I was telling a friend earlier that I hate trans people who don't even make an effort because of the Ristar mess this morning. I'll give respect to troons that at least try to pass, but fuck you if you still have a beard and tell me you're a woman cause you wore a dress, you chucklefuck

Fantastic Resident Evil 7 run by Carcinogen. He's such a charismatic person and it really showed throughout his run, plus he had a great couch to help him with commentary. Loved his imitations of all the jump scares, especially the part with Eveline on the ship. I've been following his progress in running RE7 and while this run wasn't exactly perfect it was still a great show.

It was an awesome run and you could tell by all the people from his channel that showed up to donate that he's a quality entertainer. Could never quite tell if he was being serious all those times he said he was in trouble....

I don't even hate those that put in little effort. I have no respect for them, but I don't hate them. What I do hate is when they put in zero effort and then demand that the world shifts their perception of them. When they force protective bubbles and new "inclusive" rules in established spaces which turn them into a protective class.

Horror block has so far been pretty great. The crowd cam was restored after the Resident Evil 7 run, and things are much more relaxed and entertaining, with a lot more banter. If I had to guess, I'd say it might have something to do with a certain group of fun-sucking vampires that were hogging the couch being asleep.

I think GDQ is in mild trouble and knows it. Let's talk about 'Setup Blocks'.

There are numerous decently long 'setup blocks' during the marathon. This is ostensibly to reset the streaming setup for various needs - specific console setups, etc. Except if you look they don't usually match up with any need to change things up - and a competent crew could do that seamlessly.

A year or two back one of my favorite streamers talked about the setup block experience. They're basically in there to enable target-of-opportunity donation challenges to help make up a goal if there's a shortfall, they'll go 'Bonus run! Donate to make it happen' for something that's fairly interesting. For setup block 2 this year they're trying to get 30k to do a Superman 64 run. This isn't the biggest they've done, but it's on the big side.

Edit: Hey, Bob's back commentating. I thought he'd been purged or something. That's cool to me at least.

FUCKING KEK @ any% bad ending
Never seen "any% no skip" before, but he looks dangerously female. Who is that?
Bailey Jay can probably be considered "doing it right", since he makes money as a tranny.

GDQ has peppered their schedules with "Setup Block" periods for a very long time. As you mentioned, they're basically placeholders for additional runs that are donation incentives, Superman 64 in this case. If the incentives are not met, the setup blocks are just skipped over and they go onto the next game. I don't really know why they still use the terminology "setup block" because as far as I am aware they don't do any "setting up". At least not any more than they usually do at any give time. They could clear a lot of confusion by just naming them "incentive placeholder", which might actually spur people to donate to find out what the mystery game is.

Also speaking of GDQ being in trouble, just now (a few minutes before the Yoshi's Island race) they finally reached $500,000 in total donations. I feel like this is WAY behind previous GDQ events.

Damn, both Darbian and Omnigamer are out of the event with back to back announcements that they've had to drop out. Darbian came down with some kind of food-borne illness and Omnigamer had to leave the venue due to a family emergency. Darbian was scheduled to run Princess Rescue, a homebrew Atari 2600 game that's basically Super Mario Bros (Darbian is/was the world record holder for the original NES Super Mario Bros and does a lot of classic Mario runs). Omnigamer was set up to run Sylvan Tale on the Game Gear I believe.

Both of these runs were set to take place within the next 24 hours, sucks that both of them had to cancel, they are really fantastic and talented runners. Darbian might still be in the event though if he feels better, and if the staff can fit his run back into the schedule. It's only estimated at 10 minutes so there's a pretty good chance he'll get back in if he gets to feeling better.

:c

This event is cursed, I tell you. This is why you don't suppress the plebs.
