The real problem is that they basically are just making ps4 games still, the only reason they can't run on ps4 (if they actually can't, considering games like ratchet and clank can run on a pc with similar specs to a ps4 without any "magic" ssd) is due to shit optimization that they require the absolutely marginal power increase of the ps5 to brute force through. Out of all my criticisms of nintendo and the switch 2, "X switch 2 exclusive could have EASILY run on the switch 1!" isn't one of them.

The other project that's due for an evaluation at the end of the year is probably Naughty Dog's upcoming "game." I wonder if PlayStation/Sony execs took a long look at Xbox and realized they don't have the money necessary to subsidize these talentless studios.
PlayStation's biggest concern right now has to be their continued survival. They wouldn't be laying people off and threatening devs with deadlines if things were going well. The PlayStation 6 is expected to release in a couple years, and their devs are still light years away from releasing games meant for this generation specifically. One has to wonder if they're eventually going to have to abandon their hardware like Sega did all those years ago.

Its one studio and most non-superhero games have you running around as an asshole with special powers anyway. They made a Ratchet game in 2021 and have had the sequel on extremely slow burn ever since. Its not like they aren't putting it out there. As a matter of fact, they're the only western team that didn't abandon their fuzzy animal character. As to their other IP, it all sucks. Resistance was widely mocked as a failed Halo-killer that nobody played, Sunset Overdrive sold even worse than it and their other projects are so obscure that I hadn't even heard of them until looking up the studio's history.
