Does the original Space Jam hold up?

Back when Space Jam came out our music class had to sing the songs from it for assemble because that's what all the ghetto kids wanted.

Still remember the main theme and I believe I can fly because of it.

Always hated that movie.

I loved the hell out of this movie as a kid (mostly the Nerdlucks though, even though I watched Loony Toons a lot), but man, it doesn't hold up at all.... or need a sequel.

Maybe I have become too jaded after seeing how modern Hollywood has essentially ruined, disfigured and pozzed nearly all the franchises and characters that I grew up with but the idea of a Space Jam 2 disgust me. Not because I have any sort of nostalgic attachment to the original, but because I know that any "current year" version of such a concept will be a creatively bankrupt woke culture dumpster fire. The original was not really that funny, now imagine doing this movie with the type of PC "humor" that is currently the norm and far more corporative product placement and a Chinese market freindly script and what you'll get is a soulless drek not even worth the bandwidth to pirate.

I remember the black kids in my elementary school mostly making fun of I believe I can fly.

That Bugs Bunny voice is rotten.

It's far better than Billy West in the original Space Jam but not near the level of Mel Blanc or Joe Alaskey, got to say it's the best bugs voice of those still alive but still a shame they can't find someone that hit out of the park, recasting voices for those that die or retire is something Disney is far better at.

Also the animation looks super cheap, but could be because it's just a promo

It's funny how insulting that article sounds because Bauza's been in the game since the 90s and it's almost implying he was only casted as a diversity hire. This isn't even his first time in a looney tunes series either but I'll admit I would rather have had Jeff Bergman.
This just makes me miss Joe Alaskey, he was the only real replacement to Blanc in my eyes.

Edit: kinda ninja'd

I won't be surprised if it go directly to streaming and/or direct to video.

The irony is that Bauzer's first big break was... Drum Roll... Voicing Stimpy in Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon. And voicing Stimpy in the original show was West's big break.

The first Space Jam was ass. It's not a good movie. The funniest parts of the movie involved the basketball players, and not the Looney Tunes. Fail.

90s nostalgia needs to DIAF.
