I've said this in other areas of the site, but I think the point is really really not the coof anymore, especially for niche groups like this.

It's gatekeeping by hard leftists without saying they're gatekeeping. If you can just keep up the mask'n'vax requirements the 'chuds' will just go 'who the fuck wants to deal with this' and go do anything else.

At this point they should add the covid mask to the pride flag to be inclusive.

It's also a huge ego boost. Forcing normal people to wear the mask or to put their pronouns on a card give them an emotional feedback, the sense of being superior as they own the chuds.
 
Peak GDQ. It really went downhill after SGDQ 2019. I'm not sure about CarlSagan42, but Grandpoobear and Panga are degenerates. Regardless, they're all cringeworthy. Watching Dode play these insanely difficult hacks with such skill was awe-inspiring. He'll never be at another one of these, but look at the bright side, at least they've increased the number of "women" speedrunners while weeding out the transphobes...

i quit watching gpb when his channel switched from being about mario to being about playing fall guys with b-list pro wrestlers thanks to his red bull sponsorship. seeing him and barb throw dode under the bus to appease an obvious troon power grab a few years back sealed the deal, and the community hasn't really been the same since.
 
I honestly don't believe this case of mask theatre is primarily about keeping out the undesirables who don't want to put up with the nonsense, but rather to attract GDQ's desired attendants. That means people who are so mentality ill, sheltered, and anxious (i.e., typical speedrunners) that they'd refuse to come without such masking policy. This is most apparent with those who wear masks on stage even though they don't have to.

In addition, masking policy gives literal cover for trannies to hide half of their man-face.

Well, as someone that's followed GPB for a bit longer than that (mostly because I don't watch streams and have no idea about any of the drama troon shit he's been up to), let me fill you in on what else he's been doing since then; absolutely banal reaction tier content, popular game of the week, and various other content that's just not interesting. Any time he starts up something that could be interesting, there's no continuation of that content. I honestly have no idea why I'm still subscribed to him on YouTube, the last video he put out that I watched was months ago.
 
the only interesting thing I saw for AGDQ recently was a run of Marathon infinity. Unfortunately it was run by a troon. Was blessed by Yrro to have encountered a glitch that blocked out its camera. Then turned the audio off and enjoyed the actual gameplay that only lasted 20 minutes for the whole run.

I haven't paid attention to this shit in years, but I did click on a video to watch the Mario Maker relay race and everyone was wearing masks and introducing pronouns and I immediately nope'd.

He still streams and he probably still makes SMW hacks, but I haven't watched anything related to that since what happened to Dode. I only saw him at one GDQ and it was one of the Dram World runs that GBP did. After Dode got thrown under the bus over the Svorass/Shovda drama, the community got overrun with tranny shit and became way too political. As much as I want to check in on people I used to watch, I can't because in the back of my head I think, "is this person okay with what happened to Dode? Do they love all this tranny/political nonsense? Would they stab another good creator in the back over something so meaningless?" That just ruins it for me. The only streamer I know that doesn't like the way the SMW community has gone is 3cats, but he's way too dramatic for my taste.

AGDQ 2024 starts today! And by today I mean right now. It is being held partially online due to Covid (begin laughing here) and to protest Ron DeSantis' dilation bans. Its sure to be blander and gayer than ever so prepare for this to be the only post anyone makes on it.
