
\
Not really. X-Men Forever abandoned the central premise after a single issue as Claremont had Storm murder Wolverine* and it turned out Storm was replaced with a fake created in Genosha as a sleeper agent for a vague conspiracy that Claremont created for the title and reintroduced a pre-teen version of Storm that was supposed to be the real Storm, who re-lost her memory when she was switched out with the fake Storm in Xtinction Agenda.
Oh and Kitty and Nightcrawler back on the team with no reason other than Claremont could.
(*Claremont had been wanting to kill Logan off and have the Hand resurrect him for ages as a villain so he could finally have Jean/Logan hook up with Jean freeing him from the Hand's brainwashing via the power of love since Dissolution and Rebirth/UXM #251-258. Bob Harras kept vetoing the idea as retarded and the fact that it would fuck up Wolverine's ongoing book and Larry Hama utterly being against the idea too. One of the last straws, when Claremont quit the X-Men, was him pushing for the story AGAIN to take place in X-Men #4 with the Reavers "killing" Wolverine and him not showing up in the X-Men book until #294 (the two hundred anniversary issue of the AN-AD X-Men and being told "NO!" yet again, as Harras preferred the idea of Logan mellowing out and having a rivalry with Gambit over Gambit being the new big shot on the team while Jim Lee didn't want Logan to be weak or evil and just wanted him to be the same old badass and Hama not wanting his exploration of Logan's past derailed by Claremont telling him and Harras, to his face, that if Harras was so obsessed with the Wolverine ongoing that Hama could simply do stories of Logan being evil and fighting the Avengers and other heroes until he finally reappeared in the main X-Books in #294).
Claremont did JACK fucking SHIT to "tell the story he always wanted to tell" in X-Men Forever. No fucking predatory lesbian Nazi Sat-Yr-9 grooming Kitty to be her underage loveslave so that she would appoint her as her second command when she replaced Roma as guardian of all reality, no fucking Shadow King regrouping and revealed to be the secret mastermind of the Hellfire Club or trying to enslave the universe via Aboriginal Dreamtime. No Nimrod and James Jasper alliance to reality warp the world into becoming an exact replicate of the Days of Future Past future Nimrod hailed from. No explaining what happened with the Brood Queen in the televangelist wife that Claremont sat up and then forgot all about. No explaining what the fuck he was planning for Polaris and Malice, Mutant War, and Gambit being Mr Sinister in hiding pulling a Terra/Changeling on Storm) because of Mutant Wars.
Not to mention the bullshit that Claremont came up with (Mutants exploding because of their power was created purely for the series), the bullshit excuse he had to retroactively come up with towards the end of V1 to explain why half the X-Men cast had magically vanished, and how Claremont couldn't even be arsed to fucking keep even basic bitch canon intact (Cable didn't fucking EXIST in the X-Men Forever verse; the New Mutants were basically free range kids who went MIA after coming back to Asgard and Nathan Summers was a young kid being raised by Scott's grandparents and later Corsair in Alaska as if X-Factor #64-68 never happened.
The ONLY aborted plot we got from Claremont in X-Men Forever was Sinister being an immortal stuck in a kid's body with a mad gay crush on Cyclops and that only happened in the second volume, when the book was about to be permanently canceled and Claremont had to fucking deliver what was promised.
I bought the volume one trades dirt cheap online and was horribly disappointed in them, having bailed on the series after the first three issue arc proved Claremont was lying his ass off about his sales pitch purely to get a non-canon X-Men book to fuck around with.
